About the scripting - nothing approaching POG levels with 3 decks, may only be a discard 3-4 times.

We could have a 1D6 as a "Strategic Intensity" roll to make a limit. Brits as said halved and rounded up. French 1 less.

That way, cant plan ahead too much if the Discard pile is target rich.

Anyway, my hand in Early 59 meant the French had an "miraculous year".

264 9/8/2020 11:14:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #21: 3 / Louisbourg Squad.
Play if you control Louisbourg. REMOVE? No Amphibious Landings this year. On a roll of 1-3, REMOVE, no French naval moves ever, and British may play Quiberon. (Place markers.)

Message from Britain:
my last card for the record

you can set up a new game and we can try the BR3/FR2 draw card option although this will make for a more scripted game
263 9/8/2020 3:02:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Do you have a 2/3 Ops to take OF for the record!?

***New Suggestion***

Expanding on the modest tourney rule.

Brits take 0-3 cards from Discard as their strategic choice.

French take 0-2 - one less than British choice.

Choices: Any 1 or 2 ops card at all - just one obvious exception FOUL WEATHER of course. (Bigot, Schooner, Amphib card etc all ok)

3 OPS: Only CAMPAIGN or (*Friendly) REINFORCEMENT.

Brits choose first then French are limited to one less.

Cards are either randomly discarded or 1-2 OPs may be exchanged with a Card 1 Ops greater.

EXAMPLE A:
BRITS
Rangers

FRENCH
NONE

EXAMPLE B:
BRITS
1. BIG HIGHLANDERS (random discard)
2. RANGERS (Discard of Provincial Regiments)
3. CAMPAIGN (random discard)

FRENCH
1. NORTHERN INDIAN (random discard)
2. AMBUSH (Discard of Raise Regiments)

EXAMPLE C:
BRITS
1&2. RAISE REGIMENTS X 2 (Random Discard)

FRENCH
1.LAKE SCHOONER (Discard Western Indians - say no fort OF)

Nothing stopping Brits taking three campaign cards!

etc.

Adds more strategic choice, representing build-up, deck used a little faster.

Could even do a die roll. Brits can choose 1D6/2 rounded up. French choose 1D6/2 rounded down.

Like the Mandatory Offensive roll in POG, representing Strategic choices *above* the player.

As it stands no way can this game - as tense as it is - represent the three pronged attack on Montreal, the key strategy to the whole war.

Anyway, I'm read for best out of 3/5/7/9 !
262 9/7/2020 10:52:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message I was assuming you had surrender...

Amherst took quite a risk moving up..

I can see you were reluctant to use the Dual Front/Amphib Option, understandably as it's a significant change.

Very enjoyable, but more convinced that the CDG mechanic doesnt allow enough free-flowing operations - such as the three-pronged attack on Montreal.

Ever had a French counterattack retake TICONDEROHGA & CP!?

***New Suggestion***

Brits can take up to two from the Discard and the Fremch one. This is just an expansion of the Tourney rule and allows more strategic choice.

Choices: Any 1 or 2 ops card at all - one exception FW of course. (Bigot, Schooner, Amphib card etc all ok)

Any CAMPAIGN or REINFORCEMENT (own or opponents).

No other 3 OPS available.
Order:
Brits may choose one.
French may choose one
Brits may choose one.
