361 1/26/2020 12:54:00 AM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #81: 3 / Emancipation Proclamation - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player must play this card as an EC on the Strategy Round immediately following a Union large or medium battle victory. Confederate loses 10 SW and 3 SPs (his choice). Union loses 5 SW. Flip GT marker to its Emancipation Proclamation side. Card must be the last one played by a player at which time it can be played as an OC card. If the play of this card as an OC results in a battle victory, there is no Emancipation Proclamation Remove from deck if event is played. If this card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at the end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Confederate:
Pass this card by without activating.
Lots of choices but I think I am going with a Fort in Jackson to make you work for it.
360 1/25/2020 2:17:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Message Something niggled about that. Evidently Belmont corps moves can't drop troops. Seems ridiculous to me, but word of Herman, so make it both CU in Louisville.
359 1/24/2020 3:40:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Event #19: 1 / Belmont
Either player may move up to two infantry SPs from the same space as if led by a General. This move is a Corps move and may enter enemy controlled spaces because the SPs are moving as if they are led by a general.

Message from Union:
I figured that was coming with your initial move. Had to hold the big card per rule.

Where the hell is Fernandia Jct?

OK, I never get this right, so pay attention so as to correct.

I'm relieving 'lil Mac and transferring him to commander of AoP. Grant takes the AoTn. Grant tied for highest PR so no additional cost.
McClellan's titanic ego costs me 10SW and the unsung Reynolds is demoted to TRT.

Would be nice if "relieving" in the sense that the commander was only transferring commands were not so harshly punished, but the SP he can generate near DC seems more valuable than the SW at this point.
349 1/23/2020 8:01:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #8: 1 / 3 Cigars
Play this card to make an automatic one or two space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during intercept.

Interrupt enemy force currently moving to no more than one space of movement. (Converting a space counts as movement.) Applies to only one move during a Major or Minor campaign card, but not a special army-naval move.

344 1/23/2020 12:37:00 AM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #20: 3 / Union Arms Production Delayed

282 1/15/2020 9:16:00 PM Summer 1863 Union Message That's what I figured, but wondered if we had different rules interpretations. I don't know how long I looked at the map until Grant AA at Dover dawned on my darkened imagination-too long. Dover falling makes most of the KY issue moot I hope.

Maybe I missed something but doesn't -4SW for C go from 75- to 71-? File had it at 72-.
281 1/15/2020 7:22:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message BTW, I will be going offline tomorrow until Sunday to MMP's Winter Offensive where I will be playing Great Campaigns of the American Civil War and I need to get Cyberboard loaded on another computer as I need to turn in my old work computer.
280 1/15/2020 7:19:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message As for KY, a little more expensive than I hoped since you got that intercept, but you basically are correct as to why I did that.

In itself, now that you have control (and since I originally had controlled cannot generate any more negative effects), KY is irrelevant.

BUT there are two very important factors. Rail line and the route to Knoxville. You had Pope there and plenty of forces to move on Knoxville. This would make it much harder to defend Nashville in conjunction with your offensive by Grant.

Now, by clearing it out, pretty much at least two more turns before that route can have any real impact so it is easier to defend against the other forces to the west.

Additionally, it will take a more significant effort on your part to open the rail line for reinforcements. Reinforcing by river is limited in its usefulness because unless you are on a port, at most you can bring 3 SP into an army.

Everything with the Confederates is about time, and although you did get Dover, not much else was accomplished and in fact I gained back spaces. Nice to wrap up MO also, but I really wasn't threatening there any more.

274 1/15/2020 12:05:00 PM Spring 1863 Union Message Still wondering what you're up to in KY. My read of the rules is that once a state (border or reb) goes Union, it never goes back. That seems confirmed by this from Dave Rubin https://boardgamegeek.com/article/24997242#24997242
However, maybe you're just making division or corps movement difficult in KY.
273 1/15/2020 10:05:00 AM Spring 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #92: 2 / Baltimore Revolts
Confederate may place a friendly PC marker in Baltimore, MD, if the space is vacant.

Message from Union:
Burnside directs rail traffic, moving 6 from DC to Wilmington, Philly and York, back to DC to shuffle another 1 to Baltimore, back to Manassas. 10 spaces total.
272 1/15/2020 7:38:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #104: 1 / Big Bethel
Either player may move up to two infantry SPs from the same space as if they were led by a General. This move is a Corps move and may enter enemy controlled spaces because the SPs are moving as if they are led by a general.

Message from Confederate:
move 2 from AOT to Lexington and Falmouth.
271 1/15/2020 12:40:00 AM Spring 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Event #114: 3 / Frederick Douglas
Union immediately receives five SPs for raising freemen Negro troops. The SPs can be placed in any single Union controlled space with a LOC in NJ, DE, PA or the space that contains the Union capital that does not contain Confederate SPs or forts. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:
Oh cool. You're opening up the Atlantic Blockade Zones for another invasion.

270 1/14/2020 11:05:00 PM Spring 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #75: 2 / Western Concentration Block
Confederate player can either remove or demote an army commander in any state except Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida for no political cost. OR Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5 Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
I will just do a "manual" Western Concentration.
Jackson with 2SP
4 spaces to Charleston, pickup 2SP
with 4SP, 6 spaces to Atlanta
total 10 spaces by rail
