202 1/25/2023 6:28:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message Looks like Stefen Barth is waiting for an opponent on the ladder, so you may get right into a game!
201 1/25/2023 6:23:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message Don't think I can get this lucky twice!
200 1/25/2023 6:14:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message I took a look at the FtP new ladder on Wargame League.
I didn't know about it. Thanks for information.
I submit, so maybe I will find you on the field on two different tournament :-)
199 1/25/2023 5:12:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message That would be bad for me!
198 1/25/2023 5:09:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message When you let East front open, I had a small hope to come back. But this last combo Discarder-Major Campaign- interception roll 6, it was the last nail in CSA coffin.
I hope I will get same hand as USA :-D
197 1/25/2023 4:19:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message Thanks - I got incredibly lucky, especially with that intercept roll.

It certainly goes both ways. I'm playing in the first round of the new FtP ladder on Wargame League as the Confederates. Last turn I should have been able to destroy the AoP, but McDowell managed to roll the required "1" on the intercept, which was the third "1" in a row that the Union had rolled for intercept with 1-rated generals.

In turn 5, I finally managed to get Lee and his army up the Shenandoah Valley to threaten my first raid. Unfortunately, the US had a single 1-card, three blockade cards on the same turn, two more 3-cards, and is ending the turn with a minor campaign that will probably corner Lee and remove all threat of a raid before Grant shows up.

I suspect you will do better against me as the Union - I still have trouble figuring out the best path for the Confederates.
196 1/25/2023 4:06:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Ok, I give you this one. USA will open W-DC again. Game over.
No card, no die roll. Too much to handle for CSA.
195 1/25/2023 4:04:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Funny.

AoW will try to intercept Pope in Harrisburg.
193 1/25/2023 4:03:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Sorry for Lebanon and Bowling Green mess up. I played from memory and my memory is not that good it seems.

A discarder and a major campaign in the same hand! It should be forbidden…
Well, CSA will try to minimize the disaster :-/

I was confused for a minute because I thought you meant Dover, DE which no longer has an SP, but the mention of Price got me to the correct Dover in Tennessee. Normally Delaware isn't an option, but unfortunately it is in this game!

Hopefully this will mess with your plans a bit.

Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:
It was a game of light games - we played Charioteer (the new GMT game) and Inis. Fun night though.

2) to Lewistown. Pickup Rosecrans and 1 SP.
3) to Johnstown. Drop Rosecrans and 1 SP. Pope by himself again.
4) Pope to Lewistown. Pickup Pleasonton and 5 infantry SPs. 1 SP remains in Lewistown.
5) to Johnstown.

149 1/19/2023 6:35:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message According to rule 7.61, as winner of the battle CSA could choose where Burnside retreats (priorities 5 or 6 apply) and it will be Amelia Courthouse :-)

I didn’t create another army because Lee was more useful as a Corps (to move back to avoid to be OOS or occupy more spaces at the end of the turn)
Maybe not my smarter move :-/
I made another mistake when I didn’t move my 2sp from Missionary Ridge as I plan. After you moved Halleck to Annapolis I really believed you had a Campaign and could try to destroy AoNV with it.

That's it for today.
148 1/19/2023 5:30:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #122: 3 / Crisis in the West

Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:

Leaves 1 SP in Danville.
1) Burnside and 1 SP to Clarksville.
2) to Weldon.

Not much of a line, but at least for now all CSA troops in Virginia and farther north are OOS.
I figured you were going to make a second army which is why I had to push AoNV back to Manassas so I could send one of the armies away, but you didn't make another one.
