287 | 4/6/2022 10:53:00 AM | Turn 3 | United Kingdom | Message |
Stated advantages per 3.32: UK bonus in agenda phase so playing a high card should guarantee or boost chances of winning it. At the cost of a card you might want to use later of course. IN the middle level card stakes it means that if others play low or medium the UK probably wins. USA tiebreaker. Of course all the individual character cards have their advantages, quirks and disadvantages. UK card 3: Cripps moves UK production 5+1 for bonus from middle to 6 spot on UK track. |

USSR will debate the UK play with Alexander Vasilevsky, he's a 4 with a +1 for Nyet so the US DO marker moves from the UK-3 space to the USSR-2 space. Also I get a an Offensive Support marker on the Eastern Front for playing Vasilevsky. Round to Bob for the USA to advance an issue. |

>So does that mean that a roll is required to see if the Western Front advances into the UK? Yes it does as it does not require the Second Front Issue and there are 3 Naval in place. It should succeed on 1-2 on a d10. The US Directed Offensive marker there was covered by fleet placement. Please check and one of you roll if this seems right. |

C2 Front advances Bob you are going the wrong way in evaluating front rolls. Fronts advance when the d10 roll is less than or equal to the front strength. Also the naval strength is needed for a roll to be made, the modified strength comes from base of 2 +/- the 2s from the OS markers with artillery on them and the axis reserve armies. So the 1 roll means that there was an advance in the Med [1 is less than or equal to 4]. Central Pacific fails. There’s the base 2 strength to the roll with no modifiers [the 4 naval make the roll possible according to 7.72 point 1] and 9 is greater than 2. Similarly SW Pacific has a base of 2 and the roll was 4. |

Front advancement rolls Lets do Russia first Start with +2 for base add 2 for every offensive so 6 to USSR then -2 for each German so 12 for Axis NO ROLL as not possible to get to 10 Next Normandy - a qualifiers here - have to have 5 NAVAL (check) - So Allies is auto 2 + 6 naval (so 14) Axis is 0 so AUTO WIN of the area - ADVANCE into UK Note - going forward until Normandy is invaded we can NOT invade unless we have the 2nd Front debate issue on the table So no roll here - moving on to Soft Underbelly - Italy/Med Allies in Med - 2 + 4 for 2 marker - Axis 2 for 1 marker - so 6 to 2 +4 on 10 side die |

Europe. German reserves start with 1 to Don River from the Conference card. Then 1 more for category 2 and 4 for category 4 (Eastern Horde). So all 6 go to Don River. Battle of the Atlantic causes a Naval marker removal. Italian Reserve to Sicily. |

You can only place PA markers in places where you have CNs, see first sentence of 7.3 (I assume this represents having people on the ground doing hearts and minds work, or using persuasion - friendly or otherwise - to get the popular support for the desired political alignment. I only see a US cn in Denmark so if my map is correct then you can't place PAs in Austria or Yugoslavia. |

Sorry for the delay, I have been unwell all this last week. I visited friends last weekend and one of them came down with covid the next day. I haven't had any covid symptoms, but have been completely exhausted/washed-out and have barely felt able to get out of bed, let alone consider my position in either this or Washington's War. That will move it along. No file sent as Bob can move it when he: 1. Resolves the Global Issue. 2. Places his Clandestine Networks as he has the most. We each get 1 plus those from activated won Pol-Mil issues. Bob gets 1 + 5 from the two issues. So 6. 3. Bob then tie breaks whether UK or Soviets go next with CN placement. Theatre Leadership: there were no T L Issues won. So now per 6.91 UK and US get extra Production for Europe and Pacific T L? File sent adjusting USA production from A Bomb to W Europe Fleet. Then put a UK Offensive Support marker in Sicily for TL. |
216 | 3/2/2022 5:15:00 PM | Turn 2 | United Kingdom | Message |
Production, Pol-Mils and A-Bomb. 6.8. You need to devote a production marker to activate the Pol-Mil marker and get the CN and PA markers. As Bob did. Otherwise the issues just count against your tally when reckoning whether you have won the conference. 6.10 A-Bomb. A production marker does not need to be allocated to activate. If won (so not in middle of table) it automatically generates a roll on the Research Track, which succeeds on a roll of 4-6. Adding a production marker makes the roll succeed on a 3-6. Yes Bob should devote production to a W Europe fleet not A-bomb. |
215 | 3/2/2022 5:33:00 AM | Turn 2 | Soviet Union | Message |
I think that's what I'd do, it's only the second conference so there's plenty of time to put resources into the A-Bomb project once there's some military progress. Although I want to see the second front opened up in Europe, so "I would say that, wouldn't I?" |
214 | 3/2/2022 5:22:00 AM | Turn 2 | United States | Message |

I've been a bit under the weather and I'm also changing my car, which is taking more time than I had expected. At the moment there is not enough naval support on the Western Front for an advance because one will be lost to the German navy, so there need to be four rather than three in the box when Axis reserves are placed. |

I see that Britain won the A Bomb but did NOT allocate any production to A Bomb roll - I will do so for my first placement. two have to go to Fleet in Normandy - per British US allocation placement. Paul you placed direct offensives marker on the LAND space but did you want ti to be on the SEA space so we can then move onto Britain? If not then change the naval to land offensive markers One production marker for each of the POL/MOL won markers. last 2 will go to Solomons area |
