Thanks, I did think it was sort of climatic, wiping out Scipio...but I know what you mean, not real satisfying perhaps. My last game came down to the last few cards. In my last game I was Rome as well and had 2 campaign cards to 8 I think for Carthage, so this game and this turn especially I was cognizant of the fact that I had two campaigns and needed to flip two provinces to win the game. Mago was vulnerable, but Hasdrubal not so much and he's just get stonger. I thought about sending Scipio into Spain, N Africa, or even into the path of Hannibal as he headed back to fight, but I hoped for a win against Hasdrubal. I also knew next run Mago would be back and likely movning into areas I couldn't cover and playing catch up while behind in the prov count was not a great prospect. Anyhow, took my shot and I just didn't win enough battles this game, you kept the pressure one quite well, great work! Good luck in you next game. |

Yes I will report match. Anti-climatic ending =( I was marching Hannibal back to Italy as my current hand had juicy incentives to do so despite the vast distance. And my alternative was just sitting around waiting for Rome to do something. Thanks for the game and good luck next round. |

No hurries, I will ponder the map a bit before I decide to use any my campaign cards to lead off with. Successors is great fun, played it before the COVID hit with a local group in person. I finally convinced then vassal is good and now we've been using it and discord to play two games of Here I Stand with 6 players, and we have a 4 player Pericles game going and a Virgin Queen game starting next wednesday. We play every Wednesday night and just do 1 turn in about 90 minutes. I was in the Air Force and in some areas with not many local gamers, and deployed to Iraq, Afghansitan, Kuwait, Qatar, etc and was able to skype and vassal several live games even over "there". Anyhow Successors is great fun and really works when it's "live" |
