205 2/5/2023 8:43:00 PM Turn 10 Red Adams Message I think you might have confused PA (on the main map) with NJ (right next door but on the smaller states listed off to the right side
204 2/5/2023 7:41:00 PM Turn 10 Yellow Clay Message Bob's right, did you misread the card? It says +2 in NJ and the state is not locked down.
203 2/4/2023 9:00:00 PM Turn 10 Red Adams Message WHY can you not put cubes in NJ?

PA is locked down not NJ (one of the SMALL states
off to the right side of board
202 2/4/2023 4:39:00 PM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message Continuing with the discards of the impossibles: -2 Cubes in N Jersey. Can't be done.

Yellow Clay next.
201 2/4/2023 10:55:00 AM Turn 10 Red Adams Message Thanks - shows you what happens when trying to do a move early in the morning with less than a cup of coffee and old glasses instead of newer contact lens....
200 2/4/2023 10:45:00 AM Turn 10 Blue Jackson Message The card that Bob played which added 1 to Alabama should have been an octagon instead of a cube. I fixed that and played another card which had no effect due to a lockdown in Kentucky. Next, it will be Green's turn to play a card.
199 2/4/2023 8:53:00 AM Turn 10 Red Adams Message One added to Alabama
198 2/4/2023 6:27:00 AM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message Yes all very fast at the table. However doing 'nothing' is often something in a game. My benchmark is King of Siam where passing is often the thing to do.
197 2/3/2023 4:40:00 PM Turn 10 Yellow Clay Message I played a Card for North Carolina which is locked down, so that's effectively a discard. Round to Bob/Red to play a card.
196 1/30/2023 7:42:00 PM Turn 10 Blue Jackson Message Yes, it is Nick's turn to play a card in the final push. Then Bob plays a card followed by me, Blue
195 1/28/2023 10:06:00 AM Turn 10 Red Adams Message Yellow (Nick) is up next right?

Sorry, kind of losing track of what is happening here
- 4 player games sometimes take so long normally anyway
to get back around to your move.
194 1/26/2023 3:10:00 AM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message ...or next. Cards at this stage divide into cards that have no effect, those that don't advance your position and then those that do.
193 1/26/2023 3:09:00 AM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message -2 Cubes Kentucky. No effect. Yellow Clay First.
192 1/26/2023 3:06:00 AM Turn 10 Green Crawford Edit Notes Red Adams: from Starts T10, the last turn then comes Final Push to
Blue Jackson: from to Starts Final Push
Green Crawford: from to Ends Final Push
Yellow Clay: from to
191 1/25/2023 1:34:00 PM Turn 10 Blue Jackson Message Blue goes first and play continues clockwise for the final push.
My first card is a card for North Carolina which is in lockdown and has no effect.
File sent and next Green will play a card followed by Yellow and then Red.
190 1/25/2023 1:20:00 PM Turn 10 Blue Jackson Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

4

Message from Blue Jackson:
Blue has the remaining cards back from Yellow so that ends turn 10.
Card count according to the Vassal file:
Red: 5
Blue: 8
Green: 8
Yellow: 6
Since Blue and Green are tied for the most cards I will roll to see who goes first between the two of us.
1,3,5 = Green goes first
2,4 or 6 = Blue goes first
189 1/25/2023 4:05:00 AM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message Once Blue has taken the cards back we are on to the final stage of playing out the retained cards. Whoever has the most cards goes first. I think if equal we just roll to decide rather than draw event cards to break the tie.
188 1/22/2023 5:31:00 PM Turn 10 Yellow Clay Message It turns out that going to the shops for almost five hours was enough to put me back in bed for a day and a half.

I'll play William Eustis. He gives me two cubes and two octagons in Massachussetts, which is locked down so that doesn't happen, then an octagon in the North, which I'll place in Vermont, then I lose two of my own cubes in the West, but I only have two and they're both in locked down states so that doesn't happen either.

I'll use my AP to place an octagon in Maryland.

