A close 2nd is Vero.
140 9/9/2021 10:31:00 PM 216 BC Rome Message I'll try to be more careful. And funnier. I should have picked Flabius.
139 9/9/2021 9:22:00 AM 216 BC Carthage Message And just so you are clear I am joking. You are the last guy I would ever suspect of doing ANYTHING like that. So I am 100% joking.

You may lead off the turn Sir Rome.
138 9/9/2021 9:21:00 AM 216 BC Carthage Message I love that! Name one guy Proconsul. Use the number of the other guy. And then you have both bases covered!! I'm stealing that one from you :)

Just kidding. All good. I'm fine with either choice.
137 9/9/2021 9:13:00 AM 216 BC Rome Message OOps I changed my mind. In the final note I marked #3 Flaminius as the necessary re-roll, so that was the intention.

So Flaminius is Proconsul under Varro as I noted next.

126 9/7/2021 6:32:00 PM 217 BC Rome Play Strategy card as Event #23: 3 / Numidian Ally
(Rome) Place up to three Roman PCs in Eastern Numidia in spaces which do not contain enemy CUs. If the space contains a Carthaginian PC, the PC is simply flipped.

Message from Rome:
I used to test rules intepretations using the Wargamesroom program as Bruce Wigdor was in on the development of the 2nd Edition. The old FAQs address 1st Edition questions which the 2nd Edition amply answered.

I think it's clearly 2 Retreat Losses so Marcellus must be Displaced. An example would have helped the same as the Withdrawal sanction.

Roman 7th Card, as expected: Event

Flip Sitifis, Cirta and Thevestis EN.

I'll proceed to the End phase.
125 9/7/2021 11:47:00 AM 217 BC Carthage Message It's an interesting question on the displacement.
Because he loses his last CU as he gains two more.
I am leaning towards displacement, but because it benefits me, I want to lean back the other way to not displaced to make sure I am not being biased :)

I am fine with either decision.
124 9/7/2021 10:24:00 AM 217 BC Rome Message Hanno's ability does not apply if he engages in battle [24.0]

I see you have flipped Icosium anyway.

Do you agree Marcellus was Displaced due to Retreat losses although it seems odd since it happens as he fulfills a legal Retreat.
123 9/7/2021 10:20:00 AM 217 BC Carthage Play Strategy card as Operations #18: 2 / Traitor in Tarentum
(Both) If you use this card as an OC to siege Tarentum, it comes under your control without a Siege die roll. Enemy CUs inside are eliminated.

Message from Carthage:
Well .. it doesn't look like Hannibal is going to get to Tarentum ..

Flip Ilerda
Icosium
122 9/7/2021 10:17:00 AM 217 BC Carthage Message I believe Hanno's ability removed Icosium as well. Agree?
121 9/7/2021 10:16:00 AM 217 BC Carthage Message That's interesting. So you can retreat there because of the CU count ... but you cannot withdraw to there.
120 9/6/2021 11:37:00 PM 217 BC Rome Message ...and now looking at 15.3.1 Marcellus should lose an additional CU for the Retreat into the enemy PC in Tupusuctu, leaving him +2. I am not sure if Marcellus is therefore Displaced (10.10), but it seems so.

I may have some ancient FAQs to consult.

Anyway Bilbilis ID will be Removed.
119 9/6/2021 11:24:00 PM 217 BC Rome Play Strategy card as Operations #5: 2 / Native Guide

118 9/6/2021 11:23:00 PM 217 BC Rome Message Looking at Rule 16.3.c I should not have attempted a Withdrawal. Although 16.3.d seems to belie the rule.

I assumed it was handled the same as Retreat in Rule 15.1.1 which I had already consulted.
117 9/6/2021 11:14:00 PM 217 BC Rome Message The wily Marcellus loses but 1 and Retreats to Tupusuctu WN (now +3). No political losses.

3rd Move - Hanno + 5 to Citra.
98 9/5/2021 12:47:00 PM 217 BC Rome Message Need 3 PC Removal for Political consequences
97 9/5/2021 12:42:00 PM 217 BC Rome Message No Intercept into Ilerda.

I did not have a Probe left but I knew I had all the Lefts and you had used your Probe ability. So I had no particular fear of a loss to Probe.

Withdraw was your best strategy since you had just 1 Reserve and with 2 attempts that was better odds since I could easily have had a match or two.
96 9/5/2021 12:33:00 PM 217 BC Carthage Message The key question then is ... did you have another PROBE? I had one left.
95 9/5/2021 12:30:00 PM 217 BC Carthage Message Hannibal loses 6(1e).

He retreats back to Ariminum with 4(1e).
Now, Hannibal/Gisgo + 5(1e) in Ariminum.

Fabius loses 2 for the effort.
Now, Fabius + 8 in Firmum Picenum.

2nd Move - Hasdrubal + 4 to Ilerda. You could attmept intercept.
