174 9/20/2021 2:19:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message I think I'll admit that this is one I am not going to get close to mastering and pass on a rematch.

Possible revisits include Hannibal RvC and We The People.

The game I thought of when looking at 1970s S&T modules was Veracruz.
173 9/19/2021 9:19:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Actually, the game is over since by the campaign victory conditions it states:
The Confederate player wins instantly at the end of the Fall 1864 game turn if the Union player SW value is less than 50, OR at the conclusion of any game turn if the Confederate SW value is greater than twice the Union SW total. Union SW is only 22- with the fall of the capital and the state penalties while the Confederate SW is 133+. Game over! Do you want to start this one again as the Union?

Message from Confederate:
I'm sending a file with the end turn phases and showing the Confederate reinforcements.
These rolls are for the blockade runner SPs. Blockade level is at 1.
1st roll: New Bern, NC
2nd roll: Charleston, SC
3rd roll: Columbus, Ga
4th roll: New Orleans
171 9/18/2021 7:59:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message I think the first thing on the end turn phases will be to relocate the Union capital so I will await your decision on that. See 3.41 and 11.23.
Just as a note, I would have used that "3" card to do a naval move of Burnside and 3 SPs from Fort Monroe (or even Pope and 2 SPs) to Washington, DC instead of activating McClellan two cards back. That might have saved the capital and the AoP. I certainly would not have had 3-1 odds.

169 9/18/2021 7:44:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Ouch! Lee gets repulsed in Florida and suffers a 3 to 2* result and falls back to Jacksonville with 3 SPs.
Pope loses both SPs but stays in the empty fort.

Message from Confederate:
Battle at St. Augustine, Fl: medium battle
1st roll for the attacking CSA corp under Lee with 6 SPs and +5 (+3 Lee and +2 for 3-1 odds)
2nd roll for the defending Union corp under Pope with 2 SPs and +2 (+0 for Pope and +2 for the fort)
167 9/18/2021 7:34:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message 2nd move of the major campaign:
Stuart's cavalry at Humboldt, TN will move using the rail bonus to Wytheville, Va. This leaves 2 SPs with Longstreet in Humboldt.

3rd move of the major campaign will be Lee in Florida.
1. He moves over to Live Oak and picks up the 1 SP there.
2. He moves back to Baldwin and picks up the 2 SPs there (now 3)
3. Fernandina and picks up the 1 SP there (now 4)
4. Jacksonville and picks up the 2 SPs there (now 6)
5. St. Augustine, Fl to battle Pope.
I'll roll this battle before continuing.
166 9/18/2021 7:30:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #84: 3 / Major Campaign
Conduct up to three moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Confederate:
TN 5 CSA 7: I rarely ever get a major campaign card and now I have gotten 2 so far this game and I don't think I have ever gotten a minor campaign and major campaign card in the same hand.
Use this as an event to perform 3 moves.
1st move will be a corp move out of the CSA AoNVa. Smith will take 5 SPs (leaving only 1 in the army with Jackson and Johnston). He moves:
1. Washington, DC and displaces the capital and destroys the Union fort. Union Strategic Will drops 30 points and goes from 67- to 37-.
2. Smith takes all 5 SPs to Annapolis where he drops off 1 SP. (now 4 with Smith)
3. Smith moves 4 SPs to Baltimore and drops 1 SP there. (now 3 with Smith)
4. Smith moves to Wilmington, DE with 3 SPs
5. Smith moves to Dover, DE and drops 1 SP there (now 2 with Smith)
6. Smith moves to Milford, DE and drops 1 SP (now 1 with Smith)
7. Smith moves 1 SP back to Dover
8. Smith moves that 1 SP to Wilmington, DE where he ends with 1 SP.
There should be 1 CSA SP in Annapolis, Baltimore, Dover, Milford and Wilmington (along with Smith).
165 9/17/2021 1:35:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #8: 1 / 3 Cigars
Play this card to make an automatic one or two space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during intercept.

Message from Union:
Was holding this back to possibly play the event but have not seen a worthwhile opportunity.

