Result is AR (goes back and will need to take a step loss). |
38 | 8/27/2020 11:32:00 AM | Turn 1 | Syrian Army | Die roll request |
Request: 6-sided die x 1 3 Message from Syrian Army: As per Henry's email, he will play a card to provide a 2 shift in the Rebel's favor. So this roll is to resolve the first combat, using the -2 to -4 column. |
37 | 8/26/2020 5:37:00 PM | Turn 1 | Syrian Army | Message |
Playing Close air support for a 3-column shift (attack or defense), so the combat odds go from the +/-1 column to the -8 or less column. Log posted, Rebels to continue with any card play and die roll. |

Regarding Henry's msg 34: EVENT 2 – Combat Engineers – Place Entrenchment on Hamah & Idlib I am also playing IEDs as an event but have a question about its implementation - Does this mean that the Rebels only get the benefits during GT1? I,e against attacks during the Iraqi turn not during the Syrian attacks in GT2? - seems to me that the effect should last until Rebel turn 2 === I think the intent is that when a card last for a turn, it's until the beginning of your next turn rather than until the GT marker moves to the next turn. Otherwise the last player gets screwed on their card play for the bulk of the game (always going last). Boardgamegeek seems to have a lot of Q&A for this game, such as: What is the exact duration of a turn. https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2448541/what-exact-duration-turn To refine my response, I would say that on game turns that are based upon the fixed sequence of play, then it lasts until beginning of your next turn. If players were bidding for first play (optional rule; we're using this for the last turn only), then it is literally when the game turn counter moves, as this gives further incentive to commmit a higher ops level card for first move privilege. |

Use STRAT DEPOT for 2 moves 1 attack - no need to waste a card. Exchanged a unit in Aleppo for a unit in Hamah Attack on Tartus REB = 8 / SYR = 8 1:1 do the SYR wish to play a card? |

So that's another 1 loss each. I did my strategic move and drew a cards, so it's over to the rebels. Posting to dropbox momentarily. |

Request: 6-sided die x 1 2 Message from Syrian Army: Rebels holding tight; EX* was for two more step losses each. My log shows DR retreating as well but I corrected that error. Final attack will be from Latakia (14) vs Idlib (7) for the 5-7 table again. |
29 | 8/22/2020 5:57:00 PM | Turn 1 | Syrian Army | Die roll request |
Request: 6-sided die x 1 3 Message from Syrian Army: Roll was 1 so I took a loss. Will roll 4th of 5 attacks to roll again. New comparison is 10 vs 5, difference of 5 but same column. |
28 | 8/22/2020 5:53:00 PM | Turn 1 | Syrian Army | Die roll request |
Request: 6-sided die x 1 1 Message from Syrian Army: Roll was 2 for an EX. Expending 3rd of 5 attacks to roll again. New comparison is 12 vs 5, so same column. |

Request: 6-sided die x 1 2 Message from Syrian Army: Second combat is Quneitra (13) vs Daraa (6) for a difference of 7, no cards either side. Rolling on the 5-7 column. |
26 | 8/22/2020 7:18:00 AM | Turn 1 | Syrian Army | Message |
The result of that was a DR. There was a step loss and then the retreat. As it would create an overstacking situation, the Rebel forces are removed to their reinforcement box (better than outright elimination). For my third action point, the Quneitra stack will attack Daraa. Attack will be 13 - 6 is a difference of 7 for an attack on the 5-7 column. Pausing briefly here for any feedback and card play. I'll go ahead on Monday assuming Henry's option from last time not to play a card still applies in light of better defender odds. |

Request: 6-sided die x 1 5 Message from Syrian Army: Syrians vs Rebels in Quneitra: 13 - 4 is a difference of 9, no shifts on the 8-10 column. |

Thanks for finding that. It shouldn't change my move as I think I"d want to clear out that section to have a safe flank. |
23 | 8/19/2020 4:53:00 AM | Turn 1 | Syrian Rebels | Message |
See 14.4 – FSA and Rebel militia deployed in Syria are supplied from Turkey or Jordan. Units in Quneitra are in supply and not isolated. Do you wish to change your plan? |

I posted my first log. One more and first of 5 offensive markers. Rebels for any card play and then to resolve combat. I will be on vacation the week of Aug 31. Same stay-cation situation so I may still be doing turns. |