I'll use my Insight to take a card from Blue.
187 1/19/2023 7:26:00 AM Turn 10 Yellow Clay Message Sorry for the long delay. I don't know what I've had but yesterday was the first day I've been out of bed for more than an hour or so and able to concentrate since Christmas. I'm about to go out to the shops and will be back with the games this evening.
186 1/13/2023 5:25:00 AM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message Nick / Yellow / Clay to go when you are back in circulation.
185 12/29/2022 5:16:00 PM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message Card taken and events tidied up.
184 12/29/2022 4:12:00 PM Turn 10 Yellow Clay Message Sorry for the delay again. I visited a friend in the run-up to Christmas and it turns out that the cold he thought had cleared up was still infectious - I was only in his house for an hour but still caught it and have had another several days in bed, starting on Christmas Eve.

I have placed my cards in the exchange window for Green to do the "draw two and keep one" routine and have sent the logfile.
183 12/23/2022 4:48:00 PM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message Then the Insight. Target for steal is Yellow Clay.
182 12/23/2022 4:47:00 PM Turn 10 Green Crawford Message Mahlon Dickerson Event. 2AP + Insight slot.

+1 Oct and +1 cube N Jersey

Draw a single Populace Card

...

2AP:

Political Intrigue. Lose one Oct Louisiana while Blue Jackson loses two.

Work The Back Rooms. Draw 4 Pol cards and keep 1.
181 12/23/2022 6:55:00 AM Turn 10 Red Adams Message All cards passed back and forth so Green should be up?
180 12/21/2022 4:58:00 PM Turn 10 Blue Jackson Message TN 10 Blue
I cleaned up the event cards from Red's move and got my cards back from the exchange.
Now the current card count: Red 6, Blue 7, Green 5, Yellow 6
I played 3 matching event cards to lock down Pennsylvania to hopefully make it into 3rd place in the electorial collage. I have a very slim majority in Pennsylvania at this point. Yellow and Blue have 3 cubes each and Blue has 3 Octagons to 2 for Yellow.
I drew the Edward Coles Event card which is above the 1 AP + 1 insight position.
The event card gives 1 Oct in the West and 1 in the North which I will use to place an Oct in Illinois and Rhode Island. It also gives 2 cubes in Illinois and 1 politician card and I have to remove 2 Oct in the South. Those will come from South Carolina which I will concede to Yellow.
For my one action point I will place an additional 1 Oct in Illinois.
For my 1 insight, I will draw a card back from Red.
I'll send a file up to this point and wait until Red passes his cards to the exchange.
179 12/21/2022 6:06:00 AM Turn 10 Red Adams Message all should be back in Blue exchange box - Now Red turn is over
178 12/20/2022 9:02:00 AM Turn 10 Blue Jackson Message Blue's cards placed in exchange for Red's insight draw and file sent.
177 12/20/2022 7:59:00 AM Turn 10 Red Adams Message Okay - I picked up a Populus card.

Now for my 2 AP -

I will add 1 cube to New Hampshire
I will add 1 Oct to Vermont

I will then ask for a card from Blue(insight event)

176 12/20/2022 7:46:00 AM Turn 10 Red Adams Message I will pick for my last card Nat Macon

I can NOT do the EVENT placement into N. Carl as it is locked down. I will however PU a Popular card.
175 12/20/2022 7:45:00 AM Turn 9 Red Adams End Turn
174 12/19/2022 10:41:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Message If this was the state of play when the election was determined Bob Adams would come first, then Nick Clay and Dan Jackson would get through in the 3rd slot. Paul Crawford is trailing badly.

Then the Contingent Election would go Dan Jackson's way with well placed octagons / politicians and benefitting from Paul Crawford not being in the running. Result: Jackson 14 States, Clay 7, Adams 3.

However the Final Push is still to come after the last turn and can add/subtracts pieces in ways that change the situation.

Bob Adams starts T10.
173 12/19/2022 10:37:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Edit Status Red Adams: from 52 to 88
Blue Jackson: from 92 to 62
Green Crawford: from 48 to 40
Yellow Clay: from 69 to 71
172 12/19/2022 10:36:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Edit Notes Red Adams: from Starts T10, the last turn then comes Final Push to Starts T10, the last turn then comes Final Push
Blue Jackson: from to

Yellow Clay: from Starts T9 to
171 12/19/2022 10:09:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Message For the 2AP.

