684 7/5/2019 5:28:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Thanks. You too. Buy!
683 7/5/2019 5:26:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message Same to you and your family.
I don't have much time either, but I'll try to get a move in from time to time.
Have a nice weekend!
682 7/5/2019 5:23:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Health to your kids and family! I have 2 kids, 4 and 1 year old.. So almost impossible to play at home when they are active. So, I can only play when they sleep, or at my job. Still trying to play Wilderness this week. But practically no time for it.
681 7/5/2019 5:16:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message 46, three kids.

Oh, one last thing: put that roadblock in Ariminum, not Mutina. Mutina is easier circumvented. Trust me, I've been on the receiving end
680 7/5/2019 5:14:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Simple curiosity: how old are you? I'm 38
679 7/5/2019 5:11:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message "Why it was better to try in Spain? The result would be the same. No cards to even flip enouth pc. 3 provinces= 3 cards to occupy, and 3 cards value 3 to flip. And I had only 1. So no chances to win in Spain."

Because you take the initiative and you force me to respond. Time spent in defending Spain can't be used for an offensive in Italy. Most likely it wouldn't have worked -I had good cards for a last turn- but it would have put me under more pressure than by what happened now. My thoughts of course.
678 7/5/2019 5:11:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Thank you for the game! It was very interesting. My congratulations! Ready to play in August. Have a nice rest!
677 7/5/2019 5:06:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message Don't despair. One day you'll win. I advice you to play against some different oponents and kick their asses, as they say :-)
I'll be glad to play HRC against you in the (near) future if you like to
676 7/5/2019 5:06:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Why it was better to try in Spain? The result would be the same. No cards to even flip enouth pc. 3 provinces= 3 cards to occupy, and 3 cards value 3 to flip. And I had only 1. So no chances to win in Spain.
675 7/5/2019 5:04:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message So 12-7 I think.
That's not really a good reflection of how tight this game was. Well played.
674 7/5/2019 5:02:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Play Strategy card as Operations #2: 3 / Sicilia Revolts
(Both) If your opponent has control of Sicily, remove all his non-walled PCs in that province which are not stacked with his CUs.

Message from Carthage:
flip cosae, carales
673 7/5/2019 5:01:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Play Strategy card as Event #34: 3 / Major Campaign
(Both) MOVE ANY THREE GENERALS. Each General can move up to four spaces with 10 combat units.

Message from Carthage:
1) Hannibal to Cosae
2) Mago sails to carales with 1 cu; -2-1-1-1, so he arrives
672 7/5/2019 5:00:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message I doubt it. With Capua flipped, you have to win back 3 provinces with 3 cards left.
And that leaves me the time to make trouble in one of the Isles.
671 7/5/2019 4:59:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Play Strategy card as Event #35: 2 / Diplomacy
(Both) Convert any one non-walled, non-tribal enemy PC Marker in a space without an enemy CU into a friendly PC Marker.

670 7/5/2019 4:59:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message If Scipio wons in terventum, I could have a chance
669 7/5/2019 4:59:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Play Strategy card as Operations #16: 2 / Gallic Recruits
(Carthage) Place two Carthaginian CU's with any General located in Gallia Transalpinia or Cisalpinia

Message from Carthage:
PC Faesulae, Iberus
668 7/5/2019 4:57:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message Well, maybe not. But returning Scipio all the way from Emporiae took a lot of time. And Fabius has the capacity to slow Hannibal down.

This game was a good example of how difficult it it to drive Hannibal from italy even with Africanus on the map and a big surpluss in cu's.

Anyway, good game.
As said, I'll take a break from Hannibal till August.

667 7/5/2019 4:54:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Play Strategy card as Operations #27: 2 / I have come into Italy ...
(Carthage) Play if Hannibal is in Italy. Convert two Roman non-walled PCs into Carthaginian PCs in any space in Italy which does not contain Roman CUs.

Message from Rome:

666 7/5/2019 4:53:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message With Scorpio only? No naval cards practically. And you could do what you want in Italy. 2 provinces in Spain was the maximum.
665 7/5/2019 4:51:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Play Strategy card as Operations #52: 2 / Pestilence
(Both) One opposing Army currently besieging a city must roll on the Attrition Table with a +1 die roll modifier.

Message from Carthage:

664 7/5/2019 4:50:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message No chances for rome
663 7/5/2019 4:50:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message yes, Rome's cause is lost. Wouldn't have been better to have gone for Spain this last turn?
662 7/5/2019 4:50:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Play Strategy card as Operations #10: 2 / Macedonian Reinforcements
(Carthage) Place two Carthaginian CU's in any friendly controlled port in Africa or Italy. May only be played while Philip V of Macedonia is allied with Carthage.

Message from Rome:

661 7/5/2019 4:49:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message No, but I had 3 Reserves, so was practically unbeatable
660 7/5/2019 4:48:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message This was the last chance for me. Did you have more probe cards?
659 7/5/2019 4:48:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Play Strategy card as Event #25: 2 / Capua Sides with Carthage
(Carthage) If the Carthage controls 3 or more Italian provinces Capua is converted to Carthaginian control and all Roman CUs inside are eliminated.

652 7/5/2019 4:41:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message No you can't withdraw. The first space the attacker has to withdraw to is the space he attacked from, in this case Sena. But Sena has carthaginian PC, so that's not possible. Scipio is in trouble I'm affraid

See 16,4, point 4
16.3 Restrictions on Withdrawals ! A withdrawing army may not split up. ! An army may not withdraw across a mountain pass (either type), strait or by sea. ! You may not withdraw into a space containing an enemy PC marker or enemy CU. ! You may not withdraw into the space from which the enemy army entered the battle space. If the original attacker withdrawals, then he must withdraw to the space from which he advanced. ! You may not withdraw into a space containing a non-friendly tribe.
