312 6/19/2019 4:48:00 PM Turn 1 Scott Goehring Message The Divisional level guns are almost all solid yellow. But the short range (3 hex range) regimental guns (8th, 12th, and 22nd) have no yellow at all. Also 87 Chem has no yellow (it is a 4 factor, range of 5 gun).

Same for the Germans, mostly short range guns are the ones without yellow. All the heavier higher level stuff seems to be yellow.

Does that help?

When you look at the unit symbol key, of course they give no examples of this. All artillery, to further the confusion, has yellow around the artillery symbol in the center, but they ALL can't be yellow coded. Your thoughts?

308 6/17/2019 9:33:00 PM Turn 1 Scott Goehring Message We appear to be reading the para differently. You are reading that your roll of "1" gives you 3 attacks total.

I am reading it that your roll of "1" gives you three dice to roll (and sum up) to learn the number of airstrikes you get. Thus when you subsequently rolled 5, 5, 5 on your three shots, I used it to illustrate that 5 + 5 + 5 = 15 airstrikes. But you have to divide that by 2 since only one U.S. board is in play and apply the rounding rule, so you wind up with 8 airstrikes for the turn, not the 3 you thought.

If you had rolled a 5 or 6 on the original roll, your interpretation would give you 1 airstrike. Mine would give you one dice to roll and thus you would have the possibility of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 airstrikes before halving and rounding.

Had you rolled a 2-4, your interpretation would have given you 2 airstrikes. Mine would have given you two dice to roll (and total) to determine how many airstrikes you get before halving and rounding.

Forget the 10 airstrikes per board in the preliminary bombardment. That is not germane to the daily airstrikes available. From a historical perspective, there has to be more than 3 airstrikes per board possible during an entire day.

Again, 1.12 gives you 3, 2, or 1 DIE -- it does not give you 3, 2, or 1 airstrike. You then roll the given number of dice and add them together to figure out how many you get each turn.

If you don't want the extra airstrikes, I can't make you take them. But I am certain my interpretation on this is correct. Could this have been more clearly written??? Yes.

Just a crazy number of dr's, even for a 1/4 or so of the map. Even with multiple players, there is a lot to do. I'll let you respond about the airstrikes, and then I will do my barrage.

Yes, on the opening airstrikes, if the weather is clear, you get 10, but it does not say anything about it on the passage you quoted, just the AWARDING AIR STRIKES EQUAL to the number rolled, which was three.

Yeah, I was naive and followed the Turn 4 instructions that said "Weather/Air Strikes" even though they didn't happen until later.

1.12 under Roll 1 or less states "Light overcast 3 dice for airstrikes.

Then go up to 1.11 2nd sentence states "Roll once for the CW and once for the US using the number of dice indicated by the weather (1.12), AWARDING AIR STRIKES EQUAL to the number rolled.

This method allows U.S. airstrikes on two boards to vary between 1 and 18 air strikes per turn depending on the weather and the result of the subsequent dice roll (varying between 1 and 9) if only one US board is in play. Using your method, you would never get more than 3.

So first you roll one die to determine the weather -- and that roll then determines if you roll 1, 2, or 3 dice (independent rolls) for both the CW and US. Since only board A is in play, we don't need a CW roll and any U.S. roll is halved (and then any fraction is rounded back up.

Don't forget you can use up to two air strikes per target -- so you can double up if you want to and you only must pre-designate if you are placing more than one plane per target.

By rolling a 1, you earned the right to roll three dice and then total up that role. divide by 2 and round up. Given your next three rolls were 5, 5, 5 -- that should have given you 15 airstrikes, divided by 2 since there is only one of two American boards in play = 7.5, round up to 8. So you should have had 8 airstrikes.

I also think you are shortchanging yourself on the glider landings. There are 7 units to land by glider -- on the specified LZs. None of those 7 need to roll to see if they make it down. They all make it down. They just roll for direction and distance and then for landing casualties. So it looks like you flipped a couple of units BEFORE rolling for direction and distance. Those step losses you would not have to take.
