364 7/14/2020 11:03:00 AM Fall 1862 Union Message It was a good game, fun to play. Thanks.

I should play Roderick Lee in play-off. I never played with him yet. I looked at tournament records, he have definitively more victories than defeats. Well, Iíll do my best!

Thanks again and Iím sure we will play again next tournament ;-)
363 7/13/2020 5:48:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Message Weird, I wondered where he went but figured he must have been killed in action.

In anycase, with time up and your position clearly better I think it is time for me to concede.

Congrats on a game well played! Lots of back and forth that made for some great moments. Good luck in the playoffs!

If played by the Confederate, he draws a card from the Union hand which is discarded, and the Union player follows the instructions of this card as his next card play.

301 7/5/2020 1:33:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Yes, this game is full of rules surprises. As many times as I have played, I find myself constantly looking up rules (or being reminded of them).

My friend had this situation come up at WBC one year and like you was surprised to find out that it didn't go how the rules seem to read.

I was surprised by your dedication to taking down the West but now that makes sense. Let me know either way.
300 7/5/2020 12:56:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message Well, an overrun happens when the ratio force is 10 to 1 or higher. A battle against a "0sp" force has a mathematical ratio much more higer than 10-1. So for me an ungarrisoned fort is always overrun. And there was this phrase in the rule "[...] in all cases regardless of the size of the overrunning force is considered a medium battle for this situation." The word "regardless" seemed in line with my understanding.
But it appears I was wrong, and I planed all my moves to trigger the Emancipation, let east front undefended voluntarily.

I'm a little bit disappointed and need to think about my move, or if it worth continue. One more rule learned the very hard way.
299 7/5/2020 11:09:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Did you see the email I sent to James? He agrees that that rule is specific to Overruns (10-1 force) and not for other battles.
298 7/5/2020 5:43:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message It is detailed in rule 5.72, about Overrun.
297 7/4/2020 7:06:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message I believe it needs to be a medium battle or larger to trigger Emancipation. I'm looking for a ruling

296 7/4/2020 5:22:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #81: 3 / Emancipation Proclamation - Reshuffle/Remove
