445 5/8/2020 12:46:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Now, seen retrospectively, I fear I was too conservative in turn 4. Anyhow, a very insightful game to learn from.

Then I will create a new game ... random sides :D

444 5/8/2020 12:23:00 PM Summer 1863 Union Message Thank you for this game, José. I inform the GM.

As said, you played very well the first part of the game. you saved your SP from attrition. I rarely see like that ;)

I let you create a new game just for fun. you can choose your side.
443 5/8/2020 12:19:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message And, again, it would be my pleasure to play again with you "just for fun".
442 5/8/2020 12:17:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Yes, it is right for me.

Now, I definitely surrender.

Congratulations Stéphane, and as I said in a previous entry, good luck for the rest of your tournament.

419 5/7/2020 1:02:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Lastly, if you wanted to play this game "just for fun", please let me know. I have enjoyed a lot playing with you.

418 5/7/2020 1:01:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message I would like to know what could have happen if I had not made that "order" mistake between retreat-interceptaion with the AoW at Hannover.

(As I told you, my games rarely go beyong turn 6, and I wanted to know whether the CSA in that situation can hold on the USA's attack.)

417 5/7/2020 12:58:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message I fear I have to surrender.

I have EMANCIPATION in hand, so although I won this battle at Richmond I would loose it with your next action.

Well played, congratulations for the victory, and good luck for the rest of your tournament.

405 5/7/2020 12:23:00 PM Summer 1863 Union Message José,
My mistake. I check the rules and you can't avoid battle :
7.24 RETREAT BEFORE BATTLE PROCEDURE: The defender may move his entire force into any adjacent friendly- controlled or neutral space as long as it is not the one from which the enemy force is moving and is free of enemy SPs

Lynchburg is not a friendly controlled space. so you can intercept with Jackson or fight.

In regard to Twilight Struggle I have many play in person, and through Vassal. (Surely more than 200 games.) I prefer to find a good game and play it, one time and another. (I have also great expectations on Empire of the Sun, and Washington's War.)

378 5/6/2020 12:45:00 PM Summer 1863 Union Message I play Twilight Struggle but I'm not good. you play on tablets ?
I play also Wilderness wars, PoG (I'm not good), Washington wars, Hannibal.
My main one : FtP :)

Other games I play but not CDG :
Battle of American Revolution
Fallen Eagle : Quatre bras
Combat commander when I can find a player (difficult to play in Pbem)

I have too many games I'd like to play but not enough time to play (and read/learn the rules)... :(
377 5/6/2020 12:44:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message (Anyhow, my favorite CDG is FtP, ... and that --at some distance-- WW and C&R)
376 5/6/2020 12:33:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message I played A LOT Twilight Struggle, even though it cannot be described as a wargame.

Other CDG wargames I have played are PoG, BtB, Wilderness War, and Crusade and Revolution.

366 5/6/2020 12:01:00 PM Summer 1863 Union Message Honestly, since the beginning, I think I will win (without disrespect) even if you played very well the first part of the game.
But normally, if I have standard cards, standard dice, I win when I play Union. The only thing I thought was the game will be long and we'll finish it during the last turns.
I hope you won't make me lie. :D
365 5/6/2020 11:58:00 AM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Yes, I won't commit it again.
