390 3/6/2020 10:14:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message ok, I'll let Keith know... he monitors the ACTS games too.
389 3/5/2020 11:47:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message I assume you'll report results to the powers that be?
388 3/5/2020 11:46:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Yeah, I thought you would go for Niagara. I figured even with a 0-6 I would have a 50% chance of stopping your movement with a hit. You definitely found the highest odds option.

Losing Wolfe in his first battle is brutal. Every time I play as British I remember how tough it is to beat Montcalm without Wolfe.
387 3/5/2020 11:10:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message yes, thanks for playing and glad to help... you just need a few more practice to understand the brittleness of FR units, esp those Marines in stockades.

take care.
386 3/5/2020 11:10:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message yes, thanks for playing and glad to help... you just need a few more practice to understand the brittleness of FR units, esp those Marines in stockades.

take care.
385 3/5/2020 11:06:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message one plan was straight attack, which I believe is only 44% odds, by slowly advancing to meet Monty... but you could evade and if have your auxiliaries get a hit, my forces would be stopped...

the 3rd plan was to have Brad's force go to OCE/OCW, then place 2 stockades there... then Brad's force in OCE will go around Lake Ontario on the north side to siege Niagara... even if Drucour intercepted, Brad would have enough force to win the battle... then the last card will be Brad sieging against Dumas, needing 3 or better, so 66%.
384 3/5/2020 10:58:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message getting Wolfe killed in that first combat was depressing, after finally getting my big reinforcement... then your Shawnee got that last raid ... was shaking my head with all those permutations.
383 3/5/2020 10:55:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message wow, can't believe got the raid on the final roll!!!
and Monty rolled another 1... you have an uncanny knack for those 1...

382 3/5/2020 8:04:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Got the rolls when it mattered! Let me know if I messed anything up on that last turn, the interception/infiltration combination gets confusing. Good game, James, this was a tremendous learning opportunity and a lot of fun. You could have won by a lot more if you hadnít helped me out at a few points (not to mention had you gotten even a little bit luckier). Best of luck in the rest of the tournament and I hope we get a chance to play agains some time.

Message from France:
Montcalm Intercept roll
379 3/5/2020 8:00:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Montcalm and everyone left in St Jean will attempt intercept to Montreal. Success on 2+
378 3/5/2020 7:58:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Correction: only a lone aux unit may attempt intercept against a lone aux unit. So Levis, Rigaud and 1-6 intercept. Result is 1/0 and 1-6 flips. (0-6), Levis and Rigaud retreat to St Jean and no interception into Ile Aux is possible against the Cherokee. However, since the 1-6 was not eliminated I do not believe an overrun is possible.
377 3/5/2020 7:53:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message 1/1. Flip ranger, flip Caug, (ranger) back to Winooski

NOTE: This card was held from the 1759 Early Season turn.

NOTE: The deck will be reshuffled before next turn's cards are dealt.

Message from France:
will fight in Kahn. 3+1 v 0+1. I think the only question is whether I can get a hit on you to stop an overrun.
362 3/4/2020 6:53:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Ah, interesting, I was wondering which path you would take. I thought I was most susceptible to raids but thought it wouldnít be worth the risk to you. I wasnít counting on the rangers!

Message from Britain:

358 3/4/2020 1:34:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message ok, because you got that last lucky raid, my calculation got much wider and odds are all other the place... there are several permutations to getting 1 more VP... a 66% way, a straight attack at 28 vs 17, or this 3rd way, which may have a higher odds (but not sure)...

so here it goes...

321 2/27/2020 10:58:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message I already got all the bad luck out of the way with leader death and delayed reinf card draws... so 1/12 is very, very unlikely at this point... but if that happens, then it was not meant to be for me in this game. :-)
320 2/27/2020 10:54:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message >yes, it's a 4... I wish it was a 5, then I'll charge ahead even more! :-)

I am surprised you were willing to take the risks you did. If you rolled a 1 and I rolled a 4+ I would have eliminated your entire force! That's a 1/12 chance--not likely but not that unlikely!

You know what I just realized, there is an error in the CRT in the Vassal module. The 1 row for 28+ should be 4, not 5. I suppose I should not rely too heavily on the Vassal module rather than the actual charts that come with the game.
315 2/27/2020 10:35:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message 6/3. Elim 2x1-4, 2x(2-4) and 1-6

LOL.
300 2/27/2020 7:02:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message >And do you want to do leader loss rolls or want me to?

I was waiting for your rolls... you should always do them as the defender.
299 2/27/2020 6:25:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message And do you want to do leader loss rolls or want me to? I just donít want to duplicate.

Yeah, Iím definitely missing those troop transports now. I thought an extra 3 combat strength wouldnít make a big difference, but youíre cutting through the reduced units like they are soft French cheese!
298 2/27/2020 6:05:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message you're correct... I moved your units into the big dead pile on my board and with so many units there, thought your 1-6 CdB was already flipped.

so correction, you actually have 4x [2-4] left.
297 2/27/2020 5:57:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message >> actually, you need to remove another [2-4] for 5 hits.

1. Elim (2-4)

4. Elim (0-6)
5. Elim (2-4)
296 2/27/2020 5:34:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message which is why I said earlier that any reinf/repair card for the FR is precious because I have seen this many times for the FR on the 3rd yr where their forces are in tatters if they don't diligently repair.
295 2/27/2020 5:31:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message yeah, FR only has 3x [2-4] left!
don't know how you'll hold on ...
