Yep. I know how frustrating could be playing Allied, going into ISR in Turn 3, not being able to get rid of it for 3 full turns against an opponent who quietly enjoys his service agreement from the beginning to the end. I was mostly lucky with cards, who gave me back what dice have stolen (but in a couple of decisive circumstances I couldn't complain of dice too...). I played maybe a solid game strategically even if I committed some nasty blunders at tactical level. As for you, you played a very good game, the only blunder was not having seen my chance to use organic transport in reaction at the Biak battle, which costed you a -1 in PW due to ground casuualties and, maybe, the whole game. #22: 2 / Weather: Monsoon Rains Cancel Offensive Allied Offensive is canceled. All units are placed back at their starting locations. Remove from play if used as an event. OC: 4 EC: 0 Message from Japanese: Event. Your offensive is cancelled... and that's game. I was lurking here with this card since the very beginning of the turn, looking forward to: a) move last b) using it at the very end of the turn, in order to deny you the last PoW target. In order to achieve that, it was necessary that you wouldn't get your 4th PoW target BEFORE your last move. But quite soon it was clear that not being able to get rid of ISR you were forced to save your last ASP until the very end, so - despite some unlucky intelligence die rolls - I realized that my chances to succeed were very good. You could (in theory) have improved your chances using US [XIV Army] to invade, let say, Gasmata instead of moving it to Port Moresby in your former move... in that case I had cancelled THAT move with this card and then used the one I stored as FO to take back Koepang. At that point, you had moved last but... hardly you could have taken 3 more PoW targets with 2 ASP only remaining... so very likely, you were doomed even with a superior level of hindsight (it's hard to fight against a JP player who pulls out all 3 weather cards within the first half of the game...) |

Finally, a critical for me too... Both of us realize a "1": I inflict 40 hits, the critical allows me to destroy BB Massachussets, which I do indeed. You inflict 30 hits but since all my striking units are out of the battle hex, with a single a/n unit involved in the battle you can hit an air unit only: please choose which one you want to flip since it may be relevant before I choose how to perform my pbm. In the meanwhile, I submitted logfile in the box. It's not necessary you submit a file of yours, just declare which JP air unit you want to flip and I'll execute on top of my following pbm logfile. |
