Union may make a naval more with up to three SPs plus one general. Move may pass one ungarrisoned fort without “running the guns” to conduct an amphibious assault (may not pass an ironclad). Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.

I just don't see any mention of Cavalry units being treated differently than normal Generals in regards to placement, maybe I'm not seeing it, but to infer otherwise seems to clash with rule 1.4. Who knows.

Confederate receives three torpedo counters. Must be placed in a friendly controlled port, and no more than one per space. Torpedoes provide a -1 DRM against Running the Guns and a +1 DRM against amphibious assaults.

24 11/11/2019 1:02:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Generals are pulled from an opaque cup, it's a chit-pull after announcing a location. Cav Generals aren't an exception to my knowledge. It's not specified, but the example of play on page 6 infers this as well.

All generals aside from cav in base game have a uniform back so you can't see what general it is when placed. cavalary don't so you can always see them. i beleieve you can place stuart whever you want..will that change your play?
