125 | 4/22/2025 8:57:00 AM | Fall 1861 | Confederate | Message |
You shouldn't be allowed to reverse attrition after you already took it. If you want to place SPs in Staunton, you can take them from either Charlottesville or Wytheville. |

I did mean Staunton but the move has still become mixed up because of me having had the battle in the wrong space Let me restate: ANV 8 moves: 1-2 Staunton battle 2/1 loss AOP d1 Staunton n6 3 Chalotteville d2 n4 4-5 Whytheville d1 n3 6 Lynchburg end 3 |

Sorry I've written McClellan but left Rosencrans in the file The move is what I intended to do - concerting Strasburg means I don't get to Wytheville and end in Lynchburg. All the spaces also converted to USA at the end of the turn. |
118 | 4/18/2025 9:38:00 AM | Fall 1861 | Confederate | Message |
also, you can't leave McClellan behind (same reason you couldn't leave Lee behind in the other game) |
117 | 4/18/2025 9:36:00 AM | Fall 1861 | Confederate | Message |
My point is that you could convert Strasburg and attack in supply (and not risk the out of supply roll) and you could still make it to Lynchburg and Wytheville. The only difference is you would end in Wytheville instead of Lynchburg |
116 | 4/16/2025 9:29:00 AM | Fall 1861 | Union | Message |
OK but I don't control Strasburg, so I would still be OOS in Staunton. That said, I lost the minimum possible in 2*/1 result - I can't see how rerolling changes the outcome? |
115 | 4/16/2025 | Fall 1861 | Confederate | Message |
not sure what you're trying to accomplish here, but note that Bragg was in Staunton not Charlottesville which means you could attack in supply and still end your movement in Lynchburg as you had a favorable die roll, I see no problem with you deciding to revise your move including a re-roll of the battle with more favorable DRMs for you |

For future reference, McDowell was +1 in defense because he has no cavalry, so his leadership reduces to zero and he only receives the rating from one subordinate. The difference between +2 and +1 changes the losses from a 3 to a 2. Unfortunately for me, the SP saved in battle I lose to attrition anyhow. So, in this case, the end result is the same, but obviously, that will not always be the case. |

That's not how it works. A corps is any combination of SPs and generals that are not in an army. There are not multiple corps in the same space just because there are more than two generals. When the corps is active, the moving general can only carry one subordinate. But retreat before battle is an inactive general, so the moving generals restriction does not apply. 7.24 RETREAT BEFORE BATTLE PROCEDURE: The defender may move his entire force into any adjacent friendly controlled or neutral space |
