573 8/17/2019 2:03:00 PM Spring 1865 Union Message Unless you're sick of being the Rebs (and I can understand if you are), I'll take the US again.

I'd love to find something that was as rewarding as Here I Stand. Not only was the game excellent, but the window into a period of history I knew only in broad brushstrokes was revelatory. Since you've probably got more sense of this recommendations welcome. Is Thirty Years War any good? I remember getting interested in Clash of Empires once upon a time, but it was so damned fiddly with charts to figure out which charts to consult-exhausting. Would even be up for HIS if we could scare up 4 others. I love burning debaters...

568 8/8/2019 8:12:00 AM Spring 1865 Confederate Message Very disappointing for you. You did this turn with Grant what you should have done last turn with Pope and cut my link to Little Rock.

Two things, you still don't maximize the use of your Navy to try and spread me out, and indeed, marching your two armies to the same area made it easier for me to defend.

And the other thing is you need to consider to go for the large battles to eliminate larger chunks of my forces, even though you may take the SW hit, but looking now, I am very thin.

Speaking of. Is it really historical that the Confederates had a surfeit of cav bde.s, but the Union hardly had any? Seems wrong. Sure C had the better gens, but usually had overwhelming resources. Seems strange that their armies are often crippled by lack of cavalry even if the leader was ineffectual.

May not be discarded by the Union. Union must use this card as an OC. If at the conclusion of movement, a Union SP is not on or adjacent to Grand Ecore, LA, then the Union loses 5 SW points. If a Union SP is in one of the objective spaces then a Union PC marker can immediately be placed to convert the space or spaces. Remove from deck if Union plays card.

This is basically hopeless. I think it's just too hard to take a fortified resource space. You'd have to dedicate an entire turn and have 15+CU to burn on the effort. 537 7/26/2019 1:16:00 PM Spring 1865 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #102: 3 / First Manassas
Confederate Player may move 2 SPs using Strategic Movement from the same space using rail connections only (5 space maximum) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. OR play this card as an automatic 2 space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during the intercept.
