87 8/31/2020 6:45:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Japanese Message I'll set up 43.
86 8/31/2020 2:35:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message If you want to give the AP a try for 1943 I am good. Otherwise we could play the 1942 start.
85 8/30/2020 10:58:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message Well when you draw 0 3 cards and can't even launch an attack against Alaska its pretty tough. I could have made POW by taking a couple of spaces in NG and a couple of the islands so that is probably a correct assessment on your part. Also I should have shrunk back in India Burma and played for time versus spending resources up there. Still a losing cause but it would have delayed you. Let me sleep on it.
84 8/30/2020 10:44:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Japanese Message Hey Dave,
That KOR Army saved my ass! It was a risky move, but hey, it's just a game. You beat the hell out of my air force this turn, but you took a -4 hit on PW! I think you would have been better off concentrating on POW in SOPAC, and let me do all the attacking in India. Dacca is MUCH easier to take with counter attack, then to hold. If you want to quit this one, Im OK with either 1942, or i wouldn't mind trying to play AP in 1943? Your call.
83 8/30/2020 9:02:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message I probably played it wrong by bringing the ground units into BH A but it would not really matter. Not a chance in hell the allies can stop the Japanese without the 3AUS ground unit.
82 8/30/2020 8:54:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message You essentially beat me 4 steps to 2 with replacements taken into account and you are about halfway to taking India.
81 8/30/2020 8:52:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message BH B ground combat; results 33rd Army eliminated; NE against Japanese.

Post my losses for BH A ground combat.

This scenerio is shit. You can tell it was not playtested. The Japanese can pump unlimited ground forces into the Indian theater and the allies don't have a chance since 3 AUS is in the south pacific.

I'll humor with you but its really over unless the Allies get extremely lucky. I though it was worth a try to give something new a go. This ain't it.

With the Allies starting out in ISR they don't have a shot in hell of even taking back Alaska unless they want to waste 2 cards to do so. Then when Tojo shows up. LOL

1 IND and 15 British head to Akyab for BH A. Warspite and 14AF LRB also join for BH A A/N.

72 8/29/2020 10:31:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message I am getting the feeling that this scenerio is also heavily dictated by cards. Much more so than the normal campaign. The allies starting position is horrible and the placement of 3AUS in NG is a major tactical mistake like I mentioned before. It has no purpose or good use their.

Message from Allies:
Very possibly the worst card in the entire allied deck when there is a japanese unit in Alaska and the allies are under ISR. I have to use it as an event.

CPAC for 7

What the hell are two allied air units doing in Dutch Harbor. There is a worthless place for them and I have to leave on of the there to use this card. Shit.

3 air units to the turn track and moving a couple of others around as well as an useless air attack in Alaska.

This set up for the allies is fucked up.
40 8/24/2020 12:23:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message It actually does not make much sense to put S Pac up in India. A US ground unit can't be activated in a coordinated attack, only US army air units, via a CW HQ. If you have a couple of military events you are going to be able to at least get to Dacca this turn and thus a US army ground unit would be worthless going forward. To bet that you can't at least get Dacca this turn is a bad bet. You may not get all of N. India but that can wait until turn 6. The only other option is to move ANZAC but that is worthless because it then takes all the CW units out of the game in the S Pacific.

Bottom line is that 3AUS has to be placed in the India theater in all circumstances. There is plenty of US army ground available in the next 2 to 3 turns for the S pacific so having 3AUS there is just a waste of resources. 4AUS could be put either place on turn 8 or 9 depending on how the fight for India is going but its not likely action in the S Pacific. How often have the Aussies been the lead element in any attack in NG or the Pacific. The 4AUS ground unit is pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things either way. The NZ ground unit because of their surprise attack capability has value but the Aussies .....

I'll do my best.
39 8/24/2020 11:49:00 AM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message We are going to have to see but the historical set up places the 3AUS army down in the south pacific. This never happens in the campaign game as its critical to have it in India. The allies are going to have a tough time putting enough ground steps in India to even have a chance to defend it. I don't think the design ever thought that the Japanese would go all in for India all the time like is traditional now.
