Maybe the brits sacrificing the BEF to become a full strength corps and moving. I think that would force the Germans to attack again and it would leave the northern flank exposed. The good thing would be it would eat up turns that the CP must keep playing OPs and maybe the AP can get in some other cards to take advantage of overextended German lines in the Fall14 turn. |

Hi Andras, I am relooking at your original question, I see that you are suggesting an attack by the French armies in Verdun on Sedan. That is not a bad idea as long as something is placed in ChateauT just in case the battle doesn't go well. It might force the Germans to give up Sedan or take an army step loss. Of course it means probably another French army step loss as well and not much chance of moving into Sedan to retake it without exposing Verdun to attack. |

LOL. There are some many possibilities. 2 OPs - Move Paris and Cambrai. French army to Dijon and corps to ChateauT with the British army and the British Corps move to Amiens. I think that fills gaps and gives the breathing room that the AP needs to play other cards like armies and RPs which are dire to the cause. I would even say RPs are more important that army reinforcements at this time. The additional armies will come back when the deck gets reshuffled. So use the high RPs for those cards now. |

Thinking about Belfort a little more, and that part of the move could be ignored as long as there is a plan to deal with the Germans in 2 turns, because I just realized the Germans could not move in after another attack because the army will still be at a reduced strength. This doesn't mean Belfort can be ignored completely, only that shoring up the southern flank could be done next turn. Of course that would mean delaying the entrance of the French 7th Army. |

Adding an army in Paris is needed but i think shoring up the line is more important for this action round. Of you have 3 ops, then I would place move markers on Cambrai, Paris, and Nancy. I would move the British units in Cambrai, amry to ChateauT and corps to Amiens. Then the corps in Paris to join the brits in ChateauT and use the op for the army to attempt a level 2 trench. This would block the Germans from making any large enveloping movements. The move in Nancy would be to shore up the southern flank by moving one army to Belfort. Also remember to attempt a level 2 trench in Nancy. If the AP only has a 2 ops, then skip Paris. If the AP happened to have a 4 ops, then I might move the corps to Nancy to raise the total defensive combat value to 6. |

I am at a bit of a loss, so would welcome any advice just to make sure I last until Fall 1914. If I play reinforcement, I may get an army in PAris or London, deosn't really matter. By playing a 3 OPS card, you active Strasbburg, MEtz and Sedan, and complete the same envelopment you did in the previous game, effectively putting Verdun and Nancy OOS, with an Army in ChT, Bar le Duc, Melun and Orleans. So, against that I would have a AF6 force in Paris, trying to breakthrough any of the AF5 armies. However, this I can do right now, by attacking from Verdun or Cambrai (AF5). so, why wait? (other than hoping you do not have a 3 OPS card, which seems unlikely) Or what else am I missing? Your input is much appreciated. |
