Hi Robert, Thank you for checking- I’m away from my computer/ map and forgot about Koblenz. I think the rules only penalizes the AP for unplayed US army events, not the USc event. After you check the rule you can let Jeff know, whether it’s 9 or 10VP. There were a few turns where it seemed every roll went against the CP; but, I think playing Michael before having the GE17/GE18 armies and attacking Kovno without control of Grodno were significant errors which contributed to not having a shortage of GE armies. Lessons for next time! Thank you for a great game! It was a lot of fun! |

there are 3 unplayed USA reinforcement cards: USA1, USA2 and a USA 2c card. that is 3 VP for CP. my board thus shows 10 VP - same as yours. a draw it is - while the AP holds Berlin! i will take the draw = sort of an AP victory. great game, Geoff. i have to say your combat die rolls for most of the second half were terrible for you - really bad. without those you would have won handily. do you want to inform Jeff Lange or shall I ? Great game Robert! I have the final VP at 10, (+2 for no US army cards played), which makes the game a draw - still an AP victory. I think the real winner is Turkey- after capturing the Middle East oil they cut a deal with Standard Oil to keep the US out, preventing Britain from playing Allenby! |

Hi Robert, This game is definitely coming down to the wire! It’s not in the rules - might be in the Designers Notes or some other place, you can’t play Romania as an event after the Tsar falls - as the 2VP awarded assumes Germany takes economic control of a neutral Romania when the Tsar falls as Romania gets their supplies from Russia. You can play Romania for any other purpose- I suggest you play it for RPs! |

Hi Geoff - i am sending this from Istanbul airport - flying to Boston in a couple hours after short business trip. question: I drew Romania card among others. I'm in a situation I've never seen in all my PoG games. Tsar fell, so you got 2 VPs. but not clear to me from rules whether the card can be played. The rules don't address this situation precisely- see, for ex, 9.5.2.5 on page 10. we are both at total war, and the Tsar Fall card doesn't say Romania cannot join later. thus, i think i can play it as event or OPs or RPs. do you know? i won't get home to Maine until nearly midnight, so no rush. your die rolls have made the game more interesting than it should have been, happily for me. cheers - robert |
