714 4/3/2019 1:22:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message It was an enjoyable game Ron, even after losing Hannibal early. Looking back I think you did get the better cards. My island/Italy invasions were not sufficient to overcome your excellent defenses. I still think your campaign in Gallia Cisalpinia was expertly executed; a great strategy for stalling & beating Hannibal. Congratulations on your victory, an good luck in your upcoming games.
713 4/2/2019 9:38:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Final Province count is 12-6, but it was a lot closer than the score suggests.

Great game, Mike. I was very lucky to knock out Hannibal early and you had me scared a lot during the last 5 turns. I can't see how I could have won without the early boost and a lot of very good cards.

(Both) Your opponent does not receive any Battle Card bonuses for Spanish Allies for that Combat.

Message from Rome:

Africanus leaves 2 in Tup, heads to Saldae with 7.
Drop 2 in Saldae, head to Isocium with 5.
Drop 1 in Icosium, now 2.
Head to Zuocabar with 4.
Reaction?
If no intercept, Africanus leaves 2 in Zuocabar and returns to Icosium, where he now has 4.

702 4/2/2019 3:13:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Sorry. Missed your message crossing with mine.

Part 2: Africanus and 10 sail from Emporiae to Icosium, drop 1 CU and finish with 9 in Tupusuctu.
(1 CU remains in Emporiae)
Fingers crossed for good weather.
701 4/2/2019 2:09:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message OK, I see now in the rules that Mago is displaced for losing all CUs on the retreat table.

I wonder if it is different if he had 1 left after the retreat table, and then lost that to retreating onto an enemy PC. I suppose that would leave him safe in Cosa or Pisae.
700 4/2/2019 2:08:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message As per Rule 10.10, Mago is displaced
Carthage removes PC at Thevestis due to combat loss.
699 4/2/2019 2:02:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Regardless of the answer to the question just asked, Carthage needs to remove 1 PC for political consequences, and then Rome has to execute Part 2 of a campaign.
698 4/2/2019 1:52:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Attrition takes Nero's force down to 2 CU.
Attrition plus retreat takes Mago down to 0 CU.

I do not know how this is handled.
1. Is Mago discplaced?
2. Does Mago get to retreat with 0 CU (to Cosa or Pisae) and stop there safely because 1 CU is greater than 0 CU?

Message from Carthage:

689 4/1/2019 11:25:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message You're right about the naval modifier, I did forget the +1 for the Roman PC. So, I only had a 1/3 shot of landing successfully!
688 4/1/2019 9:53:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message By the way, while this did not affect the turn, I think that Mago sailed with only a -1 modifier

Naval combat = -2 New Carthage -1 Mago -1 Naval Victory +2 Cosa +1 Roman PC in port.

Am I right about the +1 for Roman PC in Cosa? That is what the rules I am looking at say. But weirdly I thought it was +1 if there was a Roman CU. Since you counted the modifier as -2, I am now worried that I am looking at an outdated rule set.
687 4/1/2019 9:47:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message Geez, Louise.
Mago loses none.
Nero and 3 retreat to Falerii.

(Both) Neither player may enter a space containing an enemy CU or PC while the Truce lasts. The Truce ends when either player uses a Strategy Card as an event.

Message from Rome:
Feels like I have to respond to that. Longus and 7 march from Rome to Heraclea and, if no intercept, attack into Tarentum.

If no intercept, I count the cards as 10-5.

Sadly, I did draw the Truce, and that means we will have a reshuffle, creating a 1 in 7 chance that you will get Syracuse again. So if I want to be sure of a win, I probably have to go campaigning for control (or at least de-control) of another province.
