77 10/28/2020 8:18:00 PM 1755 Late Season France Message Oswego assault is a 4-1 FR win
BR provincial is elim
FR will flip the 1-4
FR capture the fort, but the fort is replaced with an under construction marker
Siege marker removed, and FR get +2 VPs
VPs now at France +3
(btw, FR does *not* get 1 VP for defeating drilled units - that only applies when winning a battle, not an assault)
OK, hopefully I did that all OK, and if so, then back over to you

Assault of Oswego
dr1= FR 9-12 with +1drm
dr2 = BR 2

74 10/28/2020 8:11:00 PM 1755 Late Season France Message Siege of Oswego succeeds, with a +2 (although only needed to get to 1 for a fort).
I can proceed immediately to an assault which I'll do.
I'll get a +1 drm for Drucours, and a 1L column shift for an assault.
Technically, you get the chance to play a COEHORNS card (for a +2 drm), but I have a hard time believing you'll do that after not playing to for the siege (as far as I'm concerned, you're welcome to play it after seeing the die rolls if you want)
FR has 14 combat factors, shifted 1L to the 9-12 column with+1 drm
BR has 2 combat factors
die roll coming...

71 10/28/2020 12:21:00 AM 1755 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #44: 2 / Raise Regiments
May not be played if Assemblies Reluctant. Within Assemblies track limits, place 4 Northern or 2 Southern Provincial units at any fortifications in their Department, or restore all Provincials of one Department to full.

Message from France:
Drucour et al. will siege Oswego. Currently I get a +1 drm on the Siege table for Drucour. No Coehorns event for me - did you want to play the Coehorns event?
70 10/28/2020 12:11:00 AM 1755 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #38: 2 / Provincial Regiments
For each Raided marker within the Northern and Southern Departments, the French player eliminates one unbesieged Provincial unit belonging to that Department.

Message from Britain:

69 10/27/2020 1:03:00 PM 1755 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #30: 1 / Cherokees
May not be played after Cherokee Uprising. Place all Cherokee (GREEN) Indian units not on the map at a British fortification in the Southern Department and restore any reduced Cherokee to full strength. French may play Cherokee Uprising (place marker).

Message from France:
move Montcalm from Quebec > Crown Point
68 10/27/2020 1:01:00 PM 1755 Late Season France Message >>> I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here

* I know the feeling.
This game reminds of the Shifting Sands (CDG N Africa game). Seems kinda interesting and exciting, but then you realize that the # of viable strategies seem quite limited, driven in large part by the geography and topology of the maps connections.
67 10/27/2020 11:33:00 AM 1755 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #23: 2 / Northern Indian
Play if you control Montreal. Place BLUE or--if you have a fort at Niagara-- BLUE/ORANGE Indian units totalling half a die roll (rounded up), or a full roll if French VP >4. Place units at their settlements. For every 1 you could place, you may instead restore 2 to full.

Message from Britain:

Villiers, 1-4, CdB, Abenaki move Cataraqui > Oswego > Oneida Carry West, grab stockade, +1 FR VP > continue > Oswego, drop off 1-4 & Abenaki
Villiers & CdB continue > Niagara
* I'll then destroy the FR stockade in Oneida Carry West *
hopefully I did that all OK
VPs now at FR +1

* I'll then assume you'll play your BR reinforcement card, as played....

55 10/25/2020 1:40:00 PM 1755 Early Season France Message sorry, should've clarified that my last move was Drucour ONLY move Louisbourg > Quebec, 3x 3-4 remain in Louisbourg

>>> I'll pass

So you're holding your last card, right? i.e. you won't be playing it this turn.
Just a reminder that your held card will count against your 8-card hand limit for next turn, and that next turn you MUST play all 8 cards (i.e. you won't be able to hold over a card next turn)
54 10/25/2020 12:24:00 PM 1755 Early Season Britain Message I'll pass
53 10/25/2020 11:54:00 AM 1755 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #15: 1 / Lake Schooner

Leave Abenaki in Cataraqui - he does nothing
Shawnee in Little Seneca River > OCW for raid, NE, then Shawnee goes home > Logstown

32 10/24/2020 2:57:00 PM 1755 Early Season France Message btw, I think we've been slightly misplaying stockades. A stockade is captured intact if enemy drilled troops occupy an unoccupied stockade, but a stockade is destroyed if enemy drilled troops win a battle in a stockade space (I think we'd been playing that the enemy would capture the stockade in the latter case)

6 10/22/2020 5:27:00 PM 1755 Early Season France Message 1. couldn't find much of anything about my event play (British Ministerial Crisis) on boardgamegeek
2. FYI, in the last game in your last card play, you played an event that flipped a bunch of drilled units in Kahnawake back to full strength - I just realized that you can't do this for out of supply units (5.523, 12.3)

5 10/22/2020 2:33:00 PM 1755 Early Season France Message >>> I assume I still have to discard this even though it is not after 1755. I'll check the rules later

* I can't see exactly which strategy card you've discarded, but I'm guessing it's something like this card:

#63 Highlanders: Play after 1758 or William Pitt. Place one 4-4 Highland unit and a leader, if available, at any ports. 1755 scenarios REMOVE

assuming that it is a card like this, my take is that yes, you do still have to discard it, even though it's not after 1755. My event card simply says "British player must discard one British Regulars, Highlanders, Light Infantry, Troop Transports, or Victories in Germany card if he has any in his hand" - doesn't seem to me like any qualifiers about whether you can play the card as an event or not should apply.

But, I'm guessing the Q&A has come up before on boardgamegeek!
