The three remaining strongpoints behind the beaches can spot all 5 hexes of Americans -- and so they can spot for 8 guns that are in land plus the 3 strongpoints each get to shoot too (albeit at adjacent units). That gives me 11 shots at 5 hexes -- 3 of which are overstacked and therefore that much easier to hit. 51.10 is the only target hex where I do not get a terrain bonus or an overstack bonus. Let me see if I can get this all recorded and submitted. . .

First -- the U.S. only has 16 units that can bombard on Turn 1, 6 Naval and 10 Air. And to make matters worse, the Air has to pass a 50-50 roll. If you roll a 4 - 6, then one of the 10 airstrikes are effective. That leaves you with just 6 naval shots and 5 of those 6 are 3 factor units, so you have an expected value of about 3 damaging hits. Even if the 10 air are effective, that gives you 16 shots with an expected hit value of 11. So 6 damaging hits. That is not enough to get rid of the 4 strongpoints on the beach, so most of the beach area is going to be spotted for all the German artillery sitting inland. . .
