Examining Constanta you have three choices. Stay in port so no Battle. Send out everyone. Advantages if I roll a 1 or 2 in the Air Battle and lose the +1 Naval Battle you preserve the Mine. Disadvantages gets expensive and can loose Ger 3-3-7 on bad rolls. Send out only the Ro air. Advantages still have the 1 or 2 to eliminate Russian Air, no risk to Naval units. Disadvantages Air rolls of 3 or higher and you lose the Mine.

The Ro air may not support the Ger Naval unit for two reasons. First it NEVER survives the Air Battle as at +2 the defender always takes at least 1 Hit. Second 11.9.1; Air cares about nationality, Naval units can support ground units of different nationalities.
The Naval Battle is either +6(Att 4 fleet +3 Air +2 Air vs Naval vs Def 3) or +1 not 4/1/9 as you list. In addition if the roll on the Air Battle was 2 or 6 you will take a Hit on your Naval unit in the Air Battle.

If you wish to change the Naval or Air moves feel free.

Good play with the Reserve marker on the 6-5-6. You should have done the same to at least one infantry in the Center.

The Factory you captured needs a control Marker(like the one you placed for the Repl Pt from Minsk) for the game to count it.

Here I think you made the correct decision with both Air.

Now I am not saying they should go to these Battles but your phrasing lead me to believe you were unaware it was an option. Let me know what you wish to do here then I will roll combat.

In my judgement they are roughly equivalent in value to the Russian; I prefer the peaceful variation as the Russian because my style emphasizes building Repl Pts to be more aggressive later. I'll give you the choice which version you want to be real. I think it will help you learn more if I play the aggressive version but your choice. Sending files now.

Definitely you can use Minesweep/Minelay missions to block NP Naval(see my attack on Tallinn in our last game) You can't use the technique to protect Naval Transport as those missions occur in Naval Movement and Naval Transport occurs in Special Movement.




The first paragraph of our rule 12 was a question with the next two paragraphs being my opponents answer. It seems clear to me. If you ask a question about a specific situation that seems unclear I will answer.

two separate battle markers in Leningrad, one for minesweep/minelay other for ground combat. Russian player can decide in which battle he will use naval unit(s) and air unit(s) which are in Leningrad. Unit(s) can participate only in one battle not both. so there is two separate battles in same hex.

If minelay/minesweep is not in Leningrad hex but there is groud combat in Leningrad hex, then naval or air unit can not move out from Leningrad to participate Minelay/minesweep battlehex.

13) Ground units not retreat thru solid enemy lines. For example attacking you in H14 and retreating to G14.

14) Exception to 13)"It can be hard to write rules to forbid what you want but still allow what you wish to allow(like pocketed units attacking to get thru the lines to reach safety. How about this: Units that start the turn OOS are entitled to retreat as sneakily as they are allowed under the rules assuming after they retreat they will be in supply. "

2 11/29/2022 3:27:00 PM Turn 1 Russian Message 6) Only home rule I would like to use is Railway gauge north of Leningrad. (Railway in Finland to Leningrad, Petrozavodsk to Volkhov). No need to convert rail at those railway lines just mark who is control of hex. Reason is that Finland and Russia have same railway gauge So it is no need to convert rail and it would also be unhistorical to do So.

7) It costs the cost of terrain plus 1 MP for the round of combat to pursue in blitz movement.

8) Air units need not start in the hex to get the Air Base bonus of +2

9) Air units opposing a Minesweep/Minelay mission in their hex do not get the Air Base bonus.
