Dear Geoff and Greg I will be doing a little FTF gaming over the next 48 hours so I may be slower than normal with my movements. Also I will be teaching my buddy how to play For The People. I wouldn’t have felt comfortable doing that if it hadn’t been for the two of you taking the time to teach me the rules over the last several months. I really appreciate your time and patience. |

Bit of a problem I think In post #186 I dropped off Freemont and 1sp in Springfield MO. Sorry I could have made it more clear “Activate Haleck in cairo (PU 2) 1-2 St. Louis PU 1 and Freemont (n3) 3-4 Springfield MO D 1 and Freemont (n2) 5-8 New Madrid MO” So Halleck is in Charge in New Madrid and you will have to battle in Springfield I’ll let you rethink your move. I thought I had done well. Could have pulled this off if you had anything but a minor and major campaign combo. |

OK. Ready now. Your move to New Madrid disrupted my original plans. Note that Fremont is now the New Madrid Corps CDR, as his Political Rating (8) is higher than Halleck's (6). So, here we go. 2nd Move: Activate Van Dorn, Little Rock, p/u2 1. Clarksville 2. Fayetteville 3. Springfield 4. Rolla 5. Ironton, d1 6. Rolla, Convert to Van Dorn Cav Bgde, n1 3rd Move: Activate Price, Columbus, KY, p/u 2 1. Humboldt 2. Memphis 3. Madison 4. Elizabeth 5. Gaineville 6. Greenville, d1 7. Ironton 8. Rolla, n2 Note: Since Fremont is CDR in New Madrid, there is no intercept capability for Price’s movement. The USA Corps in New Madrid is OOS because of Fort Columbus, KY and CSA forces occupying Greenville and Iront. Thus, the PC counter will remain CSA. |

Hey Tod: Last night, I was composing a response to your question about AOP strength when my daughter called. Had a chance to finish the note this morning. Bottom line is that AOP is currently n9 in strength. If you look at Journal Entries 139, 140, and 144, you’ll see that AOP attacked Manassas with 14SPs, leaving 1SP behind in Frederick. After losing the Battle of Manassas with 6SP casualties, AOP, n8 in strength, returned to Frederick and absorbed the 1SP, there, settling at a strength of n9. |

The +2 DRM is correct, and I rolled a 6 + 2 = 8, which is a 4* Casualty outcome. Here's the case: If the Union commanding general has a battle rating less than the Confederate commanding general’s battle rating (after the effects of 7.52 Cavalry Intelligence have been taken into account for both sides), then the Union Army’s DRM is equal to the sum of the Union commanding general’s battle rating plus one subordinate general battle rating. How this works. McDowell is a 1/1 CDR, but JJ is a 1/2. CSA is on defense and JJ's Defense rating of 2 exceeds McDowell's offense rating of 1. Because you had Stoneman, McDowell is not reduced and the USA gets one other general, Stonemnn, who is also a 1/1 commander. Hence the +2 DRM. |

Geoff has been very patient and understanding with little oversights. We're in Summer '64 now and it's do or die for me. Wish Acts would deal me a decent card or two. In terms of OPS value, he's had four above average hands in a row, including the second best possible. Meanwhile, I'm consistently average or less than average. Oh well, maybe the cards will roll my way for the last two turns (If I get to Spring '65 at all!). |

No worries... two games are plenty enough for me can't imagine 3 or 4. Almost didn't sign up for that fact. Geoff is good .. no doubt but more importantly he is really generous and helpful. Hope you find him the same in your games. |

Thx for flagging the oversight on generals. I think McClellan automatically joined AOP as DCDR, given his political rating. I just didn't pick him up on my map. I'll resend shortly. Again, working 3 games simultaneously. And you know how challenging playing Geoff is. |

also you don't have McClellan in the AoP. which begs the question. When I placed him in Fredrick MD. Did he not automatically join the AoP? |