Move the 1SP (Parkersburg) – Charleston. Then await news of Washington.
164 9/17/2021 1:23:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message Correction on last Union moves: step 2 was

>2. Convert Greenville. Drop off 1SP at Greenville.

So 1SP did not take part at Rolla, leaving the status as 4SP in the Army at Ironton and 1SP at Greenville. I don't think it altered anything in the combat.
163 9/15/2021 12:30:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Buell survives and will return next turn.
You might have had an interrupt card that would change my move or I may have made a mistake. So look over this move and let me know. If it stands, Lincoln will probably take a ship and sail away because there are no defenders left in Washington. We each have 1 card left to play and it is your move.

Message from Confederate:
Battle at Washington, DC: results:
CSA attacking AoNVa rolls a 3 and with the +7 gets a modified 10 which gives a 3* result.
Union defending AoP rolls a 5 and with the +5 gets a 3 result.
Since this was a capital space with a fort the asterick doesn't count and the defending Union wins the medium battle and the Confederate AoNVa drops from 9 to 6 SPs and retreats back to Frederick, Md. The Union AoP loses 3 SPs and since the army is now at 0 SPs it is eliminated. Union Strategic will drops 10 points and goes from 77- to 67-.
Since there were modified 10's on both sides there is a possible leader casualty. The Confederates were exempt since they had 3-1 odds but Buell could have been killed as he was the only subordinate in the AoP.
This roll is for Buell who is killed on a 1-3 roll.

Message from Confederate:
Battle at Washington, DC: Medium battle:
1st roll attacking CSA AoNVa with 9 SPs and +7 (+3 Jackson, +1 J Johnston, +1 Smith and +2 for 3-1 odds)
2nd roll defending Union AoP with 3 SPs and +5 (+1 McDowell, +1 Buell, +2 fort and +1 for Iron brigade (you might as well use it now as it will increase the odds of Washington remining Union after the battle and increase the Confederate losses potentially))
160 9/15/2021 12:05:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #13: 2 / Missouri Guerrilla Raids
Confederate removes two Union PC markers from any two Missouri spaces that do not contain a Union SP or fort.

Message from Confederate:
TN 5 CSA 6: Use this to activate Jackson and the AoNVa at Frederick with 8 SPs.
1. Convert Frederick to CSA
2. Drop 1 SP at Frederick (so McDowell can't intercept the move back to Frederick later) and move to Manassas. (AoNVa at 7)
3. Pick up the 1 SP in Manassas (AoNVa at 8) and move back to Frederick.
4. Pick up the 1 SP left in Frederick (AoNVa now at 9) and move to attack Washington, DC.
159 9/15/2021 11:47:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Battle at Rolla results:
Union roll of 2 with +1 gives a 1 result.
CSA roll of 1 with +2 gives a 1 result.
Tie result with no asterick means the defender wins. Union AoM loses 1 SP and retreats back to Ironton with 5 SPs. Braggs force loses 1 SP and he is left with 2 SPs at Rolla counting the cavalry.

Message from Confederate:
Bragg successfully intercepts McClellan at Rolla.
Rolla battle: medium battle
1st roll attacking Union AoM with 6 SPs and +1 for generals (Pleasonton).
2nd roll defending Confederates with 3 SPs (counting Morgan's cavalry) and with +2 for the successful interception.

Message from Confederate:
Bragg will try and intercept the Union AoM at Rolla. His defense is 0 but he has Morgan's cavalry for a +2 so he would need a 1-2 to intercept. This roll is for Bragg's intercept attempt.
156 9/15/2021 11:27:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Greenville, Mo battle: medium battle:
Attacking Union AoM with 6 SPs and +5 (for generals +1 and +4 for odds). This will yield a 2 or 2* or 3* result which will eliminate the Confederate 1 SP.
Defending CSA 1 SP garrision with no adds. This will yield a 1 result regardless of the roll and the Union AoM drops from 6 to 5 SPs.
No general casualties because of the odds. I see no reason to roll this battle. McClellan wins and converts Greenville, then moves back to Ironton, picks up the 1 SP there (now 6) and moves to Rolla to battle the Confederates there.
155 9/15/2021 3:07:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #102: 3 / First Manassas
Confederate Player may move 2 SPs using Strategic Movement from the same space using rail connections only (5 space maximum) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. OR play this card as an automatic 2 space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during the intercept.

