272 5/23/2019 12:35:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Japanese Message National Status:
No change, but added Alaska Occupied marker to T3, as it was occupied then (Journal Entry 151).

Attrition:
38th Army (Rangoon) is flipped.
[27th Army] (Attu/Kiska) is eliminated.
M Bde (New Georgia) is flipped.

I think that is everyone.

Political Will:

PoW was not met. -1 PW now, +3

That should be End of the Turn.

You're up for Reinforcements.
271 5/23/2019 11:51:00 AM Sep-Dec 1942 Japanese Message Sigh... probably should have rethought that attack a bit more and held back the 38th instead of the plane. Eh... but then would have only done 38LF to you and maybe you could have done another flip with a 1.5x or 2x result and forced me to retreat. Also, less than pleased with the air losses, but I knew that going in... had to pin those other ground units to ensure you didn't bring them in... Ah... I'll kill myself with hindsight on this... but things to think about for future games. =)

I also knew I could overstack and send a unit to the turn track, which was sort of what I wanted to do, but forgot the detail that you need to start with air units... so, I'm going to take a flip on the 38th with attrition... which was bad planning on my part.

Regardless, yes, I will apply damage to the 13AF.

PBM:

[4AD] stays in Bangkok
25AF returns to Tarakan
and South HQ generals are weeping over the loss of the 3AD.

I'll process End of turn stuff soon.

Message from Japanese:
South HQ Generals, angered by the death of Adm. Yamamoto and the pending doom of the 27th in Attu/Kiska, and seizing the opportunity to attack without Central Command approval, rashly launch an all out assault against Rangoon hoping to break the back of the British in the region.

I do hear you though on choices... I wanted to put the ISR card in FO... and probably should have... and in retrospect, why I didn't put Tokyo Rose in Attu/Kiska is beyond me... but these choices are part of the reason I love this game... and my compliments to you on a great game so far. Play prior to one battle of the Offensive that is within 11 hexes of Tokyo (3706) and within extended range of a Japanese air unit. The Japanese player eliminates two Allied naval steps (Japanese player's choice, may not eliminate a unit unless there is no other option), while reducing the Japanese air unit whose range was used one step (even if this would eliminate the air unit). 185 5/8/2019 2:22:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Moderator Message Ok, through experimentation with a test game, I figured out how best to handle this.

1) Mark, go ahead and randomly discard 7 cards from your hand. The cards will go into the log so I know which ones they are.
2) With my moderator privileges, I will manipulate the card deck and put those discarded cards back into the Allied deck.

That's it. In the test game I was messing with, all these manual discards didn't all just come back into the hand at the next draw, so I don't have to set the deck to reshuffle. This is a good thing, because on a reshuffle, *all* the discards are shuffled back in.

Shoot me an email when you've randomly discarded 7 cards and I'll do my thing.
