77 11/12/2019 5:15:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message I placed my reinforcements. Can you cite the rule for establishing an LoC in a Riverine box? I can't find it and I assumed it was able to be traced from Nashville over rail to Bowling Green.

75 11/12/2019 3:46:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Each lose one but Attacker wins with asterisk. Leave one SP and place PC in Ironton, move to St. L, drop one SP, return to Ironton. That ends the Strategy phase. KY will go Union and MO will go rebel. Will do PC and attrition then over to you.

72 11/12/2019 3:35:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #23: 2 / Bermuda Blockade Surge
Confederate immediately receives two SPs in any open Blockade Runner Port, no more than one SP per port, but more than 1SP per Blockade zone is permitted. If insufficient ports are available, the excess SPs are lost.

Message from Confederate:
Defender had an additional +2 in the last battle due to attacker out of supply, but it made no difference in result, and due to the supply situation and your 5-1 odds, neither of us would need to make a general casualty check.

Anyway, activating the Rebel AoT which moves to Greenville. Medium battle at 5-1 with +2 for generals =+6. With no defender modifiers, Attacker will automatically take 1 loss, and inflict at least 2, so no rolls needed (odds mean no general casualty possible).
71 11/12/2019 9:04:00 AM Fall 1861 Union Message AoT retreats back to Mufreesboro. Pemberton goes to TT.

Message from Union:

67 11/11/2019 5:31:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Wait, I think I did reduce aaoT. It should be at 5sp in any case.
66 11/11/2019 3:52:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Please reduce AoT by one SP, which I forgot in log file. Thanks.
65 11/11/2019 3:49:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Attacker takes one loss, defender loses both SP, Banks to turn track. Spend last MP on converting New Madrid back to the Southern Cause after its brief Yankee occupation. Over to you.

63 11/11/2019 3:46:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #59: 2 / Farragut
Union may make a naval more with up to three SPs plus one general. Move may pass one ungarrisoned fort without “running the guns” to conduct an amphibious assault (may not pass an ironclad). Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.

Message from Confederate:
Activate AoT, which leaves Price and 2SP in Columbus, moves to Humboldt, Memphis, picks up SP, then Madison, Elizabeth, New Madrid.
62 11/11/2019 1:07:00 AM Fall 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #6: 1 / Ambush
Target any enemy cavalry general not located with an army and make a casualty die roll. On a die roll of 1-3 the cavalry general is killed, on a die roll of 4-6 there is no effect.

Message from Union:
Yeah, it's that time of the year. Built up another Fort, this time in Cairo.
61 11/8/2019 3:01:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #47: 3 / CSA Recognizes KY, MO, MD and DE
Confederate places a total of two SPs in any single space in KY, MO, MD or DE that contains a general or army in these states. The space can be controlled by either side or neutral and does not require a LOC. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
I stand corrected. Sorry for the delay but it was a hellish week at work. Placed 2 SP in AoT in Columbus, KY.
60 11/6/2019 10:18:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/275709/forward-richmond-card

Bottom comment, from Herman himself.
59 11/4/2019 2:55:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Thanks for catching the SW cost which I again forgot. Re your last card, as AoP is within 4 spaces of Richmond (using link from DC to Manassas) I'm pretty sure you need to do the event. Assuming I'm correct, AoNV will try to retreat to Culpeper.
58 11/3/2019 3:53:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #3: 1 / Forward to Richmond
Union may activate any Union army within 4 spaces of Richmond, VA. The army must enter Richmond or move as close to Richmond as possible, but may convert spaces to maintain an LOC. All SPs associated with the army must be moved (no dropping off SPs), except 1 SP may be left if the Army began its movement from a fort (if last SP, move completed). If played by the Confederate, he draws a card from the Union hand which is discarded, and the Union player follows the instructions of this card as his next card play.

Message from Union:
Built a fort in New Madrid. I also lowered your SW by 2, as A. Johnston is on the board in Dover with higher PR.
57 11/3/2019 11:16:00 AM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #74: 2 / Political Crisis
The Union player may remove or demote one Union general for no SW cost. The cost for promoting a general with a lower political value still applies. OR remove ANY Union non-commanding general (even second in commands) from the game.

Message from Confederate:
Create AoT in Columbus.
56 11/3/2019 1:31:00 AM Fall 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #33: 1 / Orphan Brigade
Confederate immediately receives one SP in any friendly or neutral space (no LOC is required) in Kentucky that is free of Union SPs.

Message from Union:
Fort in Paducah.
55 11/2/2019 2:15:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #29: 2 / Crittenden Compromise
Union places (or flips in border states) two PC markers in any spaces free of Confederate SPs or forts which are not Resource spaces, Blockade Runner Ports, or Coastal forts. Void after Emancipation Proclamation. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
Activate J.Johnston who takes Pemberton, Van D, and 3 SP, moves to Clarksville, Nashville - drops Pemb. and 1SP, then back to Clarksville, Dover, Mckenzie, ends in Columbus.
54 11/1/2019 3:26:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message I see it now. Move adjusted, PCs in Bowling Green and Somerset w/ AoT. Always found point to point worse than areas or hexes for spotting terrain, personally.
53 11/1/2019 2:33:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Re SW, I think I may have lost SW from a blockade roll, but then I gained 5 from West Virginia. As far as moving into Nashville, since there is a Confederate fort the Union can't cross the river to enter the space per 6.24.
52 10/31/2019 8:03:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message I got a little confused in the log because the SW track didn't seem updated? I could have sworn CSA had lost some in this game previous.
51 10/31/2019 8:01:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #122: 3 / Crisis in the West
If two or more Confederate armies are in Virginia, the Confederate player places (Confederate choice) one army (placed, not moved) in a Confederate controlled Resource space (destroyed or not), Riverine port, or Blockade Runner port (open or closed) in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, or Texas. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:

50 10/31/2019 3:52:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #44: 2 / Western Virginia

OR Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5 Remove from deck if event is played.

34 10/22/2019 7:34:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message I think Bragg would need to take command of that army, and then it's -2 SW because A.Johnston is in play and has a higher political value on the map, right? Referring to 5.22

6 10/15/2019 9:14:00 AM Spring 1861 Union Message Sounds good. The other option with Generals is to assign them to numbers and make a die roll for the locations you intend to put them.

Would you like to handle this combat or should I?
5 10/15/2019 8:58:00 AM Spring 1861 Confederate Message I suggest the active player roll for potential intercepts and retreats. If one of those rolls is successful, then he can stop, end logfile, and wait for the inactive player to decide.

If the inactive player has an interrupt card, they should stop the logfile at the point they would play it, and then do their own logfile with the interrupt.

For battles, the active player should roll both sides.

I recall this module isn't the greatest; I think for placement of generals we need to specify the locations before drawing from the cup as they pop out face up, IIRC.

Does that sound right?