Message from Union:
Army Missouri will try to do as much of the following as possible, but will stop moving space to space if reduced below a strength of 3.

1. Move [6 strength] (Ironton) - Greenville to battle.

2. Convert Greenville. Drop off 1SP at Greenville.

3. Return to Ironton and pick up the 1SP there.

4. To Rolla to battle. Poss intercepted.

5. Convert Rolla.

6. On to Springfield to battle.
154 9/15/2021 3:06:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message Result is 2 / 3*

Message from Union:
>Defending Union with 1 SP and +2 for the fort would give a 1 result on 1-4 and essentially 2 result on a 5 or 6.

Top die the medium battle LEFT column with +2 for result on CSA attacker.

>Attacking CSA with 10 SPs and +9 for force ratio and generals would give a 3* result.

Bottom die the RIGHT column with +9 for result on USA defender.
152 9/15/2021 2:43:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message No AoP intercept so very lop-sided battle at Frederick.
151 9/14/2021 10:50:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message McDowell gets the lucky 1 roll and could intercept Jackson at Frederick. You could bring 2 or even all 3 SPs from Washington. Now the question is "Does he want to intercept. If he intercepts with all 3 SPs it would be a medium battle.
Attacking CSA AoNVa would have 10 SPs and +5 for generals. Union would lose 2 or 3 SPs.
Defending Union AoP would have 4 SPs and +6 for generals, fort and successful interception and possibly +1 more for the Iron brigade if you commit it. CSA would lose 2 or 3 SPs (probably 3)
If you intercept with only 2 SPs then the CSA AoNVa would have +2 more for 3-1 odds.
If you decide not to intercept then the battle for the fort would be:
Attacking CSA with 10 SPs and +9 for force ratio and generals would give a 3* result.
Defending Union with 1 SP and +2 for the fort would give a 1 result on 1-4 and essentially 2 result on a 5 or 6. (Attacking force can't lose more than twice the defending strength.)
A tough decision but it will depend on your remaining cards and your thoughts on how best to defend the capital and Lincoln.

Message from Confederate:
Possible intercept die roll for McDowell and the AoP to see if they could intercept Jackson at Frederick, Md. McDowell and the AoP does not have cavalry so he would have to roll a 1 to be successful.
149 9/14/2021 10:38:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #54: 1 / CSS Virginia
Confederate may place one Ironclad in a controlled port or coastal fort space.

Message from Confederate:
TN 5 CSA 5: Use this to activate Jackson and the AoNVa at Gettysburg.
1. Move the AoNVa and all 10 SPs and generals to Harrisburg, Pa and overrun the 1 SP there.
2. Move all to Philadelphia and overrun the 1 SP there.
3. York
4. Convert York to CSA
5. Gettysburg
6. Franklin, Md and attack the 1 SP in the fort there. McDowell and the AoP could potentially intercept so I'll roll to see if that is a possibility.

Message from Confederate:
Rolls to see which subordinate general is affected in the AoNVa and whether he is killed or wounded.
1st roll to determine the affected general:
1-2 = Pemberton
3-4= Smith
5-6 = Johnston
2nd roll to see if he is killed or wounded:
1-3 = killed
4-6 = wounded and he re-enters next turn.
146 9/14/2021 5:12:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message Um that was supposed to be a message and not a die roll. My subconscious must be itching to roll. I'll leave it to you to roll after designating who the rolls refer to.

Yes it will wear down the subordinates.
144 9/13/2021 9:34:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message I had to go to Mark Harman's web site and look at his message board Archive II to find the answer about if the commanding general would be eligible for the random roll on the card #4 Costly mistake. I thought the commanding general would be exempt due to the wording in 7.73 "The commanding general of an Army (not corps), is never killed unless he is the only general in the battle or due to the conditions on a Strategic Concentration EC." But then in Mark's Message Board archive Vol II it specifically addresses this card #4.
"Card 4 - Costly Mistake: Can this card hit a commanding general?
NO, the costly mistake card is specifically targeted against subordinate Generals, never commanding Generals."

