#39: 2 / They Shall Not Pass Cancels any retreat for losing a combat if defending in a non-destroyed FR fort space. A FR unit must be present in the space. Card remains face up until a combat is lost or until end of turn. Message from Allies: There are many things in that game which I just never seemed to get around to actually finishing and it put me in such a bad space for when you eventually attacked the Russians. E.g. Italy had far too many of my armies in it, both French and Italian against basically only 2 to 3 Austrian armies. Terrible organisation by me. I never exploited the Balkans despite having both Serbian armies and loads of British, Greek and Italian corps there. I always seemed to lack enough ops to do anything. My Western Front was the most poorly organised Front of them all. I had Belgians stacked with British which cost too much to move and my French were divided between Italy and France too much to offer much help. The US units basically saved them from being over-run. The Middle East should have fallen, but I never seemed to get the dice rolls right when attacking from Sinai. I should have at least conquered Damascus at a minimum. My Russian Front appeared to be the strongest Front of then all but within 2-3 turns it was destroyed by a blitzkrieg type warfare. I made stupid counter-attacks there when I should have reorganised my Western Front. I have never seen a CP player use up so many events too. Thanks for the game. I am on holiday from this Friday for 3-4 weeks. If you fancy another game, we can swap sides? I don't currently have any other games going except a game of FtP, which I am about to lose. |
