614 2/14/2020 6:16:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Its true that the USA can be blocked up in Little Rock/Columbus/Dover/Nashville making it difficult for them to move forward in the west.

Its definitely worth trying to take MO and KY as both sides. The USA can try and get through in Columbus KY as well - that can be quite hard for the CSA to defend. Once that is open, its hard for the CSA to defend the Mississippi.

It can also be very hard for the USA to breakthrough in the east. Richmond being fortified can really make the east very hard to take (particularly with the crap leaders early on), but I've seen games where the USA can attrition the CSA down quite quickly with those large battles.

For the CSA they need to target getting 3 space in one or more USA states - this is easiest to achieve around Washington, through Pittsburg and through Louisville

612 2/14/2020 6:08:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message A game of BtB then a return to For the People; if that's ok? I'll set up.

With regard to FtP, I see that you are very proactive with the CSA as an attacking force in the early part of the game. I think this makes sense. I've always been too defensive from the start when playing the CSA. Also, I think too much attention to attack in the western theatre by the Union can be a mistake; better to set up strong defensive lines with forts and inhibit the CSA. Breaking the CSA in east is key to success. Thoughts?

Have you played Illusions of Glory? I have the boxed game but haven't played it yet.

611 2/14/2020 5:35:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message I know a lot of people think that getting to 5 blockade is fatal for the USA, I'm not so convinced. Losing Richmond is much more serious I think.

I'm OK its your choice as to what you want to play - BtB for swapping sides with FtP or indeed something else

610 2/14/2020 5:32:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message ok, at last I grind out a win with the Union! I had a succession of Blockade event cards in the early part of the game which really helped. Another, with a swap of sides?

Otherwise,I'm up for a game of B to Berlin, if you prefer.

Let me know.