So, do you still want to play this card even though the commanding general Jackson will not be one of the targeted generals?
143 9/13/2021 1:43:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #4: 1 / Costly Mistake
Pick an enemy army with two or more subordinate generals (includes Cavalry Generals) and randomly determine a target general. On a die roll of 1-3 the chosen general is killed and removed from play. On a die roll of 4-6 the general is wounded and removed from play, but re-enters during the reinforcement phase of the next game turn.

Message from Union:
Play this as an event on ANV. The target can be any of the generals in the army – not just the subordinates? I’ll leave you to roll and have not sent a file.
142 9/12/2021 9:38:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message The 2nd move of this minor campaign will be to activate Smith at Williamsburg, Va. He will take the 2 SPs there and do a corp move:
1. Hanover
2. Fredericksburg
3. Manassas where he drops off 1 SP
4. Strasburg
5. Winchester
6. Harper's Ferry
7. Chambersburg
8. Gettysburg and joins the AoNVa with now 10 SPs and one more general.
141 9/12/2021 9:35:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Rosecrans will re-enter on Turn 6.
Jackson's AoNVa with 9 SPs will continue their move:
5. Move all to Gettysburg
6. Convert Gettysburg to CSA control.

Message from Confederate:
Jackson wins big at Chambersburg with a 3* to 1 result. 5 roll for the attackers with +6 gives a modified 10 with a 3* result eliminating the 3 Union SPs. 5 roll for the attackers with +1 gives a 1 result (a 6 roll would give a 2 result) and the CSA Army of Northern Virginia drops from 10 to 9 SPs. No leader loss for the attackers with the 3-1 odds but a possible leader killed for the defenders.
This roll is for a leader loss check for Rosecrans who is killed only if this roll is a 1. Otherwise, he will enter on the next turn.

Message from Confederate:
Battle at Chambersburg: medium battle
1st roll attacking CSA Army of Northern Virginia with 10 SPs and +6 for Jackson and Johnston and 3-1 odds.
2nd roll Union corp under Rosecrans with +1 for Rosecrans and his 3 SPs.
138 9/12/2021 3:57:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message No card play at Chambersburg. Rosecrans will stand and fight to possibly delay things. Over to you. No file sent.
137 9/12/2021 3:51:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #67: 2 / J.B. Eads, Riverine Ironclads
The Union Amphibious Assault modifier is increased by two.

Message from Union:
Yes this wasn't played here.
136 9/11/2021 2:32:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #85: 3 / Minor Campaign
Conduct up to two moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Confederate:
TN 5 CSA 4: Use this as an event to activate two forces.
1st force will be the Army of Northern Virginia at Manassas. Jackson will take all 6 SPs and move:
1. Strasburg and pick up the 1 SP there. (now 7)
2. Winchester, Va
3. Harper's Ferry and pick up the 3 SPs and Joe Johnston and Pemberton. (now 10 SPs)
4. Chambersburg to battle Rosecrans and his 3 SPs.
Battle would be a medium battle with CSA with 10 SPs and +6 for Jackson and Johnston and 3-1 odds. Union would have +1 for Rosecrans and his 3 SPs.
Rosecrans could try and do a discretionary retreat and would be successful if he rolls a 1. No interception is possible since Harper's Ferry was already CSA garrisoned. You might have an interrupt card that would limit Jackson's AoNVa move so I'll await your decision and possible discretionary retreat. If the battle occurs and is successful, Jackson will continue his movement as he will have 2 movement points left.
Then I can move one additional force.
135 9/11/2021 4:38:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message You need to play the card in ACTS, #67 I believe.
134 9/10/2021 9:00:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #74: 2 / Political Crisis
The Union player may remove or demote one Union general for no SW cost. The cost for promoting a general with a lower political value still applies. OR remove ANY Union non-commanding general (even second in commands) from the game.

