Winning Player: Dan Sirbu (Carthage)
Turn Game Ended: Turn 9 (203-201 BC)
Method of Victory: Province Count
# of Provinces controlled (Winner) : 10
# of Provinces controlled (Defeated) : 8
Turn Number on which the following occur:
Syracuse Joins Carthage : T9
Syracuse sacked by Rome : N/A
Philip Joins Carthage : N/A

Death of Hannibal : N/A
Death of Africanus (and circumstances) : N/A
Truce (whether as event or ops) : T1 (ops), T2 (ops), T3 (ops), T4 (ops), T5 (event), T9 (ops)
Messenger Intercepted by Rome : T1, T5, T9
Messenger Intercepted by Carthage : N/A

Hannibal crosses the Alps while the Romans intercept a messenger and successfully invade Baetica. Hasdrubal wins a couple of key batles in Spain getting breaks in both when Longus instead of Marcellus takes command forcing the Romans to evacuate, and then later forces Africanus and Marcellus to retreat from Idubeda. The final turn sees Rome intercepting a Messenger after Syracuse flipped for Carthage -- which barely withstands with 2 siege points on it at the end.
438 8/27/2020 11:13:00 AM 203-201 BC Carthage Message Think we might have to rename this game Hasdrubal: Rome vs Carthage. I don't think the great man had a single battle, but Hasdrubal did well to catch Marcellus napping and Longus in command at least a couple of times at key moments. If those battles had gone the other way, think I'd been in trouble.

Also, turned out we had an exciting, anti-notional final turn with both Messenger & Syracuse! I was worried about the timing of Syracuse since you could have had Messenger (and did!) but the earlier it flipped the more time you had to siege it.
437 8/27/2020 11:07:00 AM 203-201 BC Rome Message Missed it!. Good win by 2 provinces. Well played, despite Messenger 3 times you held me.

Think my only real threat was the first Spanish attack which came close to working.

Suspect I may have been treated as a Newbie in the early games, hence my sudden rise. You gave no quarter.