Work Back Rooms, 1 from 4 drawn Politician cards

1 Cube Missouri
170 12/19/2022 10:08:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Message James Noble 2AP slot.

For the event card:

1 Oct Indiana

1 Cube Indiana

1 Cube Missouri
169 12/17/2022 6:30:00 PM Turn 9 Blue Jackson Message TN 9 Blue Insight Draw
I drew 1 card and sent the remaining 6 cards back to Yellow.
Next it should be Green's turn to finish Turn 9 since Yellow started turn 9.
168 12/17/2022 5:38:00 PM Turn 9 Yellow Clay Message Yellow cards placed in the Exchange window for Blue and logfile sent.
167 12/17/2022 1:04:00 PM Turn 9 Blue Jackson Message TN 9 Blue
I'll choose Israel Pickens which is above the 1 AP + Insight position
This gives me 1 cube and 3 Oct in Alabama which is probably overkill in that state.
For my 1 AP, I will choose the campaign for political support and place 1 Oct in Pennsylvania
For the 1 insight I will draw a card back from Yellow. So I'll stop and wait for the cards to appear in the exchange from Nick, playing for Yellow, Henry Clay.
166 12/17/2022 7:09:00 AM Turn 9 Red Adams Message I noticed I forgot to 'take' my event card into my hand I'll do so and send map update
165 12/17/2022 5:02:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Message Yes. Bob had 2 cards at the start of the file according to clicking on the # button and 4 at the end so all good. Blue Jackson next.

Am back in circulation after very patchy internet on a Co Donegal trip.
164 12/16/2022 9:47:00 PM Turn 9 Yellow Clay Message ..and put three of those four back, keeping only one of each?
163 12/16/2022 9:17:00 PM Turn 9 Red Adams Message 3rd AP will be to Get Out The Vote: Draw four Populace cards
162 12/16/2022 8:30:00 PM Turn 9 Red Adams Message Ben Ruggles

Ohio part of card can not be used but 1 goes in CT

Now I have 3 AP

1st will be to add 1 cube (more) to CT

2nd will be to Work the Back Rooms: Draw four Politician cards.

3rd item I need to think on
161 12/16/2022 6:44:00 PM Turn 9 Yellow Clay Message I've dealt two of Blue's cards in the Exchange window, then put one of them in my hand. The other one, and all the undealt cards, have been returned to Blue's hand and the card count is correct for Blue's hand. I've picked up the card I played and done the "shuffle along and deal a new one" thing for the event cards, so I think it's now Red to play.
160 12/16/2022 8:33:00 AM Turn 9 Blue Jackson Message File sent with Blue's cards placed in exchange for Yellow to draw.
159 12/15/2022 5:40:00 PM Turn 9 Yellow Clay Message I'll discard three covered wagon cards and lockdown Virginia. I pick Albion Parris so I get a cube and two octagons in New Hampshire and also a Politician card.

I'll use my single AP to place a cube in Pennsylvania and my Insight to steal a card from Blue.
158 12/15/2022 5:01:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Message Am away from home today (Thursday) and tomorrow. May not have any effect but internet access an unknown.
157 12/15/2022 5:00:00 AM Turn 9 Green Crawford Edit Notes Red Adams: from Starts T10, the last turn then comes Final Push to Starts T10, the last turn then comes Final Push
Blue Jackson: from to
Green Crawford: from Starts T8 to
Yellow Clay: from Starts T9 to Starts T9
156 12/14/2022 11:29:00 AM Turn 9 Blue Jackson Message I got error messages when I submitted the TN 8 message and it didn't show that it was sent at first. That is why it was sent 2 times.
155 12/14/2022 11:27:00 AM Turn 8 Blue Jackson End Turn
154 12/14/2022 11:26:00 AM Turn 8 Blue Jackson Message For turn 8 I chose William Hendricks which gave Blue some more influence in Indiana and 2 politician cards. That was above the 2 AP position which I used to place an octagon in Louisiana and worked the back rooms (drawing 4 politician cards, keeping one and putting the other 3 back). That gives me lots of cards but several are unplayable due to lockdowns. Next it should be Yellow's turn to start turn 9.
153 12/14/2022 11:26:00 AM Turn 8 Blue Jackson Message For turn 8 I chose William Hendricks which gave Blue some more influence in Indiana and 2 politician cards.
152 12/13/2022 2:24:00 PM Turn 8 Green Crawford Message Yes Blue Jackson still to go this turn.
151 12/13/2022 7:23:00 AM Turn 8 Red Adams Message I am not sure if it's Blue's turn or end of turn
so I'll leave the turn marker as is on Board and ACTS
150 12/13/2022 7:21:00 AM Turn 8 Red Adams Message I will start buy lock down of Kentucky

