You are correct.
77 7/9/2019 6:19:00 PM 217 BC Carthage Message I can just list the names in the future.

No need, I've got it now, thanks. :)

74 7/8/2019 9:20:00 PM 218 BC Rome Message Mago is still in Oristano yes? he does not get removed from ordinary attrition.
73 7/8/2019 5:14:00 PM 218 BC Rome Message I'm fine with the Romans using whatever method they desire, I just want to make sure I understand it.

So a roll of 1 means Publius Scipio, 2 is Longus, etcetera.

But since you took Longus on a roll of '1', I assume you'll always be skipping over the Proconsul when counting? So if Nero were Proconsul, you'd have 5 = Marcellus, 6 = Varro, 7 = Paulus?

And then based on the 2nd die bringing Fabius on a '3', you do not skip over the Consul from die #1 when counting (since you didn't go "PScipio and Longus chosen, so now 1 = Flaminius, 2 = Fabius")?

If that's how you want to do it, great, I'm just being a little OCD (maybe too much so) about getting the method down to prevent a conflict later.

Yes, I think you have it as intended.

I can just list the names in the future. Had I listed them it would look like what is shown below.

Publius Scipio - Skipped because he is pro-consul

The die roll will correspond with the number below to select to consuls.
1 - Longus
2 - Flaminius
3 - Fabius
4 - Marcellus
5 - Nero
6 - Varro
7 - Paulus

So, I rolled a 1 and a 3. Longus and Fabius.

72 7/8/2019 4:19:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message I believe we are ready to advance the turn and deal cards now?
71 7/8/2019 4:19:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message My reinforcements:

1 in Carthage, now Hanno/1
2 in New Carthage, + Mago, now Mago/2
1 in Boii, now Hannibal/Gisgo/7[1E]
70 7/8/2019 4:17:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message I'm fine with the Romans using whatever method they desire, I just want to make sure I understand it.

69 7/8/2019 1:22:00 PM 218 BC Rome Message Also, the die roll corresponds to each box for each general in order form left to right. So a roll of 1 means Publius Scipio, 2 is Longus, etcetera.

Please let me know if there is any ambiguity inherent in my process or explanations that needs further coordination between us so we can have clarity. I am happy to use another method if you prefer.

Thank you!
68 7/7/2019 11:01:00 PM 218 BC Rome Message I am not sure how to explain the consul die roll. Here is my attempt.

There were 7 from which to choose. I rolled a seven sided die.

Had I rolled two of the same number, I would have rolled a new 6 sided die for one of the remaining 6.

Please share with me any confusion about that.
67 7/7/2019 10:57:00 PM 218 BC Rome Message yes on the provinces. Each with 9.

66 7/7/2019 8:21:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message That helps make up for it. Still Hasdrubal/5 there.

63 7/7/2019 8:20:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message I believe we each have 9 provinces - I have 4 in Africa, 4 in Spain, and then Gallia Cisaplinia.

Either way I'll go ahead and do attrition in C/S
62 7/7/2019 8:19:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message That Consul roll was a bit ambiguous - sounds like you skip the consul when counting both dice, but don't skip the first selection when counting the second die? That's fine in the future and let's just keep Longus/Fabius, but I want to make sure that's how you're planning on doing it every time and that I had the system down right.
61 7/7/2019 8:15:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message I assume you still wanted to play your "Counsels Carthage" as the event?
60 7/5/2019 10:00:00 PM 218 BC Rome Message I see the count as 9 Roman and 8 Carthage

No battle cards.

Elephant roll
35 7/4/2019 9:57:00 PM 218 BC Carthage Message OK just checked on the attrition and I did lose 1 CU and then lost 3 (1E) so yes I have 6 CU (1E) left so battle is currently 11:12

In the order of battle, both of declare battle cards or lack thereof before I decide whether my elephant will charge. I doubt it'll affect my decision though, so I'll go ahead and declare the charge. Over to you to play elephant fright or not and then if not, roll the die for the charge (however, if you are playing your last card to affect the battle, please declare that before the elephant roll).
34 7/4/2019 7:22:00 AM 218 BC Rome Message Don't you have an elephant to roll as well or do you chose not to roll for it?
