166 3/24/2020 2:27:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message We better call this one Tim, it's been a couple of weeks.
Thank you for giving it a shot. Maybe next time?
165 3/9/2020 6:50:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Tim,
I wish I could show you the log of the first tournament game I played with my friend Phil a few years ago. I made multiple errors on EVERY MOVE. But I kept playing, and I still make mistakes, but after about a dozen games things started to fall into place. Don't give up, this is a game of amazing depth, and well worth the effort!
164 3/5/2020 11:15:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message Tim,
Only 1 SP per state, so you can't place 1 in Dover and 1 in Nashville. Let me know which one you want to switch.

I believe this was a small battle (5SP total), so that would give us a 1*/1 result. Please confirm, and if you agree, Iíll continue the move.

Try to pick up the pace a little, as we want to get thru as much as we can before we get time called. I think you are picking up the rule stuff, and you obviously know the strategy!
149 3/1/2020 12:09:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Tim,
It looks like you rolled them in the order
1. Wheeler=3
2. Morgan=25
3. Forrest=41
You specified the high roll goes to Weldon, then Little Rock, and the low to Monroe.
That looks like Forrest goes to Weldon, Morgan goes to Little Rock, and Wheeler goes to Monroe.
Could you take another look at this and let me know if that sounds correct?

Lee to ANV is fine, but you need to roll to see where your cavalry generals end up. Of course it has to be a location with an SP, as they must immediately convert to cavalry brigades. Please roll, and Iíll play my first card.

138 2/25/2020 1:10:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message Tim,
The Union holds both Mobile, and Fort Morgan. Therefore you cannot use the Blockade Runner Port. As Fort Pickens is also Union controlled, the only Blockade Runner Port currently open in the East Gulf Zone is Columbus, GA. If you can play Card #17 you can open St. Marks for runners. See 10.52. Please confirm, and Iíll proceed with Strategic movement. Thanks!

Now we check for General casualties...

Message from Union:
In the meantime...
Beauregard intercepts into Hanover joining AONV in the process.
First roll is for Union, +1 DRM for Rosecrans.

Second roll is for CSA, +4 or 5 for Generals, +2 for interception, and +2 for Union out of supply. Lets assume you used Bragg instead of Beauregard, as either way you are guaranteed a 3 result, and Bragg decreases the chance of a 10 and possible General casualty.
The Union roll is for my attack, and is applied to CSA. The CSA roll is your defense, and is applied to the Union.
126 2/23/2020 5:26:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message Tim,
Please confirm your understanding of the 2 SP loss, and then we can move on to your Hanover interception
125 2/23/2020 3:04:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message The previous battle saw the Union roll a 6. For a medium battle that results in a loss of 2 SP. Does that make sense?
124 2/23/2020 1:16:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Si if that was a success we fight.
If that was not legal then I will try to evade into Richmond.

I will re-iterate my question from before just so it does not get lost in the shuffle of why I lost 2 at other battle?

121 2/21/2020 4:48:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #78: 3 / Personal Advisor
Either player may remove or demote from army command one general for no SW penalty. Penalties for promoting a general with a lower political value still apply. OR remove ANY non-commanding general (even second in commands) from the game.

Message from Union:

You have options here
If you retreat to Hanover I will attack Hanover. If you retreat from Hanover I will have to think about it...
If attack happens Union will be +2 for 3: odds and +1 for General.
CSA would be +4 in Fredericksburg and +6 in Hanover.

113 2/20/2020 2:12:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message A bold move!
OK, just want to confirm this:
AoP will have 8 SP as it enters Fredericksburg (having dropped 3 enroute).
AoNV has 4 SP including the cavalry.
The modifiers are 0 for the Union (no cavalry, so no +1 for McDowell)
and for the CSA +4 for Generals, +2 for interception, and +2 for Union out of supply. So +8 for CSA.
Do you want to proceed?
112 2/20/2020 1:37:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #8: 1 / 3 Cigars

OR Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. 76 2/2/2020 12:58:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Tim, back on 66-68 in the log you fought a medium battle in Somerset which the union won. That means you have to play Emancipation Proclamation as an Event. It is always a struggle for CSA when they are holding that card as it is a little bit like a live hand grenade!
Please check 4.41, and let me know if you agree.
