What I think it all means is that the Allied unit must move adjacent to the ? unit hex or into the ? unit hex using regular MPs. If upon moving into the ? units hex it turns out to be a 0-0-0 then the Allied unit could continue on as with extended movement.

So the Allied units that crossed the Son are OK where they are - they had enough regular movement to move into the 0-0-0 and so then they could continue on with extended.

So you will send a corrected log?

OK, at least for turn 1, it sounds like the 'optimal' protocol for the Germans is to NOT attempt to blow until the Allies actually attempt to cross the bridge, in the case of a lone unit cruising by. Definitely a subtlety I was not aware of! In this case, WRT 5019/5119, we'll proceed with my log with the main difference being you haven't yet rolled for the 5118/5219 bridge, you can do so during your turn without the -1 DRM.

5121: The defender in 5222 turned out to be a 0-0-0; my Americans got to 5121 via advance after combat, not movement. Sorry for not being clear; I didn't list it as a combat since there really was nothing to resolve. Going forward, I'll be more explicate in these situations.

MW - 25.3.1 says you cannot enter the hex using extended movement. 8.2.2 says you cannot move adjacent to an enemy unit (? are enemy units) using extended movement. Also, 25.2.1 explicitly says you cannot use extended to move adjacent to ? unit.

MW - Agree. The Germans will always try to blow the bridge went Allies try to cross or if they take possession of both sides of a bridge. So the 82nd BD uses 3rd MP to try to cross, the bridge blows up, it “bounces back” and still has 1 MP left.
TG - “The 2/505/82 and 1/505/82 cannot get to hex 5120. I agree but, replaying my log I show them in 5121, NOT 5120.”
MW - Sorry my typo. They cannot get to 5121 (only 3MPs).

Yes, sorry about that. Because of the unknown units however, I couldn't really 'replay the turn' since I rolled in ACTS. I'll plan my move in more detail going forward before doing things in a log file that can't be cleanly undone.

I agree but, replaying my log I show them in 5121, NOT 5120.

I thought I was allowed 9 steps AND a free stacking unit, an error on my part.

Proposed correction:
1504: Put 30C bridging unit in 1303.
1404: Have the two recon units, 2WG (1404) and 2HC (1303), swap places, this gets me to 9 steps in 1404.

Does this make sense? If so, I'll send a move correction log file. I'm open to other suggestions, of course.

I think the German player would only want to try blow bridges if the Allies actually try to cross the bridge or when the Allies take possession of both sides of the bridge. Especially on T1 with the -1 DR penalty. So...

* 82nd BD unit that moved from 4819 to 5118: German player does not have to attempt to blow the bridge unless Allies actually try to cross. Moving next to the bridge does not automatically trigger attempt to blow bridge. Trying to cross does. This means that the BD unit does not have the MPs needed to force the bridge roll on 5118/5219 bridge so it does not get "tested".

* 3809/3909, 3709/3810, 3006/3105 bridges same issue.

* If the 1st BD unit the checks out the 6010/6110 RR bridge it has to cross the bridge. It has enough MPs to do so.

101st units in 2907 cannot use extended movement. Need to back up to 3008.

Not trying to be a pain but during movement can you try to move the units in the order needed to avoid stacking penalty. I had to wind/unwind the 30th corps movement a few times to see if any of the mechanized units went overstacked and would have to use tactical movement.

The 2/508/82 moving 2 spaces then moving the third space after the 101st an 1st moved was a little confusing. The 2/505/82 and 1/505/82 cannot get to hex 5120.

I think 1504 and 1404 are overstacked at the end of movement.

I don't know if the bridge blowing would cause you to do anything differently.
