Dear Mikael, I am sorry that I will lose you as an opponent as I enjoyed our conversations and our game immensely... there are those opponents who are "all business", but your are not one of them. So thank you for being so nice. Looking back I think you played well in the West, but building TR2s is very important to winning. I think my Russian strategy to drive to Berlin hurt by keeping you from building these trenches. Your near east strategy was good and bad. You stopped me in my tracks with the MEF and at Erzerum, but you needed to build up the Sinai with SRing Bulgarians there to hold the two forts there. Your luck in Italy and Serbia was poor and in Russia as well as the trenches I continued to build came one after the other after the other. A lot of the dicerolls in this game seemed low which causes me to think there is a flaw in the Vassal system. Even the last siege rolls were losers we both rolled low, meaning the forts survived. Maybe a lot of my success was your bad luck... and I thought you played well as this bad luck and above mistakes did you in. So thank you, Mikael, and better luck along the way! |

I am re-reading the Kemal card now. I have always thought that this card can only be played as a cc-card only (that will come later). But now when I read the card, it seems like you can play the card as an event. Then one can use the card one time EVERY turn ("May only be used in one combat per turn"). This would be much much stronger then using as a cc-card and then it will return after many turns. Is that true? Please help to clarify before I resolve the current battle. |

Hmmm... I am a bit confused and yes, sorry to say, I did miss the Villach move, so let's address your move: One op: You made the attack on Warsaw. Second Op: You moved the Turk corp from Mosul to Erzerum. Third and fourth Op: You attacked from Trent But you would need 2 more ops to move the Gc from Villach to Udine... so besides your combat ops, I'm not sure if you have the additional ops. I just noticed that Trent contains 2 AH units and you've used the SUD army card to activate it, but if you read the card, a second AH unit present in the stack voids the SUD activation requirement. No, my friend. It is now 7 successful trench rolls in a row and 6 of them on 33% success chances!!! This must be some type of a record. I am not sure about the order but Grodno-Insterberg-Venice-Skopje-Tannenberg-Salonika (the only 50% with French Orient) and now Lutsk. Venice especially hurt after I had succesfully wiped out 3 trenches. I do not keep track of my own trench rolls but the last two (with 50% chance) in Metz have been unsuccessful. You would have won anyhow as you are so much experienced and I do not complain as dice luck evens out, but it makes it very very difficult. |

No I don't believe using the SR move was bad use of the card... I believe you're handling the situation well... one thing to remember is that this a long game and losing badly somewhere affords you the time to still recover with good play... where you see 3 city VPs for me to take, I see 3 city VPs that I'll have trouble holding. So perhaps it's in the perception... all I know is that this is an exciting game for me and I hope it is for you. |

You will get 3 more VPs from Blockade if the game runs all the way, there are 3 VP-cities that you can stroll into at your leasure anytime, Sofia is in a precarious situation and there are 3-4 threats to Turkey. Italy, I can see what you are doing (blending in non-Italian troops) - I think that you know the decks well and you are much too experienced for my current level of play.
