503 6/24/2019 7:34:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message I'd lke to play once more. For me it's interesting to play with you. If you want a stronger opponent, of course, you have to play with other players. It's OK. So, it is your choice. Create a new game, and if you'd like select me or another player as opponent. Always ready to play with you!
502 6/24/2019 6:26:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message I'ld certainly like to play another game, but maybe you prefer to play another opponent, to see how things can be done differently and to try out what you've learned so far in our games (a lot, I would say).
501 6/24/2019 6:21:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message This big Roman stack in Ariminum is called the 'roadblock-strategy' or just roadblock. if you play other players, you'll see it is used a lot. It's a good, defensieve position. As carthaginian you can either
-do nothing, keep Hannibal in Gallia Cisalpinia. This is a viable strategy, but risky, since Rome grows stronger and bascically hope for good cards in the last tur or so to win on province-count
-circumvent the roadblock by passing the Apenines and invading Etruria. This is best done when you have some unopposed moves (due to Messenger Intercepted or Philips or some counter veent that had been played) to make the ground save there. You did so during this game, but for some reason you fled back over the Alps.
-attack the roadblock: this certainly can be done, but first you need a safe haven to retreat or withdraw to, so you absolutely need to convert Mutina. Which you never did in our game. You can attack from Mutina, see what bc's you have, and if you don't like them, withddraw. This is very doable against a '2' consult, Fabius with his '3' battle rating makes this strategy not without risk.

Sieging Rome: you need the siege train. -2 drm is just too punishing.

500 6/24/2019 5:43:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message So, Congratulations! Nevertheless it' s your victory! So, Carthage didn't lose the battles, but lost the political influence.
2 questions, if you permit.
Was it wiser to battle agains 15 Romans in Ariminium?
And another question: should I better siege Rome in my last moves?

Yes, quiet game.
I think you weren't aggresive enough with Hannibal. He did not fight one major battle, which is very atypical. He's the best asset you have after all.
Also, crossing the Alps only in 216 or 215 doesn't set enough pressure on the Romans in my view. Rome gets stronger as the game progresses, carthage can't be too passive. Just my thoughts of course.
497 6/24/2019 5:20:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message So, think we lose, but it was a very peaceful game! Diplomacy rules the world!