Message from Confederate:
TN 5 CSA 3: Use this for the 2 OPS to place Confederate PC markers back in Bowling Green and Somerset, Ky.
133 9/10/2021 1:06:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #42: 2 / Kentucky Anarchy
Remove up to three enemy PC markers in Kentucky. You must also remove one of your own PC markers from the state if you have any there. Removal of a PC marker makes a space neutral. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:
Remove Confederate markers from Bowling Green, Somerset and Lexington. Union marker from Falmouth.
132 9/8/2021 11:14:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #59: 2 / Farragut
Union may make a naval more with up to three SPs plus one general. Move may pass one ungarrisoned fort without “running the guns” to conduct an amphibious assault (may not pass an ironclad). Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.

Message from Confederate:
TN 5 CSA 2: Use this to form the Army of Northern Virginia at Manassas with Jackson as commanding general and 6 SPs. CSA incurs a strategic will penalty of -2 because of many generals on the map with higher ratings and goes from 118- to 116-.
131 9/8/2021 1:31:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message No continuation of movement by Rosecrans so over to you.
130 9/6/2021 2:53:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Joe gives Rosecrans the slip at Chambersburg and takes his force back to Harper's Ferry, now 3 SPs there. Will Rosecrans continue his move or stop at Chambersburg? If Rosecrans continues directly to Harper's Ferry he would be out of supply. He has 2 movement points left.

128 9/6/2021 5:28:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #24: 3 / Pre-War Treachery
Confederate may place up to two forts in any friendly controlled spaces with a LOC free of Union SPs and forts. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:
Continuing his burst of activity Rosecrans leaves the SP in Harrisburg and moves – Lewistown [pick up 2SP] – Harrisburg – York – Baltimore [pick up the SP] Gettysburg [possible interception] – Chambersburg to attack J Johnston.
127 9/5/2021 1:06:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #37: 2 / Confederate Scientist
Confederate immediately receives three SPs in any friendly controlled space with a LOC, free of Union SPs or forts. No more than one SP per confederate controlled state. No SPs may be placed in Pro-Union spaces.

Message from Confederate:
TN 5 CSA 1: Play this as an event and bring in 3 SPs.
1 in Manassas, Va (now 6 with Jackson)
1 in Lebanon, Ky
1 in Fayetteville, Ark
126 9/5/2021 1:04:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Another 1-1 result at Harrisburg, Pa. The Confederates technically win but are eliminated. Rosecrans force is reduced to 1 SP but are allowed to stay in Harrisburg. That was 8 moves by Rosecrans so he is out of movement but he cleared out a lot of Confederates from the PA state capitals.

Joe Johnston will try and intercept Rosecrans at Harrisburg. He would need to roll a 1-2 to be successful.

122 9/4/2021 3:47:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message The battle of Philadelphia results in a 1 to 1 loss result. This means that the defender technically wins but is eliminated. By 7.33 C. since Rosecrans began the battle with 2-1 odds he may continue his corp move. So I'll send it over to you to see if you want to continue moving Rosecrans. He should have 4 movement points left.

2 Zanesville, 2 Cincinnati.

2 Trenton, 1 Wilmington, 1 Baltimore.

106 8/30/2021 12:49:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Have been looking through everyhting anf I think you are right.

Am getting version mismatch warnings when opening your files but they then work. I am hesitant about doing a Vassal upgrade until we have finished PGG as I think that code becomes defunct and the module unusable.
105 8/27/2021 12:44:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message End of turn phases:
Political Control: PC changes
Union: no changes that I see.
Confederate: PC changes
Greenville, MO flips
Springfield, Mo flips
Jefferson City, Mo flips
Frankfort, Ky flips
Harper's Ferry Union PC removed
Chambersburg, Pa gets CSA PC
Harrisburg, Pa get CSA PC
Philadelphia, Pa gets CSA PC

Next is state control.
Confederates have 7 spaces with PC markers in Missouri and it becomes Confederate controlled. CSA Strategic Will increases by 10 and +2 for the change to positive and goes from 106- to 118+. Also because the state becomes Confederate, Rolla PC flips to CSA since the Union does not have anyone there.
The CSA has 3 PCs in Pennsylvania and this will add 5 SW to the Confederates and cost the Union 5 SW. CSA SW goes from 118+ to 123+. Union SW goes from 82- to 77-.