I will then pick James DeWolfe for 2 AP
The card events are placing cubes in Rhode Island
1 cube in Maryland and 2 Oct. in S. Carolina

Then for my 2 AP
1 Oct (more) into S. Carolina
for my 2nd AP I'll play
Political Intrigue - remove 1 Oct for me and 2 Oct for Blue from S. Carolina
149 12/13/2022 4:20:00 AM Turn 8 Green Crawford Edit Notes Red Adams: from to Starts T10, the last turn then comes Final Push
Blue Jackson: from to
Green Crawford: from Starts T8 to Starts T8
Yellow Clay: from to Starts T9
148 12/13/2022 4:19:00 AM Turn 8 Green Crawford Message Virginia quite a battleground. Political Intrigue is a good cut down to size play.
147 12/12/2022 6:09:00 PM Turn 8 Blue Jackson Message It should be Red's turn to go next.
146 12/12/2022 4:22:00 PM Turn 8 Yellow Clay Message Sorry for the delay, normal service will now be resumed.

I'll start by discarding three ship cards to lockdown Massachussetts.

I'll pick Gabriel Holmes, giving me 3AP. From the card I first ignore the octagons for North Carolina because its in lockdown, then place the one cube for the South in Viriginia and finally draw a Populace card.

I'll use my first two AP to place a cube and an octagon in Virginia, then use my final one for Political Intrigue in Virginia and remove one Yellow and two Green octagons.

Blue to play next?
145 12/11/2022 10:12:00 AM Turn 8 Red Adams Message Well, I guess it's a good thing you did not contract the accrual COVID - that might have been even worse than your reaction to shot

Take all the time you need - No rush on my end
144 12/11/2022 8:32:00 AM Turn 8 Yellow Clay Message Moves for this and Churchill later today. I only got over the jab properly yesterday evening and am now catching up with the world after three days in bad. It seems to be something about Covid jabs, my initial course of two were Astra Zrneca then last year's booster was a Moderna one and last week's was a Pfizer bivalent. So it doesn't seem to matter which particular Covid jab it is, just that it's a Covid one. The reaction to the Moderna one was the least unpleasant, I was just completely exhausted for a little over 24 hours, all I could do was sleep. The Astra Zeneca was the most unpleasant, strong flu-like symtoms for around 48 hours after the first dose and somewhat milder symptoms for about 36 hours after the second dose. This last one's effects were less unpleasant than the Astra Zeneca ones, but lasted about 96 hours. Maybe I'm just lucky...
143 12/11/2022 8:04:00 AM Turn 8 Green Crawford Message I just got a sore arm from the boosters but each one has been like 48 hours of flu for my wife.
142 12/9/2022 6:34:00 AM Turn 8 Red Adams Message Nick, hope you feel better soon
141 12/8/2022 12:21:00 PM Turn 8 Yellow Clay Message I had my Covid booster on Tuesday afternoon and it's hit me pretty hard again (general aches, running a temperatue, difficulty concentrating). Today is better than yesterday so I hope to make my moves in this and Churchill tomorrow. I have *never* had any problem at all with the 'flu jab, but for some reason I've had a reaction to every Covid one.
140 12/7/2022 12:26:00 PM Turn 8 Green Crawford Message Will start the turn by laying down 3 Slavery Issue retained cards to lock down Georgia.

Card: James Barbour. +1 Oct in each region. I choose: Virginia, New Jersey and Louisiana. Cube in Virginia.

Take 1 Politician card from four as the 1AP.
139 12/7/2022 12:13:00 PM Turn 8 Green Crawford Message >SO, Currently the card on the 2 AP is not playable
(but of course can still be picked and the 2 AP used)

Yes. And there's often a tension between what a card does v what its slot allows.
138 12/6/2022 7:32:00 AM Turn 8 Red Adams Message Green is up
137 12/6/2022 7:32:00 AM Turn 7 Red Adams End Turn

135 12/6/2022 7:29:00 AM Turn 7 Red Adams Message I will pick William King with 1 AP

1 cube in Alabama
1 cube in West / Kentucky
1 cube in South / Maryland

For my AP I'll place 1 cube in Maine
134 12/6/2022 6:57:00 AM Turn 7 Red Adams Message On Lockdowns -
For the rest of the game, no player can
add or remove tokens in that state through any means whatsoever.
Only one Lockdown can be performed per player turn.

