Marc, I am going to call it quits. I am just too busy to keep going right now, but I hope later if we both have the time we can start up again in BtB or perhaps some other game. It has been a great experience playing you and I really like your opening! This game I will be honest, I mainly started to see your reaction to the opening. I made a mistake in that I shoud have attacked Kovel rather that B-L with the GE6. I think probably for the AL, keeping the AX from getting next to Kiev on T2AX1 is key. Odessa doesn't really matter, but penatration past it does, so I will be thinking about the best way to accomplish those two things. I was very lucky to beat you in the first round of the tournament and have learned so much from playing you. Thank you and best of luck in the next round! |

Funny you ask that question. Most opening moves deny that possibility. Another reason I like this opener is because it lays yet another trap in the 'retreat to Minsk' scenario. If you do that, now Pskov is open for an advance by the 4thPz from Memel and encirclement of the West front still happens. Now, if the 4thPz is in Pskov vs Dvinsk the Allied player is scrambling to cover routes to Stalin in the North leaving Leningrad wide open from the start and possibly losing an OP to use in the South. I don't have my map in front of me to discuss the other problems like what to do with the SUa in Riga if the 4thPz is in Pskov but I feel like I've won a super quick game in this scenario. |

I'm still playing with house money, so that makes me feel better. They gave me a free $100 bet when I signed up and I won betting on the Chiefs to beat the Bills. So then i took that money and spread it around, $50 for the Chiefs to win the Superbowl and the rest on various prop bets. Even if I lose them all, I would break even from my original sign-up. I just consider it entertainment spending and never go over my limits. |