Attrition phase:
CSA:
Lee's force at Baldwin, Fl loses 1 and goes from 3 to 2 SPs.

Union:
AoM at Ironton, MO loses 1 and goes from 4 to 3 SPs
AoP at Washington, DC loses 1 and goes from 4 to 3 SPs (note that even though the rail is cut to the North, it is still in supply from the port)
Burnside's force at Fort Monroe, Va loses 1 and goes from 3 to 2 SPs.
Pope's force at St. Augustine, Fl loses 1 and goes from 5 to 4 SPs.

Next we go into the reinforcements for Summer of 1862, turn 5 and I'll let you place your reinforcements since the union supposed to go first. Note that you will only get 4 in the East, 6 in Central and 4 in the West but you will lose 2 of these reinforcements (your choice) for having two state capitals (Harrisburg and Philadelphia) under CSA control. See 10.3.
104 8/26/2021 9:33:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Fighting Joe Johnston wins at Harper's Ferry with a 2* to 1 result. Both Union SPs are eliminated. Confederates lose 1 SP and Joe is down to 5 SPs. He will continue his move by dropping 2 SPs and Pemberton at Harper's Ferry and moving with the remaining 3 SPs:
4. Chambersburg, Pa where he drops off 1 SP (now 2)
5. Harrisburg, Pa where he drops off 1 SP (now 1 with Johnston)
6. Philadelphia, Pa where he drops off the last 1 SP
7. Harrisburg
8. Chambersburg where he ends with the 1 SP there.

Message from Confederate:
Battle at Harper's Ferry Spring 1862: medium battle:
1st roll attacking Confederate corp of 6 SPs under Joe Johnston with +1 for Johnston and +2 for 3-1 odds for a net of +3.
2nd roll defending Union 2 SPs with no adds.
102 8/26/2021 9:18:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message For the 3rd general, I will activate Joe Johnston in Manassas for a corp move. He will take all 4 SPs there and move:
1. Strasburg
2. Winchester and pick up Pemberton and 2 SPs (now 6)
3. Harper's Ferry and battle the 2 SPs there. I'll roll since you have no cards left. If successful, Joe will continue.
101 8/26/2021 6:07:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message The 2nd general move will be Bragg at Springfield, Mo.
Bragg will take 2 SPs (leaving Morgan in Springfield) and move:
1. Kansas City, Mo
2. Lexington, Mo
3. Jefferson City, Mo where he drops off 1 SP
4. Lexington
5. Kansas City
6. Springfield where he ends with 1 SP and Morgan's cavalry.
100 8/26/2021 5:58:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message McClellan does not get to intercept Beauregard at Greenville even if he wanted to so Beauregard continues his move.
6. Beauregard leaves the 1 SP in Greenville, Mo and moves back to New Madrid.
7. Humboldt (but does not pick up anyone there)
8. Memphis where he ends in the fort with 2 SPs.

Message from Confederate:
Die roll to see if McClellan could intercept Beauregard at Greenville, Mo. He would need 1-2 to intercept.
98 8/26/2021 5:54:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #83: 3 / Major Campaign
Conduct up to three moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Confederate:
TN 4: CSA 7: Play this as an event to do 3 moves.
1st general will be Beauregard at Dover, TN. He takes 1 SP (leaving 1 in the fort) and moves:
1. Paducah and picks up Stuart
2. Columbus Ky (but does not pick up Price or his 2 SPs)
3. Humboldt, where he drops off Stuart's cavalry and doesn't pick up the 1 SP in Humboldt.
4. New Madrid with 1 SP
5. Greenville, Mo where McClellan could intercept if he rolls 1-2 and wants to. I'll pause here and roll for McClellan's possible interception.
97 8/26/2021 4:50:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Wheeler is killed and since we are not playing with the optional cavalry general replacements, his counter is placed on the turn record track to return on game turn 7. According to 5.54 If at any time the Cavalry General is killed during a battle or due to an event card, the Cavalry Brigade piece is removed from play and 1 SP is placed on the Game Turn Record Track to return next game turn during the reinforcement phase. So Joe Johnston's force is down to 4 and 1 SP will return next turn.

