Finally -- a pair of very respectable pillage recovery rolls. Catholics can remove 3 P1s. Protestants can remove 4. The Prots will remove the P1 pillage markers in Leipzig, Dresden, and Lutzen. I would like to remove the one at Wurzburg, but I can't do so under Rule 15.25 because you control the province. Let me know what pillage markers you wish to remove. I'll go ahead and draw the cards for next turn. Once you indicate what pillage markers you are removing, I will proceed with my turn. |

The DA Merc is automatically paid based upon its LOC. So Mansfeld's army at Leipzig is fully paid. I have 7 FAP's left. That's enough to pay off 3 of the 4 Mercs in Prague. That leaves 1 Merc and 1 Mil. I have to roll for looting, but there will be no DRMs applied. I won't use the last FAP. Wurzburg has no LOC, so the Merc there has to roll, as do the 1 Merc and 2 Mils in Briesach. Again, no DRMs apply in either place. Wurzburg Leipzig Briesach |

I've figured it out -- sorta. One of my played cards has disappeared from my list in ACTS, for some odd reason. However, I printed the list off at the start of the turn, which confirms that I did originally have 7 cards -- of which I've played 4 and taken one Free Action. So we are now each on our last move of the turn. |

Chris, how many cards did you have in your hand for this turn? I just noticed that I only have 6. Per Rule 6(C), there should be 7, of which we will draw all but one in the course of the 6 action rounds. It thus appears that I should draw an extra card, and you should as well if you are in the same boat. |

Sorry -- that took longer than expected. Our office is about to experience an expansion and renovation, and my floor has to be vacated by the end of this week so the rebuilding can begin. That means 15 years worth of files have to be sorted through, culled out, and packed before this weekend. You're in good shape from a pay standpoint. I have 18 FAPs, which are enough to fully pay Christian's army in Hamburg and Mansfeld's army in Leipzig. The Danes are all paid because they can trace a LOS back to Denmark. But I will have to roll on the Loot Table for Schlick's army at Prague. |

Actually, that's not quite right. Recruiting proceeds roll-by-roll under Rule 8.411; you determine what you're getting from each roll as it happens. You can't combine results from two different rolls. Thus, on your first roll, with the +1 DRM, you're at 6 = 1 (Merc), and that's your 7th unit in the stack. With the next roll (adjusted to a 10), you could get 1 Merc and 1 (Merc), but that would put you at 9 units, which is a stacking violation (8.42). Presumably, you'll take the 1 Merc. |

#5: 2 / Gregory XV Becomes Pope Playable only if Paul V is Pope. Death of Paul V. No Papal Aid to Catholic player this turn. Papal Aid resumes next turn, until Urban VIII Becomes Pope event (P-15). Message from Protestant: I'll use this to activate Christian of Denmark and his army, now released from their siege of Hamburg. They will march -- Luneberg Werben Magdeburg Torgau Dresden (drop 1 Merc) Prague. I'm still pretty busy at work through the end of next week, but it shouldn't be as bad as it was over this past week. I hope you and your family manage to find something fun, safe, and patriotically appropriate to do tomorrow! I think it's going to be pretty quiet around here, between COVID-19 and an expected high of 96 degrees. |

Actually, on second thought, if you have no objection, I'd like to remove the P1 in Prague instead. |

Well, you should know that's likely tohappen when I do the rolls. So each of us gets to remove 1 Pillage level. I will reduce the P2 in Leipzig to P1 -- the least I can do after our Mercs went on that rampage. Your choices are Linz or the two cities in Hungary. You can reduce Pilsen or Budweis because an area must be friendly or neutral to remove pillage markers in it. I'm sure we're eager to know our cards, so I'll go ahead and draw those while we wait to know which Pillage level you will remove. |
