Informed GM of the result.
I'll get back to you next week.

Good luck on the tourney!

199 7/13/2020 3:00:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message I'd love to play a rematch against you so if its ok I'll send you email next Monday to see if you have time for it. And thanks for hint, I see if Michael wishes to play.

I'll look up for that Consimworld forum also. I think I'm not first one to say it but I've explored it for a year now or so and still cant understand how that bloody thing works.

And about Riku Riekkinen, I haven't had pleasure to play FtP against him. He did give me a good whacking in 1989: Dawn of Freedom during the first times I played the game.

Oh, I can inform GM about the result.
198 7/13/2020 2:11:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message GM Michael Day is one of the top hardcore Ftp players, especially as USA and you can practice against as Csa.
Since he’s not in round 5, maybe he’s interested.
197 7/13/2020 2:07:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Ftp is still pretty popular, lots of people drop in and out of pbem tourneys and pick up games, for various reasons.
Consimworld Ftp folder is one of more active ones for people posting strategy questions and ideas (and sometimes game invites).
You can try ping one of those people who post regularly.
Btw- have you played Ftp against your fellow countryman Rikku before ? I hear he’s no longer playing Ftp.

I need to take 3-7 day break -if you haven’t found a another sparring partner by next weekend, we can play a practice one.
196 7/13/2020 1:56:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message Yeah, probably. Just dont feel that those forts in other than capital spaces achieve much. I mean, if CSA wants to win the fight, he will win it and the fort wont do anything. USA maybe scores 3 casualties instead of 2 but I just dont think it makes that much impact. Helps against corp-maneuvers of course.

Now that there is plenty for time for you until the next round starts, would you like to play another one for training? I've been trying to find FtP opponents from BGG but it seems its not one of the popular games anymore.
195 7/13/2020 1:46:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Forts in Manassas, Fred
Don’t weaken DC to n1 by going off to AA adventure
194 7/13/2020 1:44:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message Yup, I also usually feel more comfortable playing CSA.

Can I ask how would you have set up the Union defence this turn? Thinking the situation of course where you wont see FTR + MC as last 2 cards but assume that the last cards are "normal cards" only?
193 7/13/2020 1:39:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message I prefer to play Csa because of higher mobility and drm.
Csa vs USA is similar to WW2 German Panzers against Russian behemoth (but slow buildup til late 42 to steamroller capability when Tank armies and Mech Fronts start to appear)

Of course still have to know how to play USA (and Russians) when facing aggressive Csa (and German Panzers)
192 7/13/2020 1:26:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message I guess you were already typing your last moves so missed my message.

"Well thats that, I got your point! After DC drops you double my SW.
Good game! Bummer would have wished to see few more turns."

But anyway at the end of turn:
USA-SW 87-30-5 = 52-
CSA-SW: 100+10+5+2 = 117+

Tough game. Blundered the MO-part at least. Wasnt in front of the map and forgot that I controlled St. Louis so I thought It was already gone no matter what. Could have evened the situation by just placing 3 PC-markers immediately myself. Of course it wouldnt have changed the outcome as you could have just rolled in with AJ/Price. The other blunder was to send Rosie to Philly.

No that the dust is settled, may I ask which side do you prefer playing and why?

173 7/12/2020 7:17:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #3: 1 / Forward to Richmond
Union may activate any Union army within 4 spaces of Richmond, VA. The army must enter Richmond or move as close to Richmond as possible, but may convert spaces to maintain an LOC. All SPs associated with the army must be moved (no dropping off SPs), except 1 SP may be left if the Army began its movement from a fort (if last SP, move completed). If played by the Confederate, he draws a card from the Union hand which is discarded, and the Union player follows the instructions of this card as his next card play.

107 7/8/2020 3:38:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #75: 2 / Western Concentration Block
Confederate player can either remove or demote an army commander in any state except Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida for no political cost. OR Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5 Remove from deck if event is played.
