155 2/23/2020 11:02:00 PM 1758 Late Season Britain Message Thanks for the game. I really had fantastic cards so the Adirondacks thing worked out but in general I'm not sure it is really a viable strategy. It wasn't helping with getting at a better position for attacking Montreal and I think the British need to maintain that threat. I generally like the first fort at Adirondacks South because it gives another path between the two fronts. The other two builds were an experiment that fortunately for me worked out. I will report the result to Keith. Hope to see you at Seven Springs this year.
154 2/23/2020 8:38:00 PM 1758 Late Season France Message With that I will resign.

I can't possibly see how I could get Niagara back at this point and Ohio Forks is just a matter of time since you are adjacent to it with a Fort.

I enjoyed the game.

The move through the Adirondacks worked well for you. I need to think through better counter moves for that possibility. Maybe building a French Fort in Adirondacks North with a Fort or Stockade at St Regis in addition to the Fort at Crown Point.
153 2/23/2020 10:10:00 AM 1758 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #6: 3 / Surrender!
Play in place of a roll on the Siege Table. At Louisbourg, you must already have Siege 1 or 2. Capture the fort or fortess intact. Enemy player places defenders at his closest unbesieged fortification.

NOTE: The deck will be reshuffled before next turn's cards are dealt.

Message from Britain:
No, wait. Dumas sees the handwriting on the wall and surrenders the fort. Dumas and 2x1-4 teleport directly to Montreal. VPs go from 3 to zero.
Back to you.
152 2/23/2020 10:06:00 AM 1758 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #40: 2 / Stingy Provincial

151 2/23/2020 10:05:00 AM 1758 Late Season Britain Message OK, French win scoring 7 hits to my 5 hits. VPs to 3.

For my losses flip the 2 Highlanders, the 1 Regular, the 1 Light then remove 3 more Regulars.

Nothing else to do on this battle so I will make my next play.

Amherst will try to intercept at St-Regis with all (Dunbar, Webb, 3x[3-4]RA, 3x[2-4]Reg, 2x4-4Hi, 1x3-4Reg, 1x2-6Lt), total strength 28.
148 2/22/2020 9:58:00 PM 1758 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #10: 1 / Fieldworks
Play before Battle if you have Drilled Troops. If defending, place marker--attacker shifts 1 column left. If attacking, remove defender's marker. (Marker also removed anytime owner chooses or if attackers win.)

Message from France:
I think I am now down to desparate measures.

Montacalm's entire force activates at Montreal and attempts to Boat Move to Oswego. If I actually get there without fighting a non-overrun battle, I may go further.

Montcalm has Vaudreuil, Drucour, Rigaud, 3 x 3-4, 9 x (2-4), 2 x MD, 1 x CdB and 1 x (CdB) with him.

You have many interception and avoid battle opportunities. I will not be playing a card for any battles that result from my move and your itnerceptions.
147 2/22/2020 3:47:00 PM 1758 Late Season Britain Message For intercept attempts you are correct. Siege 0 placed and your turn. It is avoid battle where you have to say who is in or out of a fort before rolling.
146 2/22/2020 2:43:00 PM 1758 Late Season France Message It fails.

So, if I was correct in my interpretation, a Siege 0 is placed and we are over to my Card play.

If I was incorrect in my interpretation, we have a battle and I may be playing a response card for that battle.

Let me know if you agree with my rules interpretation.

Message from France:
I believe for Interception into a Fort space, I can decide whether the folks already in the space are inside or outside after I see the result of the interception attempt. If that is not correct, I will declare Dumas and the 2 x MD are outside the Fort. If I am correct, I will hold off on that decision to see whether this interception works.

The Mississauga attempt to intercept Forbes' force as he enters Niagara.

119 2/9/2020 9:55:00 PM 1758 Early Season France Message Well, I'm all but cooked now. The loss of Wolfe gave me a little hope, but I am not going to last much longer at this rate.

Flip the full strength CdB.

Eliminate the other three CdB (all three were flipped).

Eliminate 2 x MD.

Apparently the Metropolitan battalions have been practicing better hygiene.

This leave me with the following at Montreal:

Montcalm, Vaudreuil, Rgauf, Villeris, Dumas, 9 x (2-4), 3 x MD and 1 x (CdB).

118 2/9/2020 9:15:00 AM 1758 Early Season Britain Message Wow. The ACTS die roller sure wants to stay at the extremes. If this keeps up during combat we won't have any leaders left.