Ambush roll against Wheeler:
1-3 Wheeler is killed
4-6 No effect
95 8/26/2021 1:42:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #6: 1 / Ambush
Target any enemy cavalry general not located with an army and make a casualty die roll. On a die roll of 1-3 the cavalry general is killed, on a die roll of 4-6 there is no effect.

Message from Union:
No file sent. Play the event. Target Wheeler at Manassas.

I’ll let you roll. I assume that if successful the Wheeler piece is removed but 1SP is placed on the map as he had died not his troops.
94 8/26/2021 1:38:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message No card that can do anything to counter that.
93 8/22/2021 9:26:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Battle at Springfield, Mo results in a 1 to 1 loss factor. The Union 1 SP is eliminated and the Confederates drop to 3 SPs (counting the cavalry). No leader loss and Bragg could continue since the defending force was eliminated and he had 2-1 odds + but he is out of movement and will end at Springfield.

Message from Confederate:
You might have an intercept or interrupt card that would cancel Braggs move but I doubt it since you didn't play one for the Union Army of the Cumberland earlier in the turn.
Battle at Springfield, Mo: Small battle
1st roll attacking Confederates with 4 SPs and +3 for 4-1 odds and +1 for Bragg for a net of +4.
2nd roll defending Union 1 SP with no adds.
91 8/22/2021 9:20:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #78: 3 / Personal Advisor
Either player may remove or demote from army command one general for no SW penalty. Penalties for promoting a general with a lower political value still apply. OR remove ANY non-commanding general (even second in commands) from the game.

Message from Confederate:
Pemberton fails to intercept at Harper's Ferry (no surprise).
TN 4 CSA 6: Use this to activate Bragg at Memphis for a corp move.
1. Bragg moves to Humboldt and picks up Morgan's cavalry brigade but leaves the 1 SP there.
2. Move back to Memphis (still leaving the 2 SPs in the fort)
3. Madison, Ark and pick up the 1 SP there (now 2 SPs with Bragg counting Morgan's cavalry)
4. Elizabeth, Ark
5. Little Rock, Ark and pick up the 1 SP in the fort (now 3 with Bragg)
6. Clarksville, Ark.
7. Fayetteville, Ark and pick up the 1 SP there (now 4 with Bragg counting Morgan)
8. Springfield, Mo and battle the 1 Union SP there.

Message from Confederate:
Pemberton at Winchester, Va will try and intercept that 2 SP division move into Harper's Ferry. He would have to roll a 1 to be successful.
89 8/22/2021 4:51:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #39: 2 / Draft Riots in New York
The Union must remove three SPs (Union chooses). If possible the SPs must come from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, or Washington DC.

Message from Union:
Detach 2SP from AoP who move (Washington) – Harpers Ferry to plug the gap.
88 8/22/2021 4:47:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Regarding Halleck, I think the key lead sentence is:

An inactive general may never be left with no SPs at any time.
87 8/21/2021 1:50:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #73: 1 / Ball's Bluff
The Union removes one SP (Confederate chooses) within two spaces (including a river connection) of a Confederate SP due to poor leadership. A Union SP can be removed from a Coastal fort.

Message from Confederate:
TN 4 CSA 5: Play this as an event. The Union removes 1 SP (Confederate chooses) within two spaces of a Confederate SP. I will remove the Union 1 SP at Harper's Ferry Virginia. Halleck is there and will be left by himself. According to the first sentence of 5.34 I think he should be moved to the turn record track since he would be left with no SPs at the end of this strategy round even though that doesn't meet cases 1 or 2 under this rule.
86 8/21/2021 2:58:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #80: 1 / Southern Religious Revival
Confederate player immediately receives three SPs in a single space, and loses three SW points. SPs must be placed in a friendly controlled space (including Pro-Union spaces) with a LOC free of Union SPs.

