429 10/24/2019 3:15:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message of course Napoleon the 1st (me as France)
428 10/23/2019 5:02:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message So, we play another Napoleon with you as the French?
I donwloaded the rules of No Peace withour Spain. The period interests me a lot. I'll let you know when I'm ready to go. There's a follow-up game coming out just now: The Pragmatic War, about the war of the Austrian Succesion. Looks good too. Thenn form the same maker as Hannibal there is also a game in the pipeline about Caesar's conquest of Gaul (Caesar: Rome vs Gaul) which should be fine too.
427 10/23/2019 9:35:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message To the Last Man (among the last I read the rules), Bonaparte at Marengo (like a chess, but interesting to try), Maria (i began to play it solo, needs 3 players).
I'll play any from these. Very much want to try Maria as I've read many interesting sessioins of this game. so, you decide.
426 10/23/2019 9:20:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message Well, I was planning of course to sail to Africa, but simply lacked the cards. Can't be helped. You've understood this game really quick and now are a daunting opponent to play against and I'm looking forward to doing just that in the future. But for the moment I'ld like to take a break from Hannibal (have two recover from 2 defeats! It's a very long time ago indeed since that happened) and try something different. Another Napoleon sounds great, Rommel also great, the Spanish game you mentioned looks promising too. I'll look into it. Other games on my want to play list: Eastfront, Bobby Lee, To the Last Man, Bonaparte at Marengo, Gettysburg: Badges of Courage, Maria, Triumph & Tragedy.....
We'll find something.
425 10/23/2019 8:31:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message Ready to play another game in Hannibal and Napoleon (think you'll win today the battle at Bruxelles).
We may try to play Romel, but latter after at least 2 games in Waterloo.
424 10/23/2019 8:27:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message I spent long time thinking about moves, but cards have their plans. So, they are (if you get them) a big part of the game. I think the game is luck-dependent, but very wonderful to play. One more game?
P.S. If you are interested in card-driven games, i'd like to play No Peace without Spain. It is similar to Hannibal, but 2 events are played before the moves. Players hold only action cards (1-3 points). Areas are conquered spending 1 movement point, combat similar to that in Wilderness War. If you ever interested to play it, tell me.
423 10/23/2019 8:19:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message I have only 2 3point cards (Minor campaign) and was very in trouble what to do if you sail to Africa. I thought you have them all. I have no events cards (only reinforcements), so I thought you hold Diplomacy, Messenger or revolts. I thought to move Hasdrubal to Cisalpina and to return Mago in Spain. Thank you for the game. It was very interesting.
422 10/23/2019 7:04:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message I give up. Funnily enough I don't have any 3-ops cards in my hand which means I can't sail. Even if I would succeed in chasing Hannibal from the South of Italy (which seems unlikely) there is no way to chase Mago from Corsica & Sardinia and no possibility to gain an extra province. So Rome is doomed. Well played, congratulations.
