20 hits to San Jacinto

Japanese PBM

(BB Hiei) ENM to Truk... officially tentative based on Allied PBM, but very unlikely to change.
144 5/11/2020 10:42:00 AM May-Aug 1943 Allies Message Check my math, but I see it this way.

We achieved 82 hits

Flipping Yamato, Kongo, 28th AF, Shokaku, Zuiho = 62 hits

With all JP units reduced, we have 20 hits remaining and we will sink both the Shokaku and Zuiho for 20 hits.

Let me know if I did not make any embarrassing math errors.

We assume that you will sink our three strong CVs, but you may decide otherwise. The remaining JP air/naval strength is 30 and I am pretty sure that any combination even with the critical hit is an Allied Air/Naval win and Wewak falls.

Please confirm as this is obviously the big moment in the game.
143 5/11/2020 10:19:00 AM May-Aug 1943 Japanese Message YIKES! You're snake bit again! But it does appear, at first blush like you will win the battle.

I want to consult with my staff about whether to go for total strength or go for reducing the number of ZoI you can project. (I don't think it's enough to matter to us, but they need to comment.)

Y'all can assign your own hits; we won't presume.

Second die is the Japanese interception: 72 factors with no DRM
141 5/11/2020 10:02:00 AM May-Aug 1943 Japanese Message HQ Combined Fleet reacts with 2+3 Naval activations:

a) CV Shokaku from Buin to 3919

b) BB Yamato from Buin to Wewak

c) CVL Zuiho from Truk to 3919

d) BB Kongo from Truk to Wewak

e) 28th AirFlot at Kavieng

During our discussions, the question popped up about whether the CVL/CV hit transfer takes place before or after A/N Battle Winner Determination. We decided that it must take place before the winner is determined, as it represents the CV not being hit by that strike at all. If we're incorrect in that decision, we will modify our orders slightly.

(Substituting the other AirFlot for CVL Zuiho, that increases our hits earned by 2, but should result in the same number of units flipped)

Proceeding to battle resolution...