Message from Union:
Place Union fort at Cairo.
85 8/19/2021 3:27:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #77: 2 / Stop the War
Union SW reduced by five points. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
TN 4 CSA 4: Play as an event to reduced the Union SW by 5. Union Strategic will drops from 87- to 82-.
84 8/19/2021 2:58:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #71: 3 / General Scott, The Anaconda Plan
The Union player may either increase the Blockade Level by one or increase the Amphibious Assault modifier by two.

Message from Union:
Blockade level increase.
83 8/19/2021 2:19:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #53: 1 / CSS Arkansas
Confederate may place one Ironclad in a controlled port or coastal fort space.

Message from Confederate:
TN4 CSA 3: Play as an event and place the Arkansas ironclad at Forts St. Philip/Jackson
82 8/19/2021 1:33:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #89: 1 / Quaker Guns
Play as an interrupt to cancel the activation of any Union general with a strategy rating of 2 or 3.

Message from Union:
Move 1SP (St Louis) – Cincinnati.
81 8/14/2021 2:42:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message A. Johnston wins at Frankfort with a 2* to 1 result. The CSA AoT drops 1 SP down to 2 SPs. AoC loses 2 in the battle and because they can't retreat to Louisville (which is why I left a rear guard there) or Lexington the AoC is destroyed. CSA AoT is left at Frankfort and for now the Union PC remains there. No general casualties and Buell will re-enter next turn. Union Strategic Will drops 10 for the loss of the army and goes from 97- to 87-. CSA picks up nothing for the victory and stays at 106-.
You might have a card that will influence this last battle and if so you can play it after seeing the results but in the interest of time I went ahead and moved and rolled.

Message from Confederate:
CSA AoT continues after winning at Lexington by converting Lexington to CSA with their 4th movement point and then moving against the Union Army of Cumberland at Frankfort.
Battle at Frankfort: Medium battle
First roll attacking CSA AoT with 3 SPs and +7 (+1 A. Johnston, +3 Forrest, +1 Van Dorn, +2 for Union out of supply at the time of combat) (which is the right side column for the defender's result)
Second roll defending Union AoC with 6 SPs and +1 (+1 for Wilder's brigade and +0 for Buell as his rating is lowered for no cavalry) (which is the left side column for the attacker's result).
79 8/14/2021 1:45:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message 1 to 1*.

76 8/9/2021 11:50:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #30: 3 / Glory Hallelujah
Union immediately receives three SPs for raising Negro troops. The SPs can be placed in any Union controlled space (even one without a LOC) that doesn’t contain a Confederate SP or fort.

Message from Confederate:
TN 4 CSA 2: Use this for OPS to activate the newly formed CSA Army of Tennessee at Louisville. They will drop 1 SP there (leaving 4 in the army and all generals) and move:
1. Lebanon
2. Somerset
3. Lexington and battle the 1 Union SP there.
Buell could intercept on a die roll of 1 (which I expect him to try) or you might have an interrupt card that will limit my move.
Anyway, the battle at Lexington will be a small battle if Buell does not intercept. CSA will have +5 for generals and +3 for 4-1 odds for a net of +7.
I'll stop and see if you want to play an interrupt or intercept card and / or roll for the interception attempt. If Buell intercepts it would be a medium battle with Union +2 for interception and maybe +1 for the elite brigade. Buell's rating is lowered to zero because of the lack of cavalry. Confederates would have +4 for generals. (I'll use Polk instead of Van Dorn if Buell intercepts to lessen the odds of losing a general). I'll await your response.
75 8/9/2021 5:13:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #15: 1 / Mosby's Raiders
Confederate can remove two Union PC Markers in Virginia within 2 spaces of Winchester, VA. The spaces may contain Union generals, SPs or forts.

Message from Union:
Place a fort at St Augustine.
