343 1/28/2020 1:37:00 PM 213-212 BC Carthage Message Hey George,
Yes, if the battle went well, Hannibal would have recrossed the Alps, hopefully with minimal losses. Sardinia would have been a better choice, but I was hoping to remove your unprotected PC’s in Sicily with another card.
Again, thanks for the game!
342 1/27/2020 10:57:00 PM 213-212 BC Rome Message Thanks for the game. Tough loss at the end as you had a small edge as the attacker. Of course, with cards and initiative rolls, we're all playing the odds (like my loss to Hasdrubal where I attacked) and sometimes they don't work.

A little surprised you didn't go after Sardinia rather than Sicily. I couldn't move navally due to the Carthaginian Naval Victory. It still would have left you exposed next turn in Africa -- guess where Africanus is heading if he can. But you didn't need to risk battle.
I was also worried about Hannibal taking a stab across the alps. I had a good position, but weak leaders for intercept and other purposes.

341 1/27/2020 1:10:00 PM 213-212 BC Carthage Message I guess I should have gone with FL :-)
I cannot retreat George, and cannot sustain these losses.
I concede defeat.
Thank you for the game, and especially thank you for the help with the rules. Hope we can play again in the future!
