So I've now taken my 2 core actions, and my turn might be over, but I can now take a Bonus action. Bonus actions can be taken at any time during your turn, and timing the order of bonus vs. core actions can be important.
These bonus (card-based) actions are described in p. 12-14, and are shown on the bottom of each card. Some cards e.g. B0 SFO have more than one card-based action on them, but you can only ever play one bonus action per each individual card in a turn. However, you can play as many bonus actions as available, from as many cards in your court that are eligible.
I'm eligible for a bonus action, as the suit of my JH card in my court is purple/political, and this suit matches the current favored suit on the game board, as marked by the phallic rocket in the purple/political space on the board. (The favored suit is most commonly changed when a card is played to a court, and that card has a "change suit" icon. Right now, the only card in the market with a "change suit" icon is B2 HB, and as it happens, that change suit icon would keep the favored suit as purple/political when played).
For my JH card, I'm eligible to take one Tax action (p.13), and I'll tax/take 1 rupee from card To JS in the market - my rupees now go to 2.
After that, I really am finished, so I'll need to re-set the market (Vassal can do this for me). Cards slide over from right to left to fill vacant spots in the market (carrying any rupees on them with them as they go), and then new cards are drawn for any resulting empty spaces in the market. In our game, there will be a vacancy in the market in position T5. I (more exactly, Vassal) take a card from the deck and put it in position T5.
new T5= event #113
I'll send yet another screenshot (Pax-5), and Dave's turn is next.

When you play a card to your court, you implement some disc actions and a possible bank leverage event as shown by the icons in the top right corner of the card just played. These icons are called Impact Icons, and are described on p.11
For my JH card, I get to place 1 red disc (a tribe) in Punjab. As it happens, this qualifies me as the Ruler of Punjab, and in your game I'll nab the large wooden disc from Punjab (it's represented as a large red disc on Vassal). Being aRuler has some important bennies, described on p.7 (again, we'll cover these as we go along).
I'll send yet another screenshot (Pax-4) of what the board looks like.

Next, I take my 2nd Action. On a 1st turn, it's very common to Purchase a 2nd card from the market. Note that I can now only buy a card from position 0 or 1, as I only have 1 rupee remaining. Also note that I can't buy any card in this 2nd action, if I placed a rupee on that card in my 1st action, i.e. I can't buy T0 or T1. (there's a slightly different process off buying cards and placing rupees if I wanted to buy T0 and then T3, for example).
However, for my 2nd action in this learning game, for my 2nd action:
Play the card JH from my HAND, to my COURT. The COURT cards are the cards laid down on the Pax board in front of me. I'll take another screenshot (Pax-3) and will send to illustrate.

OK, I'll finally take my turn!
Action 1. Purchase
(at the very start of the game, I can't do anything else)
I'll purchase card JH in T3. I have to place 1 rupee on each of cards in T0, T1, and T2, i.e. all the cards to the left of T3.
I then take card JH in to my card HAND, which is a temporary holding space for cards. I'll take another screenshot (Pax-2) of my Pax board, so you can follow along.

You take 2 core actions each player turn - Purchase and Play (p.10-11). You can take 1 of each, or 2 of the same. Depending upon which cards you have in your Court (i.e. cards played to the game board), you may qualify for Card-based actions (p. 12-14), based on the icons at the bottom of each card, and if that card matches the current favored suit. You may also qualify for Special actions/abilities, which aren't very well described in the rules (shown on p.3), but are the text boxes at the bottom of some cards (e.g. card B2 HB), and are generally self-explanatory. Special actions/abilities can always be take, if eligible to do so.

The starting cards in the market are as follows (T = top row, B = bottom row). I've listed the card #s, and also the initials for the name on each card (listing both the # and the name/initials helps to keep the game straight for everyone). You'll probably want to set up your hard copy of the game to match.
In just a minute, I'll take a screenshot of my Pax board (on Vassal), and email to you to see how things should look.

So, everyone starts with 4 rupees. There's a quite detailed process that we should go through for choosing loyalty, but for this learning game, I've arbitrarily chosen loyalty for us (I'll try and explain what loyalty is, and it's importance as we go along). I've also arbitrarily set the turn order so that I'm first, then Dave, then Zaenab, then me, and so on.
Vassal has been nice enough to deal the cards and set up the market cards for us, and I'll type these in to ACTS in just a second. I'll also take a screenshot of my Pax board on Vassal, so you can see what things look like.