Also
If a state is
locked down, no tokens may be added or removed.

SO, Currently the card on the 2 AP is not playable
(but of course can still be picked and the 2 AP used)
133 12/5/2022 4:46:00 PM Turn 7 Yellow Clay Message Yes, sorry. I had a lot of email over the weekend and Dan's slipped by me. I've dealt two cards from the exchange and put one in my hand then returned the rest to Dan. I've also picked up the card I played and got the board ready for Red's turn.
132 12/5/2022 4:16:00 PM Turn 7 Green Crawford Message Yellow needs to take that card back in before it is Red Quincy Bob's go? Insights are the confusing bit of the ACTS module.
131 12/2/2022 6:31:00 PM Turn 7 Blue Jackson Message Blue places all their cards in the exchange for Yellow. File sent.
130 12/2/2022 4:41:00 PM Turn 7 Yellow Clay Message I'll pick Robert Young Hayne, giving me an octagon in South Carolina and three cubes in the South, two of which I'll place in Virginia and the third in Maryland.

For my one AP I'll put an octagon in Virginia and then I'll use my Insight to take a card from Blue.
129 12/1/2022 6:30:00 AM Turn 7 Green Crawford Message Green takes on of the two drawn cards
128 11/29/2022 2:36:00 PM Turn 7 Yellow Clay Message Cards sent to exchnage window and logfile sent.

123 11/24/2022 3:15:00 PM Turn 7 Blue Jackson Message TN 7 Blue
I'll start TN 7 by playing 3 event cards to lock down a state. It would be embarassing to lose your home state so I'll choose Tennessee.
Using 3 event cards with the trade symbol Tennessee is locked down for Blue / Jackson
I'll choose Thomas Hill Williams event which gives 2 cubes in the West and 1 Populace card.
2 cubes in Kentucky and I got 1 populace card.
Now I get 2 action points and 1 insight
1 cube in Pennsylvania and one octagon in Georgia for my 2 actions
For my insight I will take a card from Green who has 3.
I'll await the card exchange from Green to choose one card and send the other one back before finishing my turn.
122 11/24/2022 3:12:00 PM Turn 6 Blue Jackson End Turn

120 11/23/2022 8:30:00 PM Turn 6 Yellow Clay Message I picked Horatio Seymour, who gives me two politician cards which I have drawn from the deck. I then get 3AP, the first two of which I use to place a cube and an octagon in Pennsylvania and the final one I use to draw four populace cards, keep one and return the other three to the botto of the deck.

If I'm following this right then that's the end of turn 6 and I think it's Blue to start turn 7.
119 11/20/2022 5:22:00 PM Turn 6 Blue Jackson Message I'll send a file to fix the cards and end Green's turn. Next it will be Yellow / Nick's turn and his turn will finish turn 6 since Red started this turn.
118 11/20/2022 2:29:00 PM Turn 6 Green Crawford Message Was too focused on reading the how to do insights, as a result have left the Joseph McIlvanie Event Card on the table and not moved events along / drawn a new one. Dan can you do that when you take back your offered cards and leave JMc out somewhere or send it to my hand please?
117 11/20/2022 2:23:00 PM Turn 6 Green Crawford Message Drew 2 cards in the happy/sad window and took one. Dan Blue now has to take card(s) back in to hand?

Haven't been doing insights to this point.

114 11/16/2022 7:34:00 PM Turn 6 Yellow Clay Message Cards put in the exchange like last time, logfile on the way.
113 11/16/2022 10:36:00 AM Turn 6 Blue Jackson Message TN 6 Blue

I drew one politician card
For my one action point I will place a cube in Maine
For my insight, I will draw a card from Yellow.

111 11/15/2022 12:12:00 PM Turn 6 Green Crawford Message Blue Jackson next.

Note that the Baltimore Patriot Event on the board should go to my hand. If anything goes wrong it is a Westward Expansion wagon card for lockdown purposes.
