678 5/27/2020 3:55:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message That was an exciting and tense game, well played on your part. I had a strong finishing hand when it matters most with the two campaigns and had good luck in combat to squeak out a win.
Thank you.

My remaining cards are a 2 OPS and a 3 OPS

677 5/27/2020 3:22:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Actually, I'll go ahead and concede. I don't have a campaign card, so even if I defeat Hannibal, you just flip with Mago on your next turn to make it 9-9. I could probably beat Mago after that with my final card play, but then nothing left to flip it back. So, best case for me is 9-9, which I see goes to Carthage.

Good game, Michael! I learned a lot from playing you! Best of luck in the next round
676 5/27/2020 3:07:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Play Strategy card as Operations #10: 2 / Macedonian Reinforcements

Okay, just wanted to check. As I understand if, if I fail to intercept at Sassari, I can attempt again when you move to Oristano, b/c both are adjacent to Paulus' location. I'll just roll once for now and await your confirmation that I can roll again if this fails.
672 5/27/2020 2:48:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message can you go 3/3 on one third chance interceptions?
671 5/27/2020 2:41:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message I do not change my play I was aware oy your troops as you so kindly listed your unit locations.
670 5/27/2020 2:21:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message PS. It might also be worth noting that I also have a CU in Carales
669 5/27/2020 2:20:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message I have Paulus + 5CUs in Nuoro, which could attempt to intercept Mago when he lands in Sassari. Were you aware of this? Do you wish to change your play?

If not, I will attempt the interception.

663 5/27/2020 1:10:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message I see my control of Aleria and Sassari?
662 5/27/2020 12:46:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Well that couldn't have gone much better for you!

No losses for Hannibal. I lose 4 in retreat, down to 8CUs in Boii. Everyone retreats to Verona, where there are 2 CUs, so end with two generals and 10CUs there.

I will remove PCs in Numausas (Massilia) and Beneventum to satisfy losses.

Back to you for your second activation.

651 5/27/2020 10:28:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message Okay, gotcha. Yes, I'm sorry that slipped by us both. Perhaps it won't end up affecting the outcome. But the game is very close!
650 5/27/2020 10:27:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message We proceed from here. Just pointing it out for awareness, I should have marked him as procounsel.
649 5/27/2020 10:21:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message Ah, I see, you were talking about the *first* interception...yes, that was incorrect. Longus would have been the commanding general. (however, he was reduced to 4CUs as a result of combat, so that wasn't voluntary on my part). Sorry we didn't catch that in time! We've made several cards plays since then, so not sure how/if we can back it up. What do you recommend? How do you wish to proceed?

(this is why I'm still not comfortable playing as Rome...all the extra rules surrounding consuls are a bit more overhead for new players)
648 5/27/2020 9:50:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message 620 Flaminius +10 CU joins Longus+4 CU in Baii
622 Flaminious and 10 CU intercepts ,

2 problems Longus should have made the attempt as he is the Counsel and you can not leave only 4 CU with a Counsel.
647 5/27/2020 9:46:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message proceed with combat
646 5/27/2020 9:45:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message Nothing to do about it now but the first time you intercepted me I believe you were stacked?
645 5/27/2020 7:22:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message The two generals were in different locations when I Intercepted (Flaminius intercepted into the space where Longus was). Feel free to double check me on that and the rules, but I think it was done correctly. I'll await your confirmation before continuing the battle.
644 5/26/2020 11:19:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message It appears we made an error you intercepted me with the Proconsul who wasn't in charge of the interception?

641 5/26/2020 8:53:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message It feels like the entire games hangs on this battle...!!
640 5/26/2020 8:51:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message I think the weaker leader, Longus, has to be in command b/c Consuls outrank Proconsuls according to 9.3. By my reading, it's only when an army contains both Consuls that you make a change of command roll.

I show BCs at 15R-10C. If you agree, deal and begin.

637 5/26/2020 8:31:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Yes, I was very lucky on those back-to-back interceptions with a mediocre general.

Here are my other CUs just to go ahead and cover this:

Rome: 3CUs

Nuoro: Paulus + 3CUs
Carales: 1CU

Lilybaeum: 1CU
Agrigentum: 1CU

Croton: Africanus +10CUs
636 5/26/2020 8:28:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message My CUs in Italy are as follows:

Boii: Longus & Flaminius + 12CUs
Verona: 2CUs

Do you wish to know CUs other parts of the map?

635 5/26/2020 8:26:00 PM 203-201 BC Carthage Message what is with these dice? back off
634 5/26/2020 8:26:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message So with that change BCs would be 15R-10C. Do you battle or withdraw?
633 5/26/2020 8:25:00 PM 203-201 BC Rome Message Actually, I'll revise that to only 8 CUs intercpeting, leaving 2 CUs behind.
