357 7/3/2020 6:43:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message 1) Wheeler moves to 1437, and then to 1839 (I don't think Sigel can intercept because ZOIs don't extend across unbridged navigable river (9.1))
2) Bragg moves to Pulaski and entrenches (Union control is removed, right?)
3) Morgan joins Bragg in his ditch
4) Jackson takes 6 SP and moves to Salem and then into Hooker's space (3MP to get there)

I will use an East card, so you can roll any battle...

assuming I win, and if you retreat, I want to use my remaining 2 MP and pursue you and have a battle...

so, you should be to resolve that... roll any retreat you want to do... you can't retreat over mountains so Jackson should end up in either 2039 or 1941... in either space he should be close enough to Wheeler to remove that foraging marker... (and if Jackson somehow loses a battle, you can roll the foraging for Wheeler)

if you're eliminated in a battle, Jackson will move to 2040 and stop (but if you do retreat to 1941 Jackson will follow you there and try to have a battle)

and finally, you can roll the next initiative..
356 7/3/2020 6:10:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message do you still want to use a card to entrench Hooker?
355 7/3/2020 6:04:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message Hooker must be using the English navy...
354 7/3/2020 6:04:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message actually, a 6 on the 1 is 1 loss for Hooker
353 7/3/2020 6:03:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message a 3 on the 3 and a 6 on the 1 is a star apiece... I think Hooker loses and goes back to 2140 and is demoralized...

345 7/3/2020 12:54:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message 1) Morgan moves to 2626, he's back in supply there from Knoxville
2) Wheeler moves to 1535, and then moves to Wheeling (Union control marker remains) he'll have an attrition roll
344 7/3/2020 12:51:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message since it's my cav up there, I keep thinking it costs MP to remove control markers, but that only applies to cav generals...
343 7/3/2020 12:41:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message just an fyi... my control marker is still in Zanesville... it will be removed if you're still in the space at the end of the turn (or if you spend the MP to remove it), or it may be removed via 17.2.5

331 7/3/2020 11:18:00 AM Turn 8 CSA Message btw, and I guess we didn't clarify this at the start... Drake's ability is that he gets to pick his pirate reward... but, in a bgg thread (that Byron is involved in) Ed said it should be changed so that Drake's ability does not apply on the Europe map... it's too easy for Drake to just empty France of cards...

327 7/2/2020 4:44:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message with your SP in Pittsburgh, I can't trace any LOC down to the south... so, I think my understanding then is the cav in Zanesville still has access to an open hex and doesn't need to roll for surrender...

but, if you had SPs in, say, 1233, 1535 and 1236, I wouldn't have access to any open hex that wasn't next to an enemy SP... you'd be next to every hex that I am adjacent to...

so, if it stayed like I'd have to roll for surrender with that cav unit (or move or fight my way to where I could access to an open hex)
326 7/2/2020 4:41:00 PM Turn 8 CSA Message CS BPs = 88 + 6 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 9 (for 3 Missouri objectives) = 133 = 13 BPs

USA
CS
303 7/2/2020 10:56:00 AM Turn 7 CSA Message there is some advantage to going second, in that I can react to whatever heinous crimes you commit in your phase...

1) Van Dorn and 2 SP rail move from Memphis to Decatur
2) Wheeler moves to Zanesville, by going through 1532-1533-1433 (open ground again, so passes attrition)
302 7/2/2020 10:32:00 AM Turn 7 CSA Message scary sight: when there's nothing between you and the Gulf Coast... :)
301 7/2/2020 10:09:00 AM Turn 7 CSA Message actually the last loss wouldn't have happened, so I Bragg has 2 SP, and Grant has 3?
300 7/2/2020 10:08:00 AM Turn 7 CSA Message after that first battle, as the defender, I should've retreated 2 hexes to 3122 (see entry 289)... then, with that evade roll I would've gone to Decatur (see entry 291), and you wouldn't have enough MP to get to me... so, I think Bragg and 1 SP should be in Decator with a DM... and Grant and his 2 SP are in 3122...

(you are 4 MP from Buell, so Grant is still in supply... note that your LOC can't go through Pulaski, as I still control it, in the absence of a US control marker) since Tennessee is friendly to me...

for the same reason, any LOC can't go through 3022, and it couldn't go through Columbia if Buell weren't sitting there...

does all that seem right to you?
299 7/2/2020 3:43:00 AM Turn 7 Union Message 2nd AP rail move an SP from Grafton to Columbus.

I don't remember how much of this we remembered in previous games, but from 17.2.4, your objective hexes up north have intrinsic 0 SP garrisons... 281 7/1/2020 5:10:00 PM Turn 7 Union Message No reaction to Lee.
280 7/1/2020 4:57:00 PM Turn 7 CSA Message 1) Jackson entrenches
2) remove DM from Bragg
3) Wheeler moves to 1829, then to 1730 and ends in 1630 (open ground so now he's sure to pass attrition)
4) 1 SP stays in Fredericksburg, the rest of Lee's force moves direct to 1845 (spendingn 2 MP)... any reaction to that?
279 7/1/2020 4:49:00 PM Turn 7 Union Message 1831 then I think.
278 7/1/2020 4:47:00 PM Turn 7 CSA Message since I intercepted, the battle was in 2030, so with a two-hex retreat it would have to be one more...
277 7/1/2020 4:45:00 PM Turn 7 Union Message 2029 please.
276 7/1/2020 4:43:00 PM Turn 7 CSA Message if you know where you want to retreat to, I can include that in my file (aka the "what do I do now, we're in a spot of trouble file")
275 7/1/2020 4:29:00 PM Turn 7 CSA Message that should be the other way around, I was on the 0 column, you were a 1, so it ended up as diamond to diamond... tied, so you still retreat... and I think you are still demoralized because you were not in full supply coming into the hex (would need to be on or next to a railroad or navigable river 13.4)
274 7/1/2020 4:26:00 PM Turn 7 CSA Message wait, did I do that wrong...
273 7/1/2020 4:22:00 PM Turn 7 CSA Message I think the result is star to diamond, so Stanley retreats (from 2030) and is demoralized...

were both cards supposed be for adding +2 to the battle? you can only use one card per battle... (18.3.2)... which one do you want to keep?

(you can ether go back and redo the file to save the card, or next file you can right click on the pile and "draw specific cards" to get it back)
