299 6/18/2020 2:51:00 AM Fall 1862 Union Message It looks like I made a similar error for the Army of the Potomac as I did with the Army of Northern Virginia.

Before your attack on Williamsburg, there were 7 SPs in the Army of the Potomac (log 251) and 3 SPs in Hanover (log 248). After losing 2 SPs in the battle, McDowell retreated to Hanover which would take his strength back up to 8 SPs. In my Union Vassal log 5, I applied the Williamsburg losses to both sides because I didn't see that you had already done so (which is how Northern Virginia was off by 1 SP). Thus, upon play of the Seven Days concentration (log 258), railing 2 SPs would raise is strength to 10 (not 8), and all subsequent references to Potomac's strength through the remainder of the turn should be 2 higher. So,the attack was with 10 SPs, losing 3 down to 7 (instead of 5).

Since there was no more activity until the end of the turn, Potomac attrition would be 7 down to 5, instead of 5 Doreen to 4. So, Hanover has 5 SPs before Union Strategic Rail begins.

Also, your West Gulf reinforcement must land in Sabine; New Orleans is closed.
298 6/14/2020 4:56:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Message AofNV is 6 SP
297 6/11/2020 6:17:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Message I believe Army of Northern Virginia is at 6 SPs.

It started with 8 (log 220), lost 1 at the battle of Williamsburg (log 255), then another 1 at Richmond (log 260). Attrition and reinforcement cancel each other out, leaving 6.

My previous assertions that it should be 5 were based on an erroneous Union 5 Vassal log.

Please confirm.

295 6/2/2020 5:35:00 AM Fall 1862 Union Message I'll wait for your reinforcement change before my Strategic Rail
294 6/2/2020 5:34:00 AM Fall 1862 Union Message To answer your questions and also address one correction for you to make:

St. Louis is out of supply because the Union controls the Mississippi river and all tributaries down to New Orleans, so there is no LOC to Little Rock (or points south). A fort or ironclad at New Madrid or Little Rock (or Union-controlled Memphis or Columbus) would restore supply.

The cavalry brigades on the turn track are both attrition losses (see logs 280 and 282) and not new leaders. This is a common Union-only tactic because Union brigades return after one season (whereas Confederate brigades take an entire year). Technically, they should be on their leader sides, but most players just remember since they have already entered the game. Trust me, when I place them back on the board again, I will not count their SPs.

Your Tennessee reinforcement may not be in Knoxville because it is a pro-Union space (see 10.43). In fact, if you wish to reinforce Tennessee, there are only three eligible spaces: McMinnville, Crossville, or Missionary Ridge

292 6/1/2020 9:48:00 AM Fall 1862 Confederate Message Why are the 2 cavalry generals due to arrive this turn already flipped to their brigade side? Where are the 2SP to be removed on order to flip them to the brigade side?
291 6/1/2020 9:39:00 AM Fall 1862 Confederate Message Ignore the message on Decatur - found the answer
290 6/1/2020 9:33:00 AM Fall 1862 Confederate Message Why isn't the connection between Decatur and Jackonsville (labelled Confederate only) sufficient to provide a LOC to the CSA armies in TN?
289 6/1/2020 9:05:00 AM Fall 1862 Confederate Message St Louis will flip as it does have a LOC to Sabine City and open blockade port.
288 6/1/2020 5:41:00 AM Fall 1862 Union Message Ok, but many SW changes are two-sided (large battles, destroyed resource centers, and Confederate forts)

Buell and Smith died in the battle of Dover (see logs 271 and 272). Dover is not Union-controlled because first, the Army of Mississippi attacked with 8 SPs against 6, not enough to continue movement after winning. Note, in log 269, you declare victory, but do not convert Dover. Furthermore, the Army of Mississippi does not flip Dover at the end of the turn because Dover is out of supply (also why St. Louis doesn't flip either). Supply is cut at Corinth, Chattanooga, and Tullahoma. There is no supply through Northern Alabama (rule 5.10).
287 5/31/2020 10:43:00 AM Fall 1862 Confederate Message I will also handle my own losses in a battle.
286 5/31/2020 10:41:00 AM Fall 1862 Confederate Message Why are Buell and Smith eliminated?

I prefer to do my own attrition and SW changes.

Conduct up to two moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Union:
as event
first activation, Rosecrans and 3 SPs (leaving Army with 3)

1-4. Shelbyville via Pittsburg Landing
5. drop SP (to 2) in Murfeesboro
6-7. drop SP (to 1) in Chattanooga
8. end move with 1 SP in Tullahoma
note, Nashville, Dover, and Tuscumbia are now all out of supply

second activation, Army of the Tennessee and 2 SPs, leaving 1 in Corinth

1-5. Murfeesboro, following same path as Rosecrans
6. attack Nashville with 2 SPs

small battle
Pope, +4 and no leader losses (for out of supply), automatic 1
Nashville division, +2 (automatic 1 and wins ties)

1/1 result; defenders win, but are eliminated, so Pope may occupy Nashville

Pope's loss will be the Pleasanton brigade, so Army of the Tennessee is left with 1 infantry SP

277 5/26/2020 4:09:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Message >I'm not sure what is going on.

Please review my previous answers.

>I believe 3 are still in KY

from log 265: Your move is illegal. You still may not cross the river north out of Nashville.

> and Dovershould be converted since the CSA won the battle and had enough MP's to convert.

I will cite the rule, but you did do it correctly in ACTS (i.e. you did not convert Dover).

Rule 7.32: "If the winner was the attacker and began the battle twice the strength or more of the loser, the winner can continue his movement"

Buell had 6 SPs; you attacked with less than 12

>The AofNV is 5 and the AofMS in Dover is 3 after the battle.
>I show no SP in Nashville.

from log 266: AofMis leaves 1SP in Nashville(n8) to Fraanklin. Intercept attempt?

Then, since it was a 3/3 battle, Army of Mississippi would be left with 5. Also note that since you attacked with 8, this means you reversed the 3 SPs in Kentucky, again also correctly.

>Also, the question remains why the Union still has one card left.

from log 264: Way back at the beginning of this turn, you played Guerrilla Raids to cancel my first move

Furthermore, log 223 is your play of Guerrilla Raids

Note, you redid your turn correctly in ACTS, a point I probably should have emphasized more. It's just the Vassal log that is out of sync. So, I just want your confirmation on the Vassal changes.
276 5/26/2020 8:25:00 AM Fall 1862 Confederate Message I'm not sure what is going on. I believe 3 are still in KY and Dovershould be converted since the CSA won the battle and had enough MP's to convert. The AofNV is 5 and the AofMS in Dover is 3 after the battle.
I show no SP in Nashville.
Also, the question remains why the Union still has one card left.

Can we start the turn over with new cards as a solution?
275 5/25/2020 6:33:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Message sorry, there were some discrepancies in your Vassal log that I didn't have time to examine

when I load your Vassal log, I still see your 3 SPs in Kentucky, but in ACTS, you have them in your army correctly, attacking with 8

post-battle, your Army should be at 5 (not 3 as it is in Vassal), and in Vassal, for some reason, you converted Dover when you correctly did not do so in ACTS

so, please confirm these changes for your forces
* no SPs in Kentucky
* 1 SP in Nashville (empty in Vassal)
* Army of Northern Virginia at 5
