Thanks Philippe re: the scenario, and I appreciate you suffering through it with me! I'll be particularly interested to get your thoughts about the victory conditions once we wrap up. I had a quick rules question I was going to raise in the main forum. Don't the carriers that moved into Biak have to declare a battle hex there, since we have an army in that hex? I don't believe that's your intention, and they could easily move to a different hex for the Sarong attack (which is perfectly fine), but wanted to confirm the actual rule. The rule states: 7.24 Declaring Battle Hexes After all Offensive unit movement, the Offensives player declares which hex(s) are battle hexes. Any hex that contains Offensive and Reaction units (including HQs) must be declared a battle hex. |

Hi Philippe, Thanks for noting this, and I see your point. However I’m not sure it’s really a problem. The scenario is not intended to be strictly-speaking “reconstructible” from a straight play-through of the game, nor do I think is that the norm for the yearly scenarios. For instance, in the 1943 scenario both sides are in ISR but neither side has ISR cards discarded. While certain historical events should be played and discarded on the historical timeline I think ISR cards are sufficiently abstract that we don’t have to be so strict. We didn’t have any ISRs in discard at the start of the game either. I think you can redraw and use the ISR card. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Kirill |
