434 5/21/2019 2:39:00 PM May-Aug 1943 Allies Message Just checking in to make sure you saw my last move. Also, I'll be camping over the holiday weekend, so won't be available to respond to a move then.
433 5/18/2019 2:51:00 AM May-Aug 1943 Allies Message Oh my heck. The only roll where I don't get full damage on you. But at least you rolled low too. Still a win for me, but I had been hoping to completely obliterate your air force.

You get 25 hits on me. I get 45 on you.
I'll flip your 1AF, 3AF, 4AF, and 23AF.
You can choose to either flip one of my BBs, or flip the Lexington and the 14AF LRB.

I'm going all in on this one, adding 2 LRBs and 3 CVs to the battle. The war might well hinge on the outcome of this one.
430 5/16/2019 2:52:00 AM May-Aug 1943 Allies Message Busy week - hoping to get a move in tomorrow.
Re: Next War, that sounds good. I have Korea and Taiwan on my shelf. We tried out Korea a bit a couple years ago. I haven't opened Taiwan yet but am willing to give either of these a try.
Are you thinking standard or advanced rules? Or maybe start with standard and decide whether to move to advanced for a 2nd game of it?

Message from Allies:
Forgot about how the special reaction move works. One thing I'd also missed (not sure I ever noticed this) is that special reaction move requires a separate intel die roll from the regular intel check.
Rolling that now for Takao.

Ruling, by the way, on the Takao move.

422 5/12/2019 8:55:00 PM May-Aug 1943 Japanese Message You can only flip one of my air units because 9.2.F.4 as I understand it. You only have one air unit participating, so you can only flip one air unit. Since I have full strength units, you can't flip Yamamoto.

7.27 is how I am reacting to Takao.
421 5/12/2019 8:43:00 PM May-Aug 1943 Allies Message You can verify the result and modify the logfile accordingly, with your PBM. Then I'll add my PBM.
420 5/12/2019 8:42:00 PM May-Aug 1943 Allies Message My count in Ulithi is US 58 (3x16 plus 10 for San Jacinto), Japan 59 (you forgot to add in Yamato). Result after rounding up is 30 hits to 15 hits. I'll flip 21, 25, and 23 AF, but Yamato survives.
You flip San Jacinto (your only option).

I don't think Takao can reaction move to Palau because it would not be participating in a declared battle (7.26 3rd paragraph). So my marines land successfully at f/s.
419 5/12/2019 6:45:00 PM May-Aug 1943 Japanese Message Actually, at Ulithi, you only flipped one of my air units and don't sink Yamamoto. I'll retreat Yamamoto to Palau.

It reminds me a bit of a Sicilian in chess - both sides go on the offensive after the king on opposite sides of the board, and sort of ignore the other side of the board.
