159 8/5/2020 11:55:00 PM 1626-1627 Protestant Message Well, I finally get a better roll, but it appears the only Protestant spaces that have pillage markers in them are Leipzig (P2) and Torgau (P1). So, unless you advise me that I've missed one somewhere, I'll reduce the P2 in Leipzig to a P1 and the P1 in Torgau will be removed.

Let me know where you will remove your P1, and then we'll commence the Action Phase of Turn 4.

149 8/3/2020 11:06:00 PM 1624-1625 Protestant Message Sorry -- that took longer than expected. Our office is about to experience an expansion and renovation, and my floor has to be vacated by the end of this week so the rebuilding can begin. That means 15 years worth of files have to be sorted through, culled out, and packed before this weekend.

You're in good shape from a pay standpoint. I have 18 FAPs, which are enough to fully pay Christian's army in Hamburg and Mansfeld's army in Leipzig. The Danes are all paid because they can trace a LOS back to Denmark. But I will have to roll on the Loot Table for Schlick's army at Prague.

I'll play this for the Event, thereby receiving 18 FAPs.
144 7/26/2020 1:27:00 AM 1624-1625 Protestant Message Actually, that's not quite right. Recruiting proceeds roll-by-roll under Rule 8.411; you determine what you're getting from each roll as it happens. You can't combine results from two different rolls.

Thus, on your first roll, with the +1 DRM, you're at 6 = 1 (Merc), and that's your 7th unit in the stack.

With the next roll (adjusted to a 10), you could get 1 Merc and 1 (Merc), but that would put you at 9 units, which is a stacking violation (8.42). Presumably, you'll take the 1 Merc.

Your choices are Linz or the two cities in Hungary. You can reduce Pilsen or Budweis because an area must be friendly or neutral to remove pillage markers in it.

I'm sure we're eager to know our cards, so I'll go ahead and draw those while we wait to know which Pillage level you will remove.

95 6/12/2020 11:31:00 PM 1622-1623 Protestant Message Per your email to me, Bucquoy and his army march back through Pressburg to Wien, where they celebrate the conclusion of a successful and (for them) largely bloodless campaign.

If I'm correct, the Imperial army at Wien now totals: 4 Vets, 1 (Merc), 1 Mil, and 1 (Mil).

92 6/6/2020 10:20:00 PM 1622-1623 Protestant Message Chris, you needn't stop with what you've done there.

You have 16 CFs versus 2 CFs with what remains of the Hungarian revolt in Kasseg. That's 8-1 odds. All that is required for Overrun combat under Rule 12.6 is 4-1 odds plus one extra available MP, which you certainly have. Thus, your move should go like this:

MP 1: Move Bucquoy + 4 Imp Vets from Pressburg to Kasseg.

MP 2: Overrun combat. the remaining Hungarian Mil is eliminated, and Bethlen Gabor is removed from the game. Hungary is flipped to Imperial control; +2 VPs (VPs from 16 > 18, I believe).

And then at that point, you can decide whether you wish to allow Bucquoy and his men to rest on their laurels, or to send them somewhere else with their remaining 4 MPs.

Imperials: Inflict 10 LFs
Hungarians: Inflict 2 LFs, which isn't enough to even nick an Imperial unit.

10 LFs is enough to eliminate two full Hungarian Mil units and the (Mil) unit. The surviving Mil unit can retreat to Kasseg, definitely shell-shocked by the memory of Bucquoy's forces sweeping the field and driving all in front of them.

Protestant Impulse 3.

I'll use this to activate Christian of Brunswick, who will march with his 3 Mils as follows:

MP 1: Halberstadt

MP 2-3: Lutzen; convert it; place P1 marker

MP 4: Arrive Leipzig.

Christian will lead siege assault.

77 5/15/2020 11:14:00 PM 1622-1623 Protestant Message Thurn gets replaced by an anonymous 3-0-2; Papenheim gets replaced by Werth, a 1-2-4, which if anything, is an improvement.

They say that bad die rolling tends to even out over the course of a game. I think I would like to see that start to happen right about now.

76 5/15/2020 11:11:00 PM 1622-1623 Protestant Message Thurn and Pappenheim both die.
