No problem! One good reason to let the defender roll the dice - it might have been a little ambiguous.
I'll roll the first attack. You know you could use Putnik as a CC for the Serbian attack if you use a different card for the ops, right? I assume you just want to keep your other cards, but remember you can always discard combat cards at the end of the turn before you draw new cards.

CP player receives 2 extra RPs to immediately flip supplied reduced strength German units to their full strength side. They may not be spent to replace eliminated units. May not be played if Berlin is AL controlled or out of supply.

Message from Central Powers:
Fortune has not favored the attacker so far - if you hadn't played Withdrawal (though playing it is the usual decision), I wouldn't even have taken Sedan on the first round, and your rolls were terrible too. Perhaps the tides will turn soon!

19 2/13/2019 5:39:00 PM August 1914 Central Powers Message Sorry for the delay - no map at work!
For my loss, flip GE3 in Koblenz.
GE1 will advance from Liege to Sedan, leaving GE2 in Liege.

The most important thing with ACTS is to try to be as clear as possible with your moves. If attacking, normally the defender does the combat resolution to allow any combat cards to be played. If as the attacker you are confident that no card plays are possible, you can go ahead and roll, but if you're wrong the roll stands and the defender can see the roll before deciding on any combat card play.
The only other convention I can think of is that reduced units are normally shown in parentheses, so for instance my unit in Koblenz is now (GE3).

Back to you for your first play.
Supply warning for all of your front-line French troops as my GE1 could move to Nevers and isolate them all.

3 2/11/2019 9:21:00 PM August 1914 Central Powers Message Hi Jimmy! Looking forward to a fun match.
I'm on US East Coast time, and am usually good for at least one move a day. I use VASSAL to track the game, but haven't felt the need to exchange files each move although I can, and certainly we should compare if there appear to be any discrepancies or questions.
I am happy with the WBC Historical Scenario and supply warnings.
I'll make a roll to see who bids first - good luck!

1 2/11/2019 8:02:00 PM August 1914 Moderator Message Welcome to Round One of the BPA VIII Paths of Glory Tournament!

I'll be your game moderator and should be your first point of contact for any issues related to this match. As always, the priority should be for a fun and fair match for all involved. The official launch date for this round is February 14th, 2019 but feel free to start your match immediately. Round 1 concludes on Wednesday, June 19, 2019; you'll have 125 days this round.

Contacting me: I am based in the UK (GMT 0) and will generally respond to all match questions within 24 hours. I strongly recommend you e-mail me directly at "paulhubbard@hotmail.co.uk" referencing your match # when you do so. If I do not respond within 48 hours, please escalate to one of the other GMs (mdauer92@yahoo.com or gregorit@yahoo.com).

Issue Resolution: If either player has a concern about a particular ruling or resolution I make, feel free to raise it to the other GMs. I will also reach out to Tom and Michael if there's something I'm not sure of. Please remember that the ACTS logs are viewable for all, direct e-mail exchanges with your opponent are obviously permitted but GMs will view the ACTS logs as the authoritative record of the game.

Getting Started:
Here are my thoughts on how to get the match started:
- Introduce yourselves and set expectations regarding your availability and game pace.
- Agree on the scenario. The default is the WBC Historical Scenario as described on the POG Tournament Page and I strongly recommend its usage.
- Agree on usage of supply warnings. They are strongly recommended.
- There is no mandatory usage of a particular PBEM tool. VASSAL is recommended but not necessary and exchanging game logs is also optional.
- Bid for sides. (Initial bidder is to be random, one of you should just roll a die with a 50-50 shot of that player bidding first. Switch sides in ACTS if necessary, contact me if you need help with this.
- Draw cards. CP will then kick off the fun by rolling the turn 1 MO and playing their first card.

Have fun!

Paul Hubbard
