130 11/9/2020 12:04:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message It seems odd for the CSA to concede with a SW lead, but the strategic situation is simply untenable for the CSA. The Confederacy is dead -- long live the Confederacy!

All SPs associated with the army must be moved (no dropping off SPs), except 1 SP may be left if the Army began its movement from a fort (if last SP, move completed). If played by the Confederate, he draws a card from the Union hand which is discarded, and the Union player follows the instructions of this card as his next card play.

Message from Confederate:
Well, if this game were a tournament game, it would have been called in USA's favor already. The US is supposed to be lethargic and indecisive this early in the war. Instead, CSA had toact with extreme caution in the first two turns due to having the EP card, and then in the Fall of 1861 the USA has two campaign cards and the EP card! At this point, it is clear that the US does not need Grant to come along, and he will be relegated to a drifter in his later years, riding the rails with the hobos. President Lincoln has gone from just wanting to keep the United States together at any cost to emancipating the slaves in just 8 months.

We can keep playing it out, but it will take two or three turns of everything going right for CSA to just un-do what USA has been able to do already. The loss of the fort in Columbus this early is a killer as well since it opens up the center of the board.

Oh well. We'll keep playing it out and se how it goes.

USA wins 3* to 1. Beau's corps of 2 is destroyed; he will die on a 1 roll. AoP n7-0 does not have to roll for GO loss due to fr. AoP extends its last movement to convert Manassas.

45 10/31/2020 11:52:00 AM Fall 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Event #6: 1 / Ambush
Target any enemy cavalry general not located with an army and make a casualty die roll. On a die roll of 1-3 the cavalry general is killed, on a die roll of 4-6 there is no effect.

Message from Union:
Playing this upfront and hopefully have an effect as Stuart is not in an Army.

1-3 Stuart dies; 4-6 no effect.

Rolling next.

34 10/31/2020 11:06:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #81: 3 / Emancipation Proclamation - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player must play this card as an EC on the Strategy Round immediately following a Union large or medium battle victory. Confederate loses 10 SW and 3 SPs (his choice). Union loses 5 SW. Flip GT marker to its Emancipation Proclamation side. Card must be the last one played by a player at which time it can be played as an OC card. If the play of this card as an OC results in a battle victory, there is no Emancipation Proclamation Remove from deck if event is played. If this card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at the end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Confederate:
Got this card two turns in a row ... talk about a buzz killer! Will set deck to re-shuffle, hopefully placing this card on the very bottom of the deck!
